Make whatever claims you want, but I know that alliance attitudes aren't very different across EVE. Triumvirate members would've fought a long and brutal war, if there were visionary leaders and a sense of purpose driving it. The alliances TRI wants to be compared to have had countless opportunities to play the fun/POS card and chose not to.

Lacking that is what made TRI an inferior alliance by comparison. Copped out on the first go. Otherwise every group in the game has the same exact potential for greatness.

The only interesting thing now is we get to see whose going to reject this stupid announcement, and whose going to embrace it.

You don't GET tri then. The comparisons were purely on a scale of enjoyment, and everyone loves to win. BoB love to win eve, TRI loved to win fights. As an alliance TRI. did what it did for fun and to keep this goddam game fun, POS wars etc may give people legs to stand on for forum posturing, but the real deal for the members of TRI was just a place to fight with some of the best pvpers we knew. And I'll say it again. On a massive, pos fest, laggy war, TRI wouldn't have done so well, but at it's prime, we'd have given some of those alliances you're talking about a hell of a goddam fight.

As for giving up when it got tough, its never been easy. It's not easy to get those sort of fights without getting bogged down in camping, shooting POS etc. It's not easy to keep a blood-thirsty membership happy. It's not easy to balance logistics/industry/PVP if half the alliance don't care, want or need for half of it.

Dictatorship by someone with a super strong vision of what they wanted from the alliance would have changed the way TRI turned out, but probably with less numbers and less applause for space taking.

And suprisingly, it was never about egos. It was about personal opinions and not wanting to compromise again and again for something people didn't believe in.

What to say reallyà I always knew that it would eventually happen and I always knew that when it did it would never be pleasant or the glorious death that every alliance wishes and hopes for. Triumvirate. Was formed nearly two years ago and I never expected it to get to where it is today or indeed last as long as it has. It has now got to the point where for the sake of our own corporations, members and ourselves we need to close the door.

Some people will no doubt come to their own conclusions as to why TRI is closing, the truth is there is no single answer. I believe that no matter what decision was made before the 3 corps leaving we would have eventually fallen apart one way or another, whether it be due to disagreements or whether a similar turn of events would have sucked the life out of those in charge of TRI taking away their will to play this game. When this happens it filters down to members, they start to lose hope or their own will to play. Our objective to help Insurgency was a last ditch attempt to get that spark back and we knew it would either result in a more refined TRI that myself and the other CEOÆs sought or a TRI drained and tired that would need to be closed.

We knew exactly what we were walking into when we entered that war, we knew the numbers involved and we knew the risks, but we felt it was necessary. Right or wrong, agree or disagree thatÆs what the leadership felt needed to be done. Our own internal problems were too much to be repaired even by a war of this scale.

It has been fantastically satisfying to watch the rise of TRI and I believe that for a lone alliance in our prime we were up there with the top alliances like BoB and RA in strength and skill. I cannot thank the corporations and members who have trusted and worked with me enough, its been a pleasure to fly with everyone in TRI.

To those alts and people undoubtedly about to attack this thread with abuse, I told you soÆs and karma remarks, life goes on, every alliance has a sell by date and if the people in TRI are guilty of anything its giving its trying to give it one last shot. We failed to get that spark back and rather than dissolve slowly and painfully we have decided to end it ourselves quickly.
