IM running a drake for L3, im running
7hvy launcher2
3 ratspec tec2 hardernes 2 large sheild exstenders2
3 bcu2 and one cpu mod
Right now im bounceing between a target painter and a sensor boster , Im tight on cpu and grid so what ever i fit has to be small on the fittings

Short of messing around with CPU or shield hardwires I suppose you could add a faction passive hardener--maybe downgrade one of your launchers or BCU for a named/faction and see if it will create some options.

A 4th hardner seems wasted, im at 80%+ ken therm , and as a cardie is damn near all we see and that iwht only 2 lvs of battle cruiser, It would be useful for the blockade but then its the only l3 right now that i have to think about. I would love to hit another Lext2 but i need to squeez out a but more cpu so i can get rid of my cpu mod in my low slot and replace it with a sheild relay or grid mod so i can fit the Lext2

get a caldari navy bcu and a named shield recharger. and replace the cpu upgrade for a spr as the cn bcu uses less cpu than a t2 bcu. assuming your other skills are up to par so that should all fit.
or if you want the sensor booster that should fit on there with no problem and dropping the cpu upgrade for spr (electronics 5 weapon upgrades 5)

An afterburner, obviously.
Downgrade your extenders or hardeners to named instead of T2 if you need to for fitting, it's worth it.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

Honestly, if you're having CPU issues you might try using malkuth launchers instead of T2. It's about 15 cpu/launcher savings.
You might also try using fewer BCU2s as well since they're 30 cpu/mod.
When I did L3s I used 2 named assault launchers, 5 named heavy launchers, no BCUs, and 5 T1 drones and never had any problems with how fast/slow I did them.
Of course I also used 3 LSEs, 3 hardeners, and 4 SPRs so I had way more than enough tank to do L3s and not care how long it took.

You might not of had a problem but you would take over twice the time of the 3 BCU + tech II launcher setup.

Ya im looking to fit a bit more tank, but downgrading my bcus or launchers seems a step in the wrong direction, ther drakes dps is kinda sad with out T2 weapons imo, im trying out the shield recharger in the mid slot right now will see how it works out, thank for all the input.
On question though, why would you sit a AB on a BC, there slow as paint so i dont realy see a benifit ?

shield rechargers as suggested
or
downgrade LSE2 to best named LSE. i know they are not as good but you should put 3 or them ..
i think ( not sure tho):
3x regolith LSE > 2x LDE2 + Shield recharger

Or fit a CPU implant and make room for even more options without the need to downgrade anything! I would vote for the AB tho...

You fit an AB to one for the same reason you fit an AB to anything else. Less time traveling to mission objectives or between accel gates, etc. AB also gives you the options of range or transversal tanking, both of which are very helpful at times. It can only improve your missioning speed.
You don't need an extreme tank for level 3s anyway, and if you need more than you have you are doing something wrong. I ran em with a fully T1 setup (meta 3 launchers) and no rigs for months and only had trouble with the Blockade, because I was dumb and shot all the triggers.
