Its time to celebrate!!!!! For five years the corporate interface has been a steaming pile of garbage. The kind of garbage that comes out of a chineese kitchen without a garbage disposal and in a hot summer sun with an insect problem.
As a birthday gift I sentence CCP to unlock 465 bluepints which is the task that I am doing now. Those CCP people that have promised to fix the corp UI over the years get to unlock 500 blueprints in 4 stations and investigate which corporate member stole an item from a corp hangar (oh wait .. there is no UI to do that).
But then I fear Im just peeing in the wind as there are enough CEOs and directors to ratchet up the issue to attract attention. We just dont have enough people to get sufficient GWL (General Whine Level).

Normally a lot of the *****/whine anti-CCP Crap is false - however I can't disagree on this one.
It has always been a buggy annoying thing, even after 5 years it still needs a lot of work - despite what improvements were made. ____________________

Its bad if you know what you are doing, but if you are inexperienced, the corp interface is really hard to just figure out.
eg: My CEO gave up and just gave me master wallet access (w00t!) so I could put a bpo in POS a lab for ME research. Now we know each other personally and were we each live IRL so worst comes to worst.. but this is madenning at times.
I've thought of starting a small corp, but put it in the too hard bin.

Normally, I'd tend to flame the OP of such statements... ...but on this particular issue, I agree with the OP 100%.
The corp interface... everything from voting, sanctionable actions, layout and functionality, rights and (lack of) explanation of said rights... EVERYTHING in the corp interface is a steaming pile of horse manure.

Still it just takes patience and a bit of common sense to get what you need done.

Originally by: Rells investigate which corporate member stole an item from a corp hangar
Since that corp member must have been given access to said corp hangar in order to be able to take items from it, how can it be theft? By giving a corp member access to a corp hangar you grant him the right to take and use whatever he find in there. Don't give people rights unless you trust them not to abuse it. Problem solved.
And also, why would CCP even want to investigate it or to help you investigate it? It's not against the EULA to use things you have been granted access to...

That sounds like an entirely different subject, and you could use the station containers that log everything going in and out. I think those can be locked down in a corp hangar (I have mine in personal hangars to sort stuff for production).
Haven't made much use of the corp interface yet though so can't comment on it.

I don't check the CCP job applications on a regular basis but the UI devs have been up there for a long time. Guess if they want to get those people on board they should at least train advanced recruitment. |

Been there. Done that. We had 600 BPOs that were frozen. No Sanctionable actions would work. Through petitions it took us 3 MONTHS and tons of anger to get them unlocked. And just wait til your old sanctionable actions fills up and you click on it by accident and it freezes your entire UI for 30 minutes.

This becomes a big issues when you have multiple builders that you need to know what they are drawing on in the materials hangar. Right now you either have to give them full, unrestricted, unloggable access or none at all. This isnt fair for builders in a corp because the CEO would have to be totally psychotic to grant that access to all potential builders. You cant set quotas or anything else.

I agree. the corp interface is horrible, and the sheer amount of pointless work it causes was the single biggest reason I wound up my corp.
The corp interface needs re-working from scratch tbh.

Originally by: Kale Kold Holy Hell, the corp interface is dire! And when i say dire i mean the so called designers should be shot. It is horrible! period! there is nothing even remotely nice to say about it!
Have you used the corporate interface? Do you realize the flexibility and power it gives you? Sure it is a pain to use and buggy at times, but it definatly does a decent job of providing options.
Not to say it doesn't need improvement, given there are only 7 hangars availible, you either have to give each produce the ability to steal billions in mats, or only build when a director is on. I don't know about anyone else but neither of those sounds like a good solution
Additionally as others have said, what is up with no logging ability at all in hangars? There is the ability with Audit Log containers, but then again, even that is restrive (You can't actually log withdrawls, just unlocks, and having to lock and unlock every item in frequently used stations sucks) A nice check box and log window without logging that just logs every transaction for a month or so would pwn.

Not to mention the old concept of giving people take access to a hangar but not view access which allowed them to build for corp safely. Was a nice workaround.

On that same topic, paying for corp jobs was simple. If it was in the corp hanger and you had manufacturing roles the cash would come out of the corp wallet to cover the installation fees without giving the member explicit take access to a wallet division.

Look on the bright side: it means you never have to worry about mutiny, no one in their right mind would intentionally take the CEO job if they have any experience at the director level.
But seriously, the all-or-nothing permissions (why do I have to give accountant jobs to people to let them pick up deliveries?!?) and general tendency to make things difficult is not fun. Not to mention the documentation.

/me cries because it's true. The corp interface needs to be fixed. Action items: 1) allow us to create as many corp hangars as we need 2) allow us to fix station containers in a hangar so they can't be stolen, but can be accessed 3) allow us to make corp blueprints available for use by members to run personal jobs. that is they would use their own money and materials, and wouldn't have to be given the 'factory manager' role, access to corp materials, and wallet access. 4) make locking/unlocking blueprints easier. at the moment it takes at least a dozen clicks per blueprint (closer to 20 clicks i think) and half the time it fails due to a voting bug anyway. 5) fix shares, and enable share trading 6) document, document, document!
