Station Control title being passed to John Tanashima at this time.
I have worked with Ms Amieta Invelen and Ms Kyoko Sakoda, both of whom have preformed most admirabally in conducting SAR and electronic repair operations. Thier commitment to the relief efforts is a fine example of Caldari preserverence- both are truely a credit to The State.
Together, we have successfully repaired a junctionbox in section 34 that restored computer control to the area.
Most areas of the reamining station are now fully operational from a computer and atmospheric standpoint.
Upon turning command over to Mr Tanashima, SAR teams were headed to section 140 in an attempt to repair fluctuating atmospheric conditions in the top sections of the station.
Our priority is to comb for stranded victims, particularly in the top sections which may have isolated pockets of atmosphere reamining. Electronic systems repair is also an objective, and SAR and DC teams have been bringing systems up as sections are searched for survivors.
It's been decided to maintain these operations atleast until event plus forty-eight, then work towards repairing and rebuilding damaged superstructure.
I would personally like to thank everyone who has provided aide to the relief effort, especially our SAR and DC teams, who continuously put their lives on the line in order to save others, as well as those who have made donations of supplies, ISK and courier services.
Id also like to submit... that my heart, mind and soul are with all of those who have lost in this great tragedy. I mourn and grieve with you. And I offer my continued support and stand ready to serve The State in any way I am able.

It was an honor to work with these pilots. Some have toiled nearly since the time of the catastrophe. In addition, I was surprised to see many pilots get out of their capsules and do some of the grunt work themselves. The independent effort undertaken here truly rivals that which the Corporations themselves are shouldering.
I took a personal risk, traveling to Malkalen to assist. It was well worth it to see four poor Caldari souls saved from under the wreckage with my own eyes.
Even if this disaster leads to other grave events, we will remember that this was a time that pilot representatives from all four nations came together in a time of crisis. Perhaps someday the more conscious thought of that will be a beacon of hope.

Emphasis mine. Who'd of thought it.
That being said it was wonderful working to help as much as I could. I feel like we are really helping the rescue operations, and I can only thank all the pilots that continue to be involved. -----

Command passed to Sylvain Lemieux, survivors found in an air pocket on level 140.
Thanks to the great expertise of pod pilots on site and the generous donations of many pilots and corporations, four survivors were extracted with only very light hypothermia by a team led by Kyoko Sakoda and Amieta Invelen with technical help for pressure management from Hast Beneton and his engineering team.
Internal station transportation is available up to level 138, power and pressure up to level 140.
Preliminary scans of level 141 are available, but as the time goes on, the probability to find any more survivors grows less, despite this morningÆs miracle.
We are quite well stocked on first aid and biological but temporary repair jobs to secure power and pressure in the station demand more robotics and superconductors.
Please transfer all material help to station command, current station command representative can be found in this thread or in the Malkalen Relief channel.
Pod pilots with EVA and/or power/pressure engineering experience are very welcome to manage rescue operations on the station itself.

Originally by: Rodj Blake I would like to publicly re-state my concerns about Federation-based terrorist groups being allowed to take part in this effort.
It seems odd that people with sympathies towards the possible perpetrators of this atrocity should be allowed near the crime scene.
Think of it as cutting someone, and then saying sorry by giving them a plaster.
Of course, the plaster could have poison on it, let us hope it doesn't, because we should accept as much aid as we can take in this time of need. |

Go boil you backside. Id like to know what you've done to help. If anything. And if you bothered to listen, you would find that a majority of Gallante pilots find the disaster as horrific as others do. Or maybe you preder to listen to mad people who seek only war? ****************************

MALKALEN RELIEF OPERATION UPDATE
Dr. Lemieux stands in a dishevelled white coat surrounded by weary looking and filthy rescued workers
Attention all pod-pilot relief teams, the decision has been taken to permanently suspend any further SAR or recovery operations. It was felt that we have done all we can and the announcement by Ishukone that they are suspending their own search and rescue operations as well as incoming support by the Hyasyoda Corporation renders much of what we can offer insignificant.
As I said in the recent news article, once the official effort begins our operations will pale in comparison and I feel we would simply get in the way if we continue to work. The channel 'Malkalen Relief' will continue to operate for those who seek information on loved ones and to liase with Ishukone authorities on any further assistance we can render.
Thanks must go to each and every pilot that assisted over the last three days. I will not list names as there are simply too many, each of you know who you are and you know that you have done humanity a great service.
All pilots who require refunds for the ISK spent on procuring relief materials should direct a receipt to myself and they will receive recompense though please do not abuse this.
Lastly, let us remember what transpired here, let us remember those who at one point considered themselves bitter enemies worked together in common cause. Our similarities far outweigh our differences and we have all seen the real human spirit. Let us have a moment of reflect for not only those who died this week but all those who are now threatened with the death and turmoil of impending war.
I for one do not wish the galaxy destroyed.
Thank you all again,
Lemieux Out

No recompense is needed for WFTI. We brought what was needed for the relief effort and it doesn't matter that there was loss on buying it, the important part is that they were given to the relief effort to help those in need.
On that note, I still have a large portion of antibiotics waiting to be shipped. Should I just head in and drop them to the station or would it be better to just contract them over to avoid any of the profiteers.

On behalf of FEISAR I would like to thank all the brave people who helped in this wonderful effort and those who will keep on working. No refunds are required - what we did was obvious reaction of those realize we pod-pilots have to the society of New Eden. What makes as who we are is how we behave in such situations. Actions of those who participated in this effort give a light of hope for the coming days.
What I would expect however is more activity on behalf of the Caldari State. Yeasterday, while visiting the site for the first time and recieving reports from our opperatives who were there since the tragedy, I couldn't help but notice the lack of State's help. Shouldn't the Navy set a perimeter to secure the site for SAR and investigation? Shouldn't the State provide transports, specialist teams and supplies? It seems the capsulers had to take up not only their reponsibility, but also that which the authorities abandoned in favor of preparing for war.
Unfortunately we encountered serious trouble in our homesystem when a group of young Caldari pilots accused us of supporting the Gallente seeing us moiving some modules using Federation technology. Seems the fear and anger caused by what happened in Malkanen pushed them as far at to attack three of our offices and try to ram few of our transports. A pity indeed that their efforts and focus was directed against those trying to help rather than those whom they should aid at this time.

I am glad that my transport took in part the evacuation of the survivors to the New Caldari system. It was a terrible tragedy.

I think the channel is also a suitable place for those who need to talk about what happened.
