The new Features page for Empyrean Age is swallowing alot of RAM, to the point where my system grinds to a halt and I'm lucky if I can move my mouse enough to shut it down.
It'll open and load the awesome banner (GJ btw) and the RAM usage will just keep increasing by 5-10 more RAM every 5 seconds or so.
I've had it using up to 680 MB RAM on that application alone.
When discussing the issue with alliance members they get it too.
You might wanna look at your settings for that banner :)

I have no problem with the website's banner, AA. It's running fine for me. It's EvE itself that sucks the life out of my laptop :(

I'm sure if you waited it'll fill up.
I have bunches of firefox tabs open and get 186,000k. With that banner it jumped to 500,000k. Still climbing when I exited.
Now it's an awesome banner, awesome trailer, but I can't stick around to enjoy it.

It gets to about 700mb of ram and holds steady, and occasionaly spikes to ~25% CPU usage for me on IE.
No noticable lagginess on my end tho, and it doesnt use any more that that.
/me shrugs.

Firstly, do the Hel's have shield hardeners?
Secondly, after leaving it open for a few minutes, it managed to chomp through to 690mb of RAM usage, it then went up much slower to 705mb and then dropped back down to 698mb. Firefox, 2 tabs.
This is why we can't have nice things! -----

Yep same here. Mine rises from 50-60MB memory usage, then opening that size pops up to 600MB+ usage. Happens in both IE and FF.
But it works & it looks fine even though it slows down incredibly.

Consumed 500mb after only 30 seconds. This is some very, very amateurish programming. Rather than a single flash movie, it loads an extra one for every ship that appears. Each instance consumes 1-5mb, so with 50 ships on each side you get up to 500mb usage. I'm glad I don't pay CCP to design websites for me. _________________________________________ A bad analogy is like a leaky screwdriver |

I use Firefox and it increasing memory too, so the IE bull doesnt fly. It's a flash issue, last time I saw Flash is used in both IE, FF and many other browsers if not all.

For me it jumped from 396 to 454 over the course of the trailer then dropped rapidly back to 399. No problems here then .. but I use that well known buggy IE7
Oh, just checked again and my cpu went from 1% to 2% while loading and back to 1% while playing. However I agree with some of the other posters, its probably your flash thats causing this. As you may have noticed, when the banner loads it shows many ships warping in to the station (not the trailer, the banner). As ive just replaid the trailer I had no increase in ram at all. Just load it, be patient and it should be fine...
