I've spent about 4B buying a Rhea as part of an initiative to deliver goods in null sec. However hours ago (I'm still in vacation mind you) I've stumbled across a researched cap ships, capital components BPOs sale bellow NPC price. As a result I've spent whatever funds I had left while still being far from having gathered all the pieces I would need to switch focus. Probably not a wise course of action but I couldn't resist.
As a result I see myself compelled to pick up where I left with my extremely profitable earlier enterprise (though very stressful). I'm offering a 5B, 20% return/month bond for a minimum of 1 month. I will start with whatever funds are there (provided it's more than 3B isk). Dutch auction in effect.

No one has claimed he scammed anyone as far as I know. He just claimed that was indeed his intent.
This thread is quite funny.
I'm sorry to disappoint you. That was your interpretation of it and as we've seen on many occasions, comprehension isn't exactly your strong point. Whether this bond raises 100k or 5B isk is not important, I will proceed with whatever funds are there and settle the problem with my reputation once and for all.

I sent 10 million isk at the 20% rate.
P.S. Personal money, not related to my IPO
Thank you. I'm under heavy medicamentation to prevent me from trolling. Joking. Hopefully I will be able to return the favor in the future or even help you in some way or the other. I do own a JF you know.

Originally by: MilowFV Ok I guess I have 2 quick questions. Do you want the ISK sent now and if so to whom, LRN?
I guess I will kick my bid up to 350 million ISK total at 20 percent also.
On aside note when to use who and whom allways seem to confuse me.
This char. I've already started buying raw materials, the sooner I get the funding the better.

Not to derail or anything but I think you, LRN, and Ricdic missed a chance to work together. An ideal chance at that yet both of your inclinations towards each other may be hurting your business prospects for purely personal reasons. (An acceptable choice in my book though - If I don't like you I won't like your isk either!)
LRN: You overextended yourself reaching for a very good opportunity. You need financing to continue and are willing to offer a good rate of return.
Ricdic: Here's someone who is holding some recently acquired hard assets (collateral) that could be used to secure a loan ... maybe even at a favorable rate to the applicant.
As I see it, the bpo's in question were bought at something of a steal. Allow them to be used as collateral valuing at 75% of NPC price. This'll get you approval for a loan, though the interest rate will have to be haggled over, and you won't have to deal with the public trolling. If you default on the loan you lose out so I doubt you'll default.
eBank, and Ricdic, couldn't care less about ripping you off for 2 - 3 billion that we, or he, would make if your bpo's were not returned. And, as an added bonus, if your bpo's are stolen you finally get to flame and troll eBank, and Ricdic, with some conviction.
/me shrugs
I have nothing against working with Ricdic or Ebank, however, as I was telling someone that wanted to invest a great deal of isk but also remain anonymous, it is my desire that this bond request benefits the Eve community at large and not a single entity, while also improving whatever reputation I have in the process. Hopefully (since a 20% return is more than possible) it will also spark a general interest for running IPOs even in the current market climate while providing an incentive for people to assume risks as part of the normal investment process. I am also aware of my part in destabilizing the secondary market and I am deeply sorry for those whose honest plans I've hindered.

Time check. You still have 3h left.
I do have to get this bond started, besides, someone that wishes to remain anonymous promised to fill the remaining part of the bond so it is paramount that I know exactly what amount to ask for. Please hurry. Starting with the whole 5B does make a lot of difference when it comes to stocking and diversifying production.

One thing that I have learned from the past is that engaging in forum disputes with those that are determined to discredit you is pointless. I will use that time to increase my undercutting frequency and profit. The result will speak for itself.

Thank you dude. I appreciate that.
I think the time has come to post an update. The venture is doing well, I've taken one day off just recently to avoid burnout. I have some BPOs that haven't been used in ages. I would like to rent those for 1/3 the benefit obtain from the sales. You will have to join my corp though.

I've already managed to break the 20% ROI threshold, bad news is that I am exhibiting signs of burnout I will take a few days off.

Edited by: LRN on 31/05/2008 07:32:59 Margins for what I'm trading dropped quite a lot. Irrespective of that, my next bond will surely not offer 20% interest. Maybe 10% for 5B. The aim is to lower the interest and not to increase the amount loaned, although I could use a little more funding for minerals contracting to make use of whatever BPOs I have left, or a lot more funds and start a joint recycling op because burnout is always a problem.

Every investment is of course a subjective matter, and I actually believe we're seeing the "Ricdic sheep effect" in evidence here - but not, curiously, coming from those who have chosen to invest.

Edited by: LRN on 05/06/2008 17:53:38 Christmas has come earlier than expected, 15 days earlier actually.
1B isk payed as divs to the investors on 05 June 2008. Next payment will occur on 20'th of May 2008 or sooner of course.
Ricdic got his 100k isk (that he invested 3 days after the bond has gone active) back.

Following certain changes to manufacturing implemented in the last patch (the way waste is calculated in particular) it has become increasingly hard to deal with competition and provide both the 20% return the bond strives to uphold and a huge profit for myself without allocating copious amounts of time to 0.01 isk undercutting which is something I truly hate.
For now I'm crashing markets on a regular basis but in the future I might need to partially shift focus towards some less profitable and less stressful projects that I've considered for quite some time now (I'm quite anxious actually). Diversification is also an option here and I'm already training the skills needed for T2 manufacturing/inventing certain highly demanded products but this is something best reserved for later when I'll join an alliance and I'll also have access to moon mining.
Considering the above, I will try to preserve the 20% return for another month as agreed in the terms of the bond and I truly hope that the investors understand the situation.
