This is something I should know by now, but what is the calculation for the capacitor need for any given jump?
I know it is ship specific but I would imagine there is standard calculation based on the mass attribute or something.
Any help or even a slap me in the right direction would be appreciated.

No idea but with warp drive op 5, it will never be an issue. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Edited by: Hanneshannes on 21/05/2008 16:45:20 Even with warp drive op 5, if you put an MWD on any non thorax cruiser, you will drop out of warp on those really long warps (150-180AU).
On topic, I think it varies from ship type to ship typ. I remember my badger using barely any cap even on a 150AU+ warp, while my raven used half its cap.
Industrials don't have more cap then BS right?

I would say it seems to be a function of mass versus AU of warp versus anything to do with ship type. I've made 200AU jump in a pod and I use exactly ONE bar of cap to do it when most ships would dump most of their cap to accomplish the same feat.

This has been my experience too, I just can't for the life of me find the formula.

It was pondered out and solved in this thread.

Pods can always make any and all warps without cap problems, regardless of distance.
