Was flying around Curse in my crow this morning when I approached a gate at break neck speed, just as I was about to jump I notice a silly VOTF frigate target and try and shoot me. I manage to type in local "Stay there" before I jump through on auto pilot. So I jump back through and notice the frigate is a merlin (omgwtfroflroflomg) so I run over to him and web and scramble him then fire 3 cruise missiles and he goes boom. Silly merlin pilot thinksa he can kill a crow.
Major Spaz > the only thing i noticed was

Major Spaz > man i looked right at your ship?

Lord Zap > you were webbed, scrambled and in a merlin
Major Spaz > the will eat your missiles
Lord Zap > how could you possible have held up from 3 cruise missiles?
Major Spaz > i have taken interceptors in merlins
Major Spaz > lord zap i can take them
Lord Zap > lol go get another merlin and we'll see
Major Spaz > your cruise would not have hit me
Major Spaz > man 21 jumps later
Lord Zap > yayaya blah blah blah
Major Spaz > no
Major Spaz > not today
Major Spaz > you are a*****y **** and i will own you in not see near future.
No 'gg', no 'that was fun', just a lame excuse and a lack of knowledge about all things EVE.
Is this the standard of players VOTF is accustomed to recruiting recently? What with several VOTF players begging to join our cause perhaps this is indicative of Curse Alliances demise?

Gotta have sympathy for you there, Lord Zap. It's happened to me on a few occasions too. People who I have killed have convoed me and explained to me that they really could have killed me instead, "if only [insert reason here]."

That is our master plan to drive Lord Zap insane... We are going to recruit and outfit some of the most clean smack talking people we can find and have them follow Zap around all day in frigs while communicating to him... We figure that after 5 days his brain will turn to mush and all will be right again with the galaxy.

I get pwned (what ever that means) on a regular basis and i've been playing since release... my excuse is I'm just cr4p at pvp.
Still i have tonnes of fun regardless of losing... thank God for insurance

With the risk of being flamed to death, I want to say something.
You are probably a very leet pilot and good at eve and have alot to brag about, but your approach is all wrong. If you start out arrogant, you will probably end up with smacktalking. Look at the highlighted parts of your post. They are downgrading and mocking the other pilot, who after all stayed and fought the notorious Lord Zap. If you instead had been forthcomming and said something like 'gg' or 'I salute you for your honor', instead of mocking him, then he might have done the same.
Bear in mind, that I cant see the convo prior to what you posted, so I dont know what was said before. You might actually have said 'nice fight'.

well a merlin is hardly a match for a crow 
i would be suprised if u couldnt beet him zappy and as for him engaging u first..well maybe we VOTF boys arnt afraid of a little PvP even if the odds are stacked against us...i have never backed out of a frigate engament even if its against an interceptor and i am in my Tristan.

K guys I wasn't bragging about killing a Merlin in my crow us that would be just silly. I was pointing out the lameness of the I would have killed you but... (insert excuse here) attitude, thats all. My ingame experience would have to be pretty dull in order for me to brag about killing a Merlin.

Its obviously dull enough to post convo's to the boards though. Post some more? Im quite interested to see what everyone else calls you.  And then maybe someone can jump on the fun day band wagon, and post what you say to them. But I think the stuff you say gets petitioned more than laughed at.  So would probably ended up in a locked thread, and then it wouldnt be fun anymore.

And i am laffing a bit as u prolly were.
The other day i didn't give props to TWD who decided to blow me up.
He took me out in seconds with just blasters in the Gal inty he was in, his words in local were
" like my guns ? "
My response was simply: " aye "

Okay, it's conceivably possibly to beat a crow interceptor in a Merlin and good pilot could even do it consistantly against an average Crow pilot.
Merlin needs to be packing 1-2 smartbombs plus the launchers. It needs mwd + web and lows with either cap chargers or speed booster modules (to keep above cruise) though cap chargers would be more sensible because the merlin is a slow ship anyhow and getting it above the magic cruise barrier means jumping through hoops.
Basic idea is that when the crow closes to web you web it back. You smartbomb its cruise (with expert timing) and you return your own cruise. It will probably take 4 cruise to kill a standard issue crow so will take you a while of holding the web.
Its doable certainly. But absolutely not a walk in the park, so "Major Spaz" was certainly being a bit hopeful.
For the record Major Spaz ... I will happily go against you in my Crow vs your Merlin and would be extremely disappointed if you scored one kill in ten.

Major Spaz  I've had the "pleasure" of him in Mara, within 3secs of decloaking he began smack talking how I was a noob and he would kill me in his kestrel (I have a 9mil bounty he was after, wayhey)
As it was 1.30am I smack talked back but got bored of his bull****. To top it off after telling me I was completely dead, he backed of after learning I was in a rifter. There are a few people in this game who should just learn to use the uninstall features the game comes with. This person is one of them.
How he has ended up in VoTF is baffling, that's really scraping the barrel for new pilots
