A quick note: The new accuracy formula (mentioned in this Dev Blog) is now in effect on Chaos. The tracking and signature radius stats are NOT in final form.
If you personally test things out on Chaos, please post your responses in this thread, otherwise make general comments here.

Edited by: Eight on 04/05/2004 15:53:47 I'm updating with some different values for signature radius. This will INVALIDATE LOCK ON TIMES which can be adjusted later.
Changes are...
Frigate 30 -> 100 cruiser 150 -> 200 bship 500 -> 400
This should bring things 'closer' together.
Also please note, NPCs will be ignored for the first part of testing and will thus have entirely bogus values. So you'll have to pretty much ignore combat with NPCs for feedback purposes.

Updating Chaos with some new values.
NPCs now have sane values for accuracy and signature radius.
The short range turrets (pulse lasers, autocannons, blasters) have improved tracking.
Previously all turrets in a single type and class (example: Hybrid type, Railgun class. Or Energy type, Pulse Laser class) and size (S M L) had the same tracking speed. That is 250mm railgun, 200mm railgun, and dual 150mm railgun had the same tracking speed. Now they have tracking speeds proportional to their range.
Microwarpdrives now give an increase to signature radius equal to their boost to speed. So a frigate at top speed with a MWD should be equally hittable as the same frigate in the same situation at top speed without a MWD.
--------------------- Please post any feedback from direct personal testing on Chaos in this thread, and reply with all other comments here (which I am in fact reading much of).

Most of the comments within this thread have been writen under the premise that the client will maintain the old missile system. I would hope that most people (damming the tracking changes) now realise it will not empower frigates to invinsibility, but necessary to keep them in play. Frigs will need to stay in battle longer to see off there targets.
We are actually both working very closely on each project. It's just I got around to posting this and he got around to posting that. Though in hindsight it would probably have been better to coordinate the information release more closely.
