I tried to farm Worlds Collide the other day, I killed everything but didn't touch the heron with the mission objective in. After down time I headed back but it turned out the missions details said completed. The first deadspace warp gate had disappeared - so I couldn't even go back and get the stuff from the heaven, and thus couldn't complete the mission.
So how much can you kill?
Thanks

AFAIK, as soon as you enter the last room - whether you loot the Heron or not - the mission is flagged as completed, meaning it doesn't respawn, and if you haven't already grabbed the objective item you're screwed. Just stay out of the last room and you'll be fine.

To add a little more detail - I have two different fittings for this mission. I snipe the first room with sentry drones, then I tank the two second rooms with a tanker setup, being careful not to aggro the entire room. Salvage each room before moving on and you may get a faction respawn. Avoid the last room and you should make about 300 million in a week of farming.

I claim that you can make between 600 and 800M a week w/o farming anything.

not true... you can enter the last room, and i do when farming it. just do not shoot the 3 battleships that agro upon entry... kill everyting else. and leave those 3 and ti will never flag complete, and it will respawn after downtime. this will provide another 7 mil or so in bounties per day, not inlcuding loot and salvage.

What.
So there isn't a timer for this mission. Could you keep doing this for weeks and weeks?

Every mission has a 7 day timer. If you start a mission and don't finish it, it will respawn in its original state after downtime.
If you don't finish the mission and turn it in before the 7 day timer, you lose standings with that agent and corp.
So basically for Worlds Collide 4, you can do the first 3 rooms of this mission, and kill everything in the last room (except the first 3 BSÆs that agro you) 7 times. This gives you average minimum of 300mil+ in bounties, loot, and salvage for a weeks worth of farming this one mission, plus 14 chances of faction loot, which IÆve personally had more than 500mil worth drop at once from a single Serpentis Overseer.

Actually, the chance of a faction spawn in WC is checked each time you warp into the second room - so, if you want to you can warp into the second room multiple times until the overseer appears.
World's Collide, The Blockade, Angel Extravaganza, Guristas Extravaganza and maybe a couple of others have a chance of dropping faction loot. Look for the overseers or faction spawns. ------------

I don't know if this has changed when they nerfed the mission, but back when WC was still fearsome and had all ships respawning, and you could still use the directional scanner on NPCs, it worked on a timer. I extensively farmed the Overseers back then, and an Overseer spawned at some random time when the mission was active (had to warp there after DT to activate it). So I went there like every other hour for a scan. Could see right away whether it was a real or fake one. And it would stay the same for the whole uptime regardless of how often you killed it. So if you were stuck with a fake, you just left it alone until next DT. When it was a real commander, you went in, killed him, looted, went out, and kept on scanning to find the next one. I have once gotten 4 commanders from one mission that way between two DTs (normally it is only two though).
Alas, I have no idea whether that is still how it works, and I am not checking as it was not lucrative in the first place, only did it for the kick of commander cans, but now that we have faction stuff in LP stores, the kick is gone...

Actually you can shoot those 3 battleships too. You just have to keep one of the rats alive from the first agroing group. This can be the weakest BC.

Edited by: Lrrp on 03/06/2008 11:41:54 Well this is interesting. I thought CCP had nerfed WC to where you could not farm it. And I never knew about having to keep re-entering the 2nd rooms to get a overseer to spawn. I have WC offered to me so I will try out the tips you have posted.
Also Leandro, how did you tell if the overseer was a fake? I've shot overseers in WC and could not tell the difference.
