Day 10:
Well Blob Sunday lived up to its name with the usual fleets passing through, due to the very hostile nature as usual we had to pick our fights.
The first major fight of the day was three surge members flying a Rapier, Mega and Astarte. The enemy brought two Drakes, Nighthawk, Belicose and an Omen. They all died in what was an epic fight our Mega escaping with low armor.
We then had to avoid a 20 man antipirate blob as usual, Gemeinshaft(ed) often seen in the area didn't get any kills due to being unable to keep a point.
With more war targets building up in the area we had to start to pay attention to them. We jumped their Megathron on station with two Dominixs and my Rapier, he was joined soon after by two stealth bombers and a Basilisk I primaried the stealth bombers who soon recieved remote reps from the basilisk. We eventually forced them to dock and camped them into the station. A hour or so later the Basilisk tried to make a run for it he undocked to be greated by my Rapier and was caught outside docking range, shorly after when friends were called in the Basilisk died. We then resumed the camp and a Megathron undock he instawarped to a safe spot straight after a Raven attempted to do the same. Luck was not in his favor a sucessful bump knocked him out of allignment shortly after enough points were placed on him to overcome his three warp core stabs and he died the death he deserved.
The Mercs then managed to gather up a large group of battleships and unfortunately I had to leave in the middle of scouting them. They fielded two Mega's, two Abaddons, Raven, Scorp, Typhoon, Sleipnir, Rapier, Prophecy, Blackbird, two Stealth Bombers and an Interceptor. The fleet we had consisted of an Abaddon, Geddon, Domi, Mael, Raven, Typhoon, Devoter, Hurricane, Manticore, Thorax and three Falcons.
This is how I was told the battle went down so may not be 100% accurate The enemy fleet was in position on the Suj gate in Tama we positioned our Falcons on the gate being careful not to get them uncloaking each other. Then the sh1t hit the fan the enemy fleet jumped and warped directly to our safe spot. Lacking the ECM support at the start of the fight it was a case of shooting fish in a barrel it was much more even once the ECM support was back. Losses were taken on both sides but ours were considerably worse. We lost a Geddon, Domi, Mael, Typhoon, Thorax, Manticore and Falcon. (The Falcon was Kasade so we expected him to die ) The enemy fleet lost a Scorp, Prophecy and Mega.
The battle however was an enjoyable one and smack free, the three unaffilated battleships in the enemy fleet swayed the odds in their favor with overwhelming DPS. We learnt several lessons from this engagement with it being one of the few fights where we had more than 10 guys in channel all wanting their say. The safespot well that was promptly deleted and in future it won't be so easy to catch us with our pants down. Nice job whoever probed us though.
All in all a good day with plenty of fights and Surge's first losses in the war, lets just hope it takes them 10 days to get another three. We are learning fast about larger engagements and are willing to pay in ships, sooner or later the pieces will all be in place.
(The battle reports for us getting jumped are here and here.)

Actually, we're trying to escape your camp hehe, hence the stabs and we had a insta warp setup, but he got a dysnc (no i'm not making escuses =p) and the insta warp wasn't working, he undocked went to warp nothing happening then next thing he knows hes in a pod, didn't see other ships or anything come, hes petitioned the loss.
As for that battle, i enjoyed catching your fleet with their pants down hehe. ----------------------------

Your probally feeling the same as me then this is becoming a timezone war. At times we camp you in others you camp us in, I'm pretty sure the reason he couldn't use the insta is someone got a pretty awesome bump on him sent him doing flips.
We have to be caught off guard once in a while

Day 11:
Today has been a rough one for me with being ill (sympathy welcome), however the war progresses nicely. We carried on with piracy as usual catching a noob in a CNR playing with his new toy; its life was short the setup on it shows why.
We then caught a war target trying to undock from Tama station which is a huge mistake caught outside docking range by a Rapier who was shortly joined by two battleships his Omen class cruiser didnĘt last long.
Later in Onatoh after killing a few minor now war targets a Taranis and Hound decided they wanted to play with us. I force Branko into his Jaguar who was quite happy to be bait, he caught the Taranis and had him dead by the time I had uncloaked my Rapier to chase after the Hound who escaped. Within the hour the pair were back again so we went for the same tactic their Taranis died again and their Hound had the close call; almost as close as when I decloaked him in Tama a couple of days earlier.
Things quietened down for a while so we resumed camping to keep those bank balances healthy. Elsewhere in Tama an alliance gang removed another war target from existence killing a Prophecy with a quite horrible fitting. We formed up to take on their four man battleship gang but our eight man reinforcement gang of mainly battleships was spotted travelling through Onatoh and they wisely went to the safety of Nourv.
Then the final battle of the day, which wasnĘt against war targets, ended on a slightly sour note. We lost my Rapier and a Devoter in an attempt to jump a Brutix, Rokh and Dominix. We did kill the Dominix and Rokh which made me feel slightly better, however charging the Brutix with my Rapier wasnĘt a good idea I was dead and buried as soon as he engaged the web on me.
The good news is the Rapier had paid for its self several times over which allowed me to purchase three battleships and a new Rapier. Who said crime doesnĘt pay!

Day 12:
With news of concord being incapacitated all hell broke loose. Never did I think I would see the day where I would be thankful for Concords presence. Pirates seemed to be flooding into High sec from everywhere making our work impossible.
However the hell didn't last too long and we were able to get a few kills at the end of the night, however nothing of significance. The appearance of the Black Rise region has extended our pipe an almost infinate amount of jumps, hopefully this will make the Mercs work even harder never being able to keep us in one place.
Now I sleep easy anticipating carnage tomorrow.

The amount of carnage going on is just mad ;) Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Edited by: Panzer Goddess on 11/06/2008 22:00:39 TELL ME ABOUT IT LOL. Never seen a noob fleet as large as this afternoon from caldari who fielded a little over 200 pilots. And btw on your falcon pilot, learn to field without an ecm pilot and learn to refine your skills in large engagements, remote repping, etc, and relay on other things besides ecm, you will get a better feel for it in the end.
Learn how to use the bump feature using your own wingman, and as well velocity factors and transvelocity of smaller ships. And work the 0km distance factors when it comes to close range guns, 90% of the time a 0km distance will net you 0 damage from close range ships. :)
good write ups mate, ive seen you guys around, pirates seem to behaving hay days or bad days in these times in the blackrise.

Day 13:
The unlucky day. Not for us however, it seemed like everyone else was constantly getting owned whilst Surge flew in relative safety. That is all except an unfortunate command ship loss due to not using our instawarps.
Our guys spent a brief amount of time in Tama killing two Drakes and a Arazu which we were fortunate to catch. We then caught a Geddon in Onatoh he put up a valiant fight against two of our battleships.
The noobs in Drakes then respawned, we disposed of a Drake with a faction probe launcher. The ransomed a Rokh for 120mil kerchinggg! Shortly after we killed a Mega the noobs were coming in thick and fast today. Check our that guys fitting you will love it!
So off I went to do some work and whilst I was gone our camp caught a raven and a few other small ships.
When I returned it was to see 38 people in Onatoh... WTF! I did a quick scan to find they were sitting outside one of the new complexs and they had a Sin with them. We gathered the 5 guys we had ready and dived straight in there!
So what was we up against mainly a mix of cruisers, frigates and interceptors with a couple of heavier ships. We lost nobody in the attack although Tanis died to them like ten minutes earleir at a gate. So what did we get well theres the sin kill for a start and the other 16 kills on top of that. A very profitable fight with us splitting up the loot including the faction MWD from an inty who thought it was a good idea to tackle a cane from 8km.
The factions being at war was causing a huge influx of guys into lowsec and we were bringing home the iskies. Once we had killed a gang of five Drakes, only taking a Blackbird as a loss, my profit for the day hit 100mil. Not a bad days work!
Oh and on a war note we have seen hardly any war targets the ones we did see died they were flying a Jaguar, Cormorant and a Punisher. |

Im also vicitim of this illness we call primary. So far every doctor ive talked to says its mostly due to having a name that starts with a letter in the begining of the alphabet or oddly enough a high bounty.
Only ease to this pain ive found is to kill them before you die.

I must say you lot make me wish I was still PVP'ing! and it annoys me that this sort of fighting isn't find so easily in the fringes of 0.0 space where it has mostly turned to blob warfare, like it is in deep 0.0.
Please keep up the diary, it takes away the monotony of waiting for my new laptop to arrive at work, and keeps me from doing any work in the first place!

The Geddon was made primary and eventually died however we had misjudged the circumstances they had a falcon. We spent half the battle jammed out Dartauw losing a Maelstom and Cpt Branko losing both his Hurricane and Jaguar due to being keen to ***** the killmails. It seems that these guys may be another of the mercenary corporations about to wardec us due to the messages left on the Geddon kill it was a great battle so we look forward to fighting these guys in the future.
That was A fun fight, but nope, it was just a random low sec roaming gang of ours. |

Day 14:
Well todays entry is going to be a short one unfortunately. Today we killed a lot of ships but it was all mainly frigates and cruisers nothing of real interest. JackBear however did pick up another faction MWD off a Crusader who went down to his rifter.
When I started writing this entry we had killed 14 frigates and 14 cruisers which just goes to show just how many guys are being dragged into lowsec. Myself and Craggerz a new member did get into a nice little fight in one of the complexs killing a Thrasher, Ishkur and Ishtar.
The little fights throughout my day were broken up by the occasional Battlecruiser kill with a Ferox and two Brutix's meeting our guns today. Oh and the heavy interdictor kill that just appeared on the killboard don't know the story about that one.
Anyway its carnage in lowsec right now so we expect it to get hotter over the weekend. I lost my Hurricane today too 99% to rats due to simply not being able to warp out the same for my pod; this is what happens when an area is 1000% more active than it is under pre patch conditions. I haven't taken all my loot to market but I'm sure it covers more than my loss of the Hurricane just annoying the situation in which it was lost, as long as it remains profitable I will be here.
The corp lost 3 BC's, 2 Cruisers, 1 Frigate and a HAC today so not a great day for the corp. We have a lot of new guys coming in and learning the methods behind our madness this is probally why the month's efficiency is at 89.18% and the overall dropped from 93% to roughly 91%. Oh and we haven't seen a war target all today infact it has almost been 48 hours since we last saw one. I really don't know what these guys are being paid to do right now, because they aren't hassling Surge.

The Devoter kill you saw on the KB is nothing special, he just had the misfortune of waltzing in on our camp, and capdead Devoters don't tank very well. I did see a couple of war targets yesterday. They saw me moving about in a transport ship, so when I'd docked up they decided to try and camp me in station with a Megathron and Hurricane.
I undocked in my Maelstrom and took a few pot shots at each, with them docking up after a few seconds. After the third or forth time, they gave up and warped off elsewhere. So I got back to my supply runs.
This morning I was again using a transport ship in and out of low sec, and saw a war target in Onatoh. Three jumps later I undocked to find a hound uncloak next to me. Shame I wasn't flying something with fast lock that could have grabbed him. |
