Day 15:
The war is growing tiresome now with no engagements of note for almost three days. I saw my first war target for four days today and we chased his Rapier out of town with Rifters.
Lowsec remains pure carnage, with a huge influx of people into lowsec to help their faction. This comes with mixed feelings for all pirates over new eden; for the best this means increased profits the rest well a lot of tough days.
Surge has been thriving under the new conditions in our local area. The day started with some small ship kills and a Myrm closely followed by another Myrm and a Drake.
A few hours passed and we resumed camping this time chosing a complex. Firstly an unfortunate Cerberus warps in and I grab him he dies thanks to Cpt Branko as I actually cloaked whilst I had him tackled and webbed. (I failed there ) Some other guys down the pipe were travelling to join us and killed a Vagabond on gate on the way Vagas don't last long under sentry fire.
So the camp continued and I killed one of the most bizzarly fitted Manticore's ever. We all took a drive to Tama and set up camp there at a complex it seemed to be paying off. We wait and then another Ishtar appears and meets his end thanks to two Rapiers. His friend who followed him in whilst flying a Dominix died also.
Camping here was definately sucessful with us killed a Falcon and a Cerberus who appeared shortly after. Things unfortunately went sour after we killed a drake four battleships and two falcons landed with us our Mega wasnt able to get out and died a painful death. The loss war recouped with loot we had gathered from the slaugter that morning.
When we resumed camp it was elsewhere with Tama now being too hot. Once again we camped a complex and killed a Ishtar within a few minutes of being there. Pyrasanth then managed to tackle us a Tempest on the gate in who was shortly joined by a Hyperion both of them died once we dropped three battleships on them. We were fortunate that our Rapier could hold the point with all the heavy neuts he had on him he was able to stay there long enough for my Typhoon and mates in a Geddon and Raven to take over.
Not wanting to get caught out by the defensive forces the militias form we moved once again to Tama. Pyra managed to tackle another Ishtar in his Rifter who then died to our rifter and zealot force. Later that night we also eventually managed to kill a Drake with our Rifters once my corp mate in a Ishtar arrived.
That pretty much concluded todays activities and yeah its been a good one, a long one none the less. We are learning to cope with these huge numbers and profits are up we just have to fly safe and in numbers. Personally I can't wait for 10-20 man Rifter gangs when we get round to forming one up. Also second lesson learnt is Ishtars really have a death wish.

Originally by: TheZiggy I did see a couple of war targets yesterday. They saw me moving about in a transport ship, so when I'd docked up they decided to try and camp me in station with a Megathron and Hurricane.
I undocked in my Maelstrom and took a few pot shots at each, with them docking up after a few seconds. After the third or forth time, they gave up and warped off elsewhere. So I got back to my supply runs.
Actually, my corpy scouted Tama and saw Pyra was there, i was gonna assume if i engaged you Pyra would come in his domi so we docked and waited on our 3rd corp to come to help us take on your mael and domi, but you left by the time he came.. Also wheres your mention of your Crane loss, rigged and had dread mods in it. ----------------------------

Not on your killboard, not on our killboard, so it never happened? I know your guys have problems with posting losses, but not posting kills thats some sort of joke. This war is currently an epic fail, and is going to go on for a long long time.
We want fights and we don't mind losing ships; the fact that war targets are only willing to fly cheap interceptors and stealth bombers means no real fights are being fought. Yes this isn't a case for all of them but the fact we only see four battleships from a corp of 200 is disappointing.
I have to say that Merchants of Mischief are even more disapointing. The war against them started fun but they just ran out of steam. We saw one of them for the first time in about a week yesterday and that was a guy who had just joined them. I really don't know what the issue is COME TO TAMA AND ONATOH AND WE WILL BE THERE!
Thats it for me today until my war diary entry tonight, just venting some 'omgwtf this war is boring' steam.

Day 16:
Well today was possibly the quietest one in a month or so, we even contemplated shooting a POS. Only 12 kills today for Surge of which a kill of mine has to be my favorite. A guy making a cyno in a Helios thinking he was safe at his POS.
Oh and I got blobbed today losing a Hurricane. I managed to burn 180km off the gate before I died but couldn't get out thanks to the Falcon that kept me jammed and the crow that kept me tackled.
The war well once again the war with Merchants of Mischief is over, they seriously need to learn to pay their bills. The war against RHN is starting to bore me too its better to be camped into station by ten battleships than have war targets in local who you can't fight. They remain cloaked no matter how juicy the bait you throw at them is Rapier refused to go for an Ishtar even!
I am sure this war will go on for a while longer and I hope they bring more of the 4 man battleship gangs, which are fightable. We should probably have an organized fight 5 v 5 some time just for the giggles, not sure if mercs who are meant to be shooting us would do that though.

Lesser men have fought against worse odds and still won! Kessie what kessie you seriously have to get your board fixed mate. We presumed you hadn't done anything since Monday.
Surge only came across because we are the cause of all these wardec's anyway, so we are atleast going to help our alliance mates out. We are slighly disapointed that the losses due to war targets on our killboard value less than 1/5 of an average week's losses.
Surge has always been the target yet we have to travel around to find war targets. It seems the client didn't set strong enough achievable objectives, the clients failing not the merc's.

Day 17:
Well this Sunday has been a extremely profitable once. The day is winding to a close as most days do with a gate camp, so as I type I listen to the constant stream of intel from our scouts.
Anyway back to what is important what we have actually done today, we haven't seen any war targets today except Boris who sat and watched our camp. Boris is my new pet he is fun to talk with and keeps me amused on local when the traffic is low. So the day started with a dive into Tama killing a Mega and an interesting Drake with no resists.
So whilst the flames burn in Tama we return to Onatoh, soon after a Helios died upon landing on the gate of a complex, we love these things they make for great camping spots. We then killed yet another drake he was T2 rigged and full of T2 recharge modules yeah he can recharge his shield in 60 seconds but he didn't live that long having only a 500dps tank.
The carebears kept on coming with a Mega, Raven, Drake, Drake and another Drake dying withing the next hour.
We broke up for a little while and two hours later I grabbed my Rifter and went to join Pyrasanth's gang in Tama. We managed to grab a BOB Vagabond who decided it was fun to primary my Rifter so I ran whilst he died. Then out of the sky fell a BOB Deimos.. WTF! We killed him and collected the nice faction loot. Thinking it was all over we started to grab loot, when a Huginn appeared and pointed up my Rifter. I jet my loot thinking I was about to get pwned but he takes point off so I run to station after scooping my loot.
So whilst I dropped off the loot and changed out to my Huginn three falcons had decloaked to help their Huginn friend one dies another escapes in armor the other bugs out. The Huginn pilot then makes the mistake of letting me get withing web range so web goes on him and I dive bomb in for a point on him, he dies shortly after.
Just when I thought all the fun was over we found a noob raven in belt checking wrecks, he didn't live long his right click fit to active ship fitting explains why. I then docked up and had a little break whilst Pyra led a roaming gang who got a few kills.
So when I get back I refresh our board two hours have passed and no more kills, something must be wrong. I jump onto Ventillo to hear we just reinforced a POS and were about to do a bit of camping in the next five minutes. So camp is setup and within 15 minutes we killed four guys; a Harpy, Ishtar, Rokh and Curse. The ishtar was faction fitted and BOB again which made me happy.
As I was typing this we also killed two more tier three fail setup battleships a honor tanked Hyperion and a Rokh with large shield extenders. So the week is over and here is the summary:
328 killed (5677Mil) 25 lost (868mil)

Day 18:
So in typical style the war targets come out to play once I catch up on lost sleep. The first engagement was when two ravens and a griffin decided to camp a couple of our guys in station. Seth undocked in his Mael and instapopped the griffin pretty much the Ravens the agressed him and General undocked in a Mega. The first Raven fell relatively fast on having a buffer tank, the second one docked just as he was about to hit armor.
Then the second engagement Seth agreed to 1v1 the remaining Raven in his Maelstrom. Seth lost this one but I'm sure the story will change with a T2 tank fitted (god damn skill intensive minmatar).
Then for the third engagement the war targets fielded Bhalgorn, raven, basilisk, guardian and rapier. This was against our Mega, Phoon, Abaddon, Raven, Cane and Thanatos. When we realised just how big the buffer tank on the Balgorn was the Raven was called primary his tank broke before he could deagress.
When I woke to my slumber to the good news of war target kills I thought it would be a good idea to vent some steam in Tama. We soon bumped into an interceptor gang my Rapier and Jacks Cane making mince out of a Taranis, Crow and Claw.
We got a few more small kills and then bumped into a Deimos at the control bunker in Tama. He had a friend in a Falcon who we primaried he got our in low armor. Jacks Cane died to the Deimos but I finished him off with a little assistance. (The killmail is missing for it ) We were fortunate in the fact his falcon friend came back he died shorly afterwards, although I have to admit his setup is pretty damn good!
The rest of the day well a few slow paced kills and a lot of camping; the kill of the day goes to Branko killing an autopiloting magnate full of high end minerals.
The war targets refound their balls I am pretty sure there are plenty more fun engagements to come, hoepfully I can be part of it. Still a nice start to the week!

Day 19:
The war continues and the war targets continue to not show a presence. 200 freaking war targets and I struggle to find more than one at any point in time.
So the usual camps and ganks continue, and the age of the merchant is not yet upon us. The day started with a freighter kill, this time a Charon. The drop was terrible someone needs to fix CCP's dice for drops. Destroyed items included a CNR, 7 CN Cruise Launchers, 6 CN Seige Launchers, CN Invuln Field, 7 CN Heavy Launchers, CN X-large Shield Booster, Drake and a Hulk. As for what actually dropped a Badger a shuttle and a few tourists... don't we get all the good loot.
The factions in the area still think its ok to travel solo so more ships went down to our camps throughout the day. They included a Domi, Drake, Drake, Cane and Astarte.
A relatively quiet day today, think we were suffering a serious case of depression due to possibly the worst drop from a freighter in the history of Surge. We just have to keep killing them and sooner or later more shiney loot will appear.

Day 20:
Well by now I am getting as sick of this war as you are reading the same old 'we didn't see any war targets today'. So with no war targets, except for a cloaked Boris in his Rapier, we carried on with business as usual.
The day started with a couple of battleships being downed, the first a Dominix followed by a Raven. So the usual noob massacre continued with people still insisting they don't need scouts!
The day got a bit more interesting when some blues decided to shoot us, so we pwned them. We then found a very noobish raven sat in an asteroid belt in Tama, his last mistake in that ship. Things started to get a bit too hot in Tama so I decided it would be best to GTFO.
To Onatoh! I joined up the gate camp Surge had going and the discussion on how our newest member went from +5 to -5 in a single days camping. The camp was relatively successful and caught a few guys including a Raven and Myrm. So that concludes another day of camping and a quiet day for Surge.

A thoroughly enjoyable read, keept it up.
The ranis popping a rapier though is going down in history, i cant believe he had the balls to try that and actually get away with it.
In saying that - with no tank - a gank ranis will do a good amount of damage to a rapier - you'd need drones deployed or else he'd probably still kill a nano fit faster than the webs could get his travesal down. -------

Day 21:
Well todays entry is going to be a lot shorter seen as it got eaten by the forums the first attempt at posting it. I could conclude it to we killed some stuffs but I will elaborate a little, even though it annoys me I have to write it all over again.
The major engagement of the day was intended to be against war targets who were camping Tama station. They were camping with two Mega's, an Astarte, Ranis, Manticore, Prophecy and some other stuff. We decided to engage them with a mix of BS and Recons mainly, we managed to sucessfully jam their damage dealers and the Mega's docked we looked to be ontop of the fight.
Just when we were fighting our winning battle things had to go wrong, both the Caldari and Gallente militia show up and decide they wanted to shoot the blinky members of our fleet. I personally got my Mael the hell out of dodge but we lost a Sleipnir, Curse and rifter no war targets were involved on the mails.
So off we went to Onatoh to avoid the laggyness of 150 guys in Tama. A couple of the war targets followed fortunately. We played with a Manticore of theirs who was lobbing cruise missiles at our Rapier sat on station I almost instapopped him with my Tempest which I had setup to snipe specially for the ocassion. So he gets away in structure but returns a few seconds later after repairing he cloaks when he spots the Rapier 20km from him but we have two Rapiers on the scene with drones out to decloak him. The attempt is sucessful and he is warp scrambled he drops us some nice Arbie cruise launchers.
Then we camp for a while killing a Cerb, Muninn, Hyp and two Domi's. The Hyp was a nice little autopiloting ship with seven 10mil isk rails, T2 fittings and 500 datacores in his cargohold. The drop was modest and lined our wallets nicely for the night.
My favorate kill of the day has to be the Dominix we couldn't kill it must have taken us atleast 10 minutes to kill the guy we just had to make him burn those cap boosters and shoot a load of lead into his ass. He managed to kill a cane of ours on his way down too was a great fight I ordered we stop around until the guy died.

Day 22:
Today was an interesting one with lots of fun and mischief. The day started with me spotting a cyno open in Tannolen, I warp my Rapier in at 100 and see an Arazu with the Archon guarding it. So what to do well there was only one real choice, everyone jumps in and warps to 0 on the cyno. We had just enough DPS to bleed through into structure in-between each capital remote rep cycle. So the Arazu died and the carrier pilot wasnĘt happy.
Then he released fighters and sent them after the Drake who was 20km away from the carrier. Meh griefing time! I web a fighter and call it primary; I think three died before he got them all home. We attempt to bump him off the station but he hastily docks up.
The fun and games carried on throughout the day, with an alliance mate Pyrasanth responding to a shout of war targets in Tama. He arrives to find a Malediction orbiting a can near a gate, he decloaked his Rapier and grabs him his life was short lived Hobgoblins hurt intys!
So things go quiet for a while and then what happens the same war target shows up five hours later, once again Pyra decloaked his Rapier to kill him. I check their board thats 4 Inty losses for this guy today ouch!
I return a couple of hours later and holy crap mother of batman wtf 35 Gallente militia guys in local. I undock to see that its a mix of mainly cruisers with some frigates and assault frigates. I shouted out for a suicide op to try do these guys and well suicide it was, we lost a Hyp, Phoon and Armageddon. What did we get in exchange a few frigates and General disconnecting pre and midfight great fun, but what the hell I dock insure the next of my Phoons and get ready to go again.
Suicide Op Mk II was a bit more sucessful we move to the remaining complex gate in system and move away from it in order to use smartys. Then ten minutes later after some smack on local the gallente blob responds, in warps 30 guys. Drones released Gennys dominix engaged and the drone swarm from atleast 10 of the Cruisers lands on Genny... smartys active... POP. Dps downed to a managable amount now for some remote rep work. They change primary to Ziggy in his geddon and we keep him alive with 4 large remote armor reps whilst slaughtering what we could.
I could have sworn I saw them shooting each other there were more wrecks than we got killmails that is for sure! Then a Falcon lands with us at 0 on the complex shiney gifts falling out the sky. Falcon primary, Falcon dead! We carry on fighting until we run out of cap boosters and Ziggy goes down hard. I'm called primary and with no remote reps on me it was hurting! I lock everyone who has a point on me and get to work drones on one frigate, torps and AC's on another. The points on me start to drop and drop I down the last one and warp out to safety. Genny unfortunately didn't manage to remove all the points on him and then disconnected dying to the swarm soon after.
Great suicide op the fight must have lasted 15minutes at least! Here are the details of the pain we recieved from the blob. So 50mil down after losing my Phoon time to do some camping and make it back!
The camp starts and the noobs start flowing I made back the ISK and some more. The first a Megathon died before I managed to get to him in my rapier. I love people who fit 10mil isk turrets, we got four of them. Then a bestower appears and woooot he drops a +5 implant unfortunately one pops too along with a +4.
Thanny on scan in the complex! We land only a Domi to kill, no carrier but awesome loot! Great day!!!

Day 23:
Well today the war targets showed up once again, unfortunately at the time where there were no Surge members and all the usual FC's were sleeping. There were however a few good engagements.
The first was a three Krieger members versus two war targets, who were both in stealth bombers and both died. I think the plan went for our blackbird to jam them whilst our inty and Stealth Bomber killed them, whatever they did it seemed to work!
The second engagement was full of misinformation and mistakes, however I'm sure lessons have been learnt for all the partys involved. We lost two Drakes a Crow and Stiletto, our final guy docked to safety. Lesson Learnt: Engaging war targets in battleships with guardian support isn't clever in Drakes.
The third engagement stinks of fail even more so than the second. We lost a Raven, Drake, Thorax, Manti and Stiletto; all in exchange for a manticore. Lesson Learnt: Insurance makes losing T1 ships acceptable. Either that or learn from lesson 1.
Still the war rages on and we have less Drakes now ; first thing I ask if anyone is flying a Drake in my fleet is do you have anything else. I am yet to be FC for any war target engagments other than shooting war targets trapped in station of Stealth Bombers hiding around a station, so the Drake fad continues. 2 - 1 to the war targets today grats guys.
Today has been a quiet one for Surge catching an exhumer a couple of battleships and some Inty's dying painful deaths to smartys. Kill of the day however I am claiming killing a Vexor with my Hound... killing allaince members FTW.

Kasade said shoot Borne, so I loaded Explosive missiles and did. First volley that hit him removed his shield, second removed his armor, and then I was like oooo crap warp out I forgot about the missiles still in the air. I tried to cloak but that nolonger means the missiles do no damage so boooooom hullshot. I never thought that eight cruise missiles was enough to kill a vexor.

Day 24:
Well today what happened, nothing really, I sent out an alliance mail of epic proportions. That was about it really for me the rest of the time was spent idling on Ventrillo and giving feedback on the fleets which didn't go so great last night.
So with Drakes now hopefully removed from alliance fleets, unless they are gank drakes that is, I sleep a happier man. Lots of plotting and scheming went on today and whilst it happened a few guys died to war targets. Quiet day with regards to kills but plenty of behind the scenes stuff has gone on, to hopefully make for a more enjoyable week at war next week.
Ooo and news just in a war target Inty died seconds died before I made this post.

And a WT Dominix, and later on we got a AP-ing (unfitted, sadly) navy mega and a rokh which was tanking both shield, armour and hull, with rails and heavy missiles Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |
