How much content can you squeeze into 7.5mb?
Is there any documentation that says exactly whats in it?
Is the client-side patch just to support the GUI etc, and the major changes and new content happens on the server side?
Let the wild speculation commence... ~~~~)\~~~~~\o/~~~~

Well, meow this will be good for everyplayer. The game will be soo advanced that we all will be noobs again.
7mb for a patch is HUGE.
Everyone should get an additional eve chaos connection client. TEST this monster and see all the station and stuff to play with. --------------------------

Not that your wrong, but I know from a couple of contacts Shiva is due for release towards the end of the month, any patches that would come into play now would preps for Shiva

Castor was around the same size if I recall correctly. Maybe even less. The guts of the patch really is the backend database stuff anyway.

Can assure u that the amount of data generated from Shive will by far exceed 7.5mb... ;) ........ There is a fine line between gate camping and just standing by a gate, looking like an idiot... |

I hoped there would be allot of new ship models. I don't think there can be many in only a 7.5MB patch. (if any)

And worst of all, the damn dungeons take up most space.

I'm willing to bet that with the last few consecutive patches they've been trickling out shiva stuff that didn't actually relate to gameplay. IE. Ship files, textures, any new systems, so on and so forth. Having people download one 40mb patch is generally not a good idea for a MMORPG - the 56kers aren't made happy.

ok for those unfamiliar with the subject, "dungeons" are sort of a quest/mission-based areas, not necessairly castles with undead ninja mice in them.

I remember this things about Dungeons: - They are a closed region o space. - They are only reachebal through gates. - They are non warp zone.
Browsing through the stuff file I discovered Battelstationmodels (Angel's, Sansha's, Bloodraider's and Gurista's). Looks like "The Endboss" of he Dungeons *hihi*

Sounds like they're station raids, or something along those lines. Kinda neat, but I'm hoping there are more types of "dungeons" than that. :)

Is there a place we can read about them and what they will be used for? will they contain special items or just slow motion space?

Yes, and admitting to it puts you up on the chopping block.
Anyways, this Shiva patch is for extreme testing purposes only. Thats why only SIX people have access to the Shiva Server.
If they made it public, then everyone would go on and play play play.. not test.
From what I'm told, not much has changed (although, they don't have their super characters yet) other then a few tidbits in the UI.. font.. Character Selection screen is different.. and you can expect an ingame calculator ;)

It's probably too early but I should get my asbestos suit out of storage for the inevitable "I love Shiva/I hate Shiva" flamewar that will start when it goes live.
The post-Castor fire lasted weeks and burned down half of Lonetrek. --------------
