Edited by: Hanneshannes on 04/06/2008 11:49:03 You get aggro from one group and 2 ships that are called whatever faction spy. I hear if you attack the spies, chances are you will get full aggro, if you move too close to another spawn, that spawn will aggro you as well.
Other than that, just shoot whatever aggroes you, then move on to the next and kill the spies last if you wanna make sure.
-E- This is only for the second room, the first "room" has 2 groups of rats which you can attack whenever you like, I never got aggro from them until I started shooting.
The last room has a ton of battleships and battlecruisers but 3 or 4 groups of which only one aggroes you initially.

I've never stayed there long enough for anything to respawn and I've tken a long time (Doing the first part and salvaging it, doing the 2 second rooms and salvaging them then doing the last one and salvaging it)
Never seen any respawn, they do reset after DT though, as long as you don't kill the group aggroing you in the last room.

Edited by: Hanneshannes on 04/06/2008 12:02:59 Nps mate :)
Btw, note that those groups in the second room and the last one as well afaik, tend to be have different when you bring mates along. I've had full aggro in the second room once when I did it with a mate although I'm not exactly sure if that just happened like that or if he shot the spies.

That's true. The Aggro system seems to work differently in some missions when you have a gang with you. I guess CCP's intention was to make the mission more challenging for gangs. Also be careful when your mate cannot take the aggro any longer and warps out. The whole spawn (except the ones who are on you) will first attack your drones and when you return them to drone bay they go for you.
Take out anything that scrambles you first in order to be on the safe side...

Need to be careful with drones as well, I forgot to mention.

Yes it could have an overseer inside it. If it has more then 4mil bounty you get lucky.

Edited by: Hanneshannes on 04/06/2008 16:53:58 There will be Dire Pithi Infiltrators and such in the Guristas room, they'll scram you 80% of the time.
On a sidenote, you're probably experiencing the same I did when I first soloed WC4. I was worried because many ppl said it was a very hard mission and I needed to watch out for everything I'm doing but once I was done with the mission, it turned out not to be too hard :P

Yes it is worth it, and if you're really greedy you can skip the final room and just let everything reset tomorrow, and do it over again...for a week. But only do that if you want to earn like 250 million isk.

They key is not to kill the little frigs. Second group will spawn after u kill the frigs. So if u kill the merlins first, another group will spawn, if u kill 2nd groups merlins also, 3rd group will spawn, and soon ur left with tanking 10 ravens :)

In 2nd rooms do not shoot anything that has word "Spy" in it. Do not shoot anything that is webbing you. Do not use Drones initially. Only do so at least until the first group that aggros you is killed (except the webbers) Kill the webbers with your drones when you are shooting last pod in the room. First room, the 2nd pilot will draw fire from the pod that is not aggroing the first pilot. 2nd and third rooms not sure if 2nd pilot will draw full aggro from the 2nd and 3rd pods after first pilot has drawn aggro from initial pod. With decent skills and doing it right, WC is not too hard to handle. Just be careful what you shoot at.

If you avoid killing/attacking the spies (two on each side for a total of four), the remaining two groups of enemies won't auto-aggro on you.
That's the conventional wisdom for WC, but in my experience, the only time the spies will cause problems for you is if your drones kill them, or even just attack them. The moment your drones attack one of the spies, at least one of the two remaining groups will target and attack your drones.
I usually don't risk it and just leave them alone, but I can't remember ever attacking/killing them (w/o using drones) and immediately drawing aggro as a direct result. I could be wrong..
Oh, and BTW, if you're not sure if your tank can hold up, just use *all* Kinetic hardeners and do the side with the Guristas. They do around 86% Kinetic damage, 14% Thermal.. so they really can't hurt you as long as your Kinetic resist is high. That's obviously much easier than dealing with the 55/45 Therm/Kin Serpentis damage.

I heard many horror stories about full aggro when shooting the spy. I always do the serpentis route, and always shoot the spy first (so he cant start orbitting me). He usually dies in first volley and i have never had any aggro due to this.

Edited by: Durzel on 05/06/2008 10:12:46 There is a little quirk on the right room in WC (probably all versions) - there is one ship that won't aggro you at all but is very aggressive towards drones, so bear that in mind before you launch them.
Also in Serp/Gur WC the Serp on the left will only travel so far from their gate before deaggressing and travelling back - if your drones are closer to them than you are (likely) then they will start shooting them instead.

Isn't that one guy who never shoots you but always your drones an Overseer who always drops crap?

Might be, but there's definitely a frigate-class ship that never aggros proactively, is apart from all the other groups, but which always chases your drones around as soon as you launch them.
