I'm tired of being ignored on other threads by the GM's. So I'll start spamming everywhere till its solved or I get a simple response to my queries.
The game does not go further the "Checking Status..." screen for me.
It just stucks there.
My problem still it's not fixed, and has not been fixed for 2 months now. My problem, it seemed, was that I could not connect to the game (at all) if there were more than 15/20k people online (which means 95% of the day)
Also, even when I could connect on that 5%, of the day every time someone outbidded me on a Auction I was interested, I was kicked out. Yes, the game crashed a lot of times, even on that 5% of the time I could play. HOw do I know this? Because of every single time after crashing I logged back, I noticed that the only thing that changed between then and now was that I was outbidded on a contract...
Still... all of the sudden, last week till today, I could log in game. I must say, the game is really enjoyable to play while on my correct timezone. Of course, the contracts issue was never fixed, and I'm still being kicked of the game every time I'm outbidded, so I stayed away of the Contracts system. No big deal.
But.... nothing good lasts forever. Today (after DT) I could not log a single time. Not a single time. I used to be able to log every so often (once every 30 minutes of constant relogging) to change skills. Now I can't even do that.
Maybe that it worked was he anomaly. And maybe it worked because I complained and whined here. I am, thus, complaining again. That way, I may enjoy the game I'm paying for.

Edited by: Rikeka on 05/06/2008 00:06:42 1) I have the Classic pack. 2) I could play all this perfectly till today. 3) I re-installed the game (deleted cache) 4) I tried changing ports to 3724 or whatever it was. 5) I've not been banned, and my account (as you can see) is being payed)
These are not solutions to my problem. I appreciate any help from the users as well. And will appreciate it even more if I get a good fix from any that's willing to help.

Oh, BTW, something funny.
When in-game I click on "Support" and in the "I can't connect to server" button. It sometimes redirect me to... a dead page.

just a couple of more questions :)
1 ) what AV are you using?
2) are you using internet security screen software
3) how many TSR 's / back ground tasks is your machine running ?
Gotta hit the sack but will reply and maybe even help when fully awake.
Good luck

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What about your isp? Maybe it's having problems with keeping the EVE active during peak internet times in your area? Or if you are using a router, did you make sure that isn't limiting your internet usage and as such, crash?

Someone suggested in one of my threads, that my ISP could be "traffic shaping", maybe it's a problem with your ISP like suggested? Have you tried contacting them about this issue yet? If you do, just try to keep things as simple with the representative as possible - from my experience, they get confused easily.

If ever there was a case where a bug report should be filed this is it!
Based on the information you've posted I would be shocked if there wasn't a good indication of what was going wrong if you were to run the logserver. Can you please submit a bug report with the info you've posted here as well as DxDiag.txt and a logserver file of the crash happening I'll make sure it gets looked into so we can get you back online and gaming.

Err... lol. That's great. Submitting a bug report that will only help others, but not me... Because I can't submit a crash report if I can't even log into the game.
Damn, I wish I had crash reports to submit because that would mean I can at least log in the game... But I'll do a bug report. Even though it will not help me at all.
I will also have to submit a reimbursement petition, of course. That won't help either cause when I lose something in game because of lag, strange crashes, etc, it's always my fault (according to the computer generated responses I bet on my petitions)
Even though I'm ****ed as hell... "Thank you for your bug report. Your report ID is 58339"

You can still get logfiles of the issue even if you cannot login. If you run logserver properly it starts logging the moment you hit the shortcut to start EVE. ____________________________ I break things.

The logserver report is pretty interesting. There is a .exe file in your ccp\eve folder. Be sure Eve is not running and open this .exe file and leave i running. Now try to log into Eve, when Eve crashes open the log server report window and save the workspace, zip it and send it to Eve Tech support. I've been trying to log on since 5/12/2008. I've been playin since 12/2005 but CCP feels that just taking my money is better so on 5/12 all I get is "connection to the server is closed" Anyway I ran the log server and after looking at all the stuff that goes on measured in .001 MS increments I see the Eve Client STOPS, THEN I am disconnected. So the opinion is that my ISP is the culprit. My ISP is admittedly slow and yes I have latency, but I've this latency since 12/2005. So, if the client is stopping on its own, how is it my ISP?
There are about 10 threads like this sprinkled all over this forum and not one person that has posted, to the best of my knowledge< has gotten a solution to the problem from CCP. Its much easier to blame someone else than admit there is a problem with the CCP client/net/network. Is it my ISP? I presumed it was, so I've replaced every hardware item on it and my ISP has shifted me to faster and stronger signal frequencies THREE times and I still can't connect. SO, CCP what's the deal. How come I could play up to 5/12/2008 and now I can't anymore?

Disconnects is a bug? Are all disconnects related in someway? If my client stops and I am disconnected wouldn't that be a bug?

I share your pain, man.
But...
1 hour ago, the game was able to connect back. I was a happy panda. 10 minutes ago, the game crashed, and refused to let me log back again. Sad panda again. 5 minutes ago, the game let me in. Happy panda again. 2 minutes ago, it crashed again. Angry panda.
I believe the Devs think they are funny or something...

This one includes the Log report. Not that it will help me much, cause after 2 months my hopes are non-existant. In fact, after waiting for 2 months, this has reached a level of absurdity unheard of...
Anyway, I wish this reports help others like they have not helped me.
PS: Yes, I'm extremely ****ed off... Not that you all should be surprised or something.

Game now letting me log for while (lets say 15 minutes) and then, after I logoff and try to log back in, I'm not allowed (stuck in "Checking Status", like always).
As I highly doubt that mu ISP provider is doing this to me, and as my PC can hdale this game perfectly... Who's left?

look Rikeka , your obviously under some misguided idea that CCP cares. All CCP are here to do it make you by any means possible (legal) to pay them money. If you think they are here to solve problems that allow you to have fun , then think again please. Why do you think they dont allow people to phone them. Why do you think they dont answer petitions. and why do you think the only answers that come from these forums that help in any way , come from the members of the game and not CCP. I cvant say what I want to say about CCP and their staff as i have been warned and many of my posts that have touched on the subject have never seen the light of day, But I can in all honesty say that this problem isnt an isolated issue. I cant stay on line and i have a super computer with more up and down speed than a newspaper office. I get error after error . ofc we all know that this programe wasnt made by a 3 year old and has more patches on it than a second hand Navy rubber boat. this is my latest error mes. Runtime c:\programeFiles\ccp\eve\binExeFile.exe R6025 - pure Virtual function call.
im lucky I only have 4 accounts , i know people with 5/6 that are pulling their hair out.

if you have friend who has different ISP than you have (check traceroute too), then get over there with your PC and try from there. rules out ISP and ISP uplink's. next burn EVE installer to dvd and install it to friends PC to rule out your PC.
and remember, disconnect is most probably from network problems and crashing is from your computer settings/installed programs. |

Edited by: Sandrinne Mirterois on 07/06/2008 15:42:41 eikeka read my post
and the recent one
maybe the behaviour is the same?
after a month now i've understood my provider put some filter on me (traffic sharp) which allow my "request" to connect at eve server only in the night (politely beetwen 00.00 and 08.00 my country time)
that's because they have too many account and few server (the'r tipicall italyan's laziness).
if you have my problem you can only
1) try changing your eve client port > read here <
2) change provider (in my country this will take loooong time)
maybe your paket are filtered and can reach eve server only if it's half empity and has much broadband
just hoping my english won't be so bad and my story be useful

I talked with the provider, and "they are not blocking any port" (as they put it, but I'll admit I believe them as much as I believe any party involved on this mess... which is not much, yes)
So, it's CCP... or it's me. And the game worked perfectly till this issue happened...
My bug reports keep getting trashed ("Not enough info" excuses) by computer generated responses... I've played Star Wars Galaxies... and even they had a better customer service.

What can I say? I'm stupid. BTW, right now no GM, Dev, or anyone is trying to help me (aside of the 2 posts Tanis wrote above) They have stated that the errors are my fault (completely ignoring that yet I'm still able to log at the extreme night hours, and that I have already stated that my computer was able to run EVE-Online perfectly till the ******* stupid Faction Warfare Live Test....)
OMG! I may be into something here.

Whenever the game feels like it, I'm allowed to play from 0000 to 0800 hours. I've yet have o receive any kind of CCP help on this issue.
I would like to know NOW if CCP is currently into this issue. I`ve completed the bug reports up to the best I could, but I keep getting asked to post more info on it (which I did...)
Now, let's resume this...
1) It`s not my PC, for I've played EVE perfectly on this pc in the recent past 2) My provider says they are not blocking any port, let alone port 26,000. 3) Who's left if it's not me or the provider? And why is it that all this trouble started (again, for me) with the FW Live Test?

I have had many issues in the past with playing EvE and now I don't get any problems at all "touch wood". My problems were regular issues of eve not connecting, frequent disconnects, lag etc. When I first had these issues I was with Tiscali ISP who had placed me onto the restricted users list as I had been downloading too much. They refused to put my line back to how it was when it was working even though it was causing me many issues so I left for another ISP.
The second ISP Pipex Homecall was great, no problems for about two months untill I started geting the same old problems again. They couldnt find the problem for ages and spent a small fortune on phone calls to them. Later it turned out I was on the restricted users list again for breaking the "fair users policy", which they themselves admitted I hadnt after reviewing logs. Still they couldnt get me off the damn restricted list so I was screwed for 10 months untill I could leave them.
I am now with BT and havent had any real problems. There was one problem with speed and disconnects randomly but BT sent out an engineer and fixed it on the spot. They have a Fair Usage Policy however this one seems to actually work properly and not willey nilley place people onto it for no reason.
I think your ISP is screwing your internet. They will lie to your face over and over even when you have the facts but they wont let up. ISP's are rediculous and the traffic shaping, alot of people are on it and shouldnt be. I very much doubt that this is CCP's fault and if they are rejecting your bug reports then its because your bug reports dont hold any info that can help, which also makes me think its your ISP as it it was a CCP issue then they'd be able to notice it.
