I've been studying the map and the economy these last months, and my conclusion is that 0.0 alliances aren't about territory any more, but they are corp based around rare moons. Rather than space, each alliance seems to be divided into "dysprosium corp 1, dysprosium corp 2, promethium corp 1," etc where each corp in an alliance governs one rare moon.
SO, I grab a trusty geddon and a tackler, and test my theory. If everything is correct then RA core systems will be empty as those don't have the dysprosium moons but the outposts were built on the 2006-2007 model of holding space in 0.0.
Carefully moving thru skarkton and threading my way through the minor gate-keeper alliances of the Russians, we sneak by to Insmother. The choke points are littered with corpses and blocked by the occasional claw/rapier combo. It takes three hours of slow progress in a Russian version of cat and mouse, but we make it to Insmother.
Every system is covered by Ultima Ratio raven farmers... That much of 2006-2007 is left, and we come to RA Prime, their capital and crown jewel and it............. IS COMPLETELY EMPTY!
We then map out the 20-30 pos's and find 10 or so offline... A fleet of t1 frigs, shuttles, and some cruisers all fitted and just there... BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM... There goes an RA fleet! Pos modules are just floating everywhere! The trusty geddon settles in for a nice battle and BOOM BOOM BOOM as RA pos modules light the screen in nuclear pixels!
Then we camp a gate and start chasing ravens. One group of three isk farmers decides to rat right with us in the system--all three ravens warping together! The rapier manages to snag one, then all hell breaks lose as they run and we chase.
After an hour and some kills, one of the raven leaders says, "Me and you, 1-1." I laugh and wait, and wait, then the raven appears at the gate. I lock and fire. Then local spikes! It's the Russian blob! The scanner shows not 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 but TEN, YES TEN farmer ravens coming to me.
I panic and start warping but the raven is already in armor. I decide to go for it, and cancel warp... The raven is in structure then the megapulse 2 turn titanium carbide armor plates to slag--the raven POPS and I warp as 10 ravens fill the overview.
Yes, RA core systems are EMPTY but for farmer ravens and some occasional traffic.
Our cargo holds filled with loot, our next journey is back to low sec for a well-deserved rest!

lol nice write up. I've been down to Insmother quite a few times recently and this is about right. There are a few systems where you'll find a few Russians farming ISK, the station systems for the most part are empty. I used to roam there, but it got rather boring with all the logoffski and whatnot. Was jumped like that a few times in my Ishtar as well, was fun

Nice write up but this is not limited to RA its true of all space, try going around the old ASCN space and you will see the outpost systems with 2 people in them or in the North there are station systems with only 1 or 2 people, and the same is true of everywhere in 0.0.
The outposts are not wanted as all the money comes from moons, not from mining ops anymore.

RATTING WITH A RAVEN = ISK FARMING
>50% of EVE CAUGHT AS ISK FARMERS AND IMMEDIATE PROSECUTION WILL FOLLOW.
Most station systems are empty in any kind of 0.0 base though.

Dear Kirja,
we already knew that one. Except you missed mentioning that RA also steals little children's chamber pots.
Kind regards

Breaking news: 0.0 alliances don't pack 50 PvPers in every station system they have and tend to keep them on front lines. In a related story, PvPers in need of ISK and industrialists take advantage of this and use these empty systems to make ISK and farm minerals. Stay tuned for our follow up stories, "Alliances mine moon minerals to support their capital ship programs", "PvPers don't usually engage unless they feel the odds are in their favor", and "Large fleet battles are laggy".

Any RA member in a Raven is obvious a farmer and not just someone ratting his ass rich.

You mean most of your own station systems. Good thing all the other alliances helped attack bob so ra/tcf/unl/goons could have all that uninhabited space. |

Edited by: Razin on 06/06/2008 14:44:16 To the OP:
I'm sure there are many ways to make ISK for the PVP player. Some purchase GTC's, others have to farm in a raven. Thems are the little realities we all live by.
I do like your writing style though. Why not come to Russian space in the drone regions and then write about it here? I'm sure it would make for an even more entertaining read! ...

I don't think this is accurate. RA is very much focused in European time zones. They are almost all European with a heavy dose of Russians (shocking, yes I know). You will see them in station when they are on their prime time, especially where they have building and logistics programmes. During that time the freighters, haulers and jump freighters as well as combat ships move almost non stop. They have heavy presence of interceptors and covert ops (probably used instead of shuttles) and yes, lots of Ravens, but not as many as Goons.
