We could expand the dare to involve any of the games in the Euro Cup, just to make it more likely that it will happen, even thoough it will still be next to impossible.
4 games played, still 27 games avaliable for the dare.

If one of the games was being held in the UK itself i might of considered getting someone i know to do it(yes he will do anything for a cold pint and packet of crisps) but have you ever seen those other european cops they are friggin nutters i aint getting a truncheon up my ass for no amount of isk.

Not real football? Football is what the world recognises as football. Soccer is what yanks call football.
What you call football is infact just Rugby, your version being the 'cotton wrapped' version of the game Rugby with full bodied bullet proof kelvar armor.

Actually my good man, soccer is soccer and football is in fact Rugby as it's the Rugby Football Union and was called so before they started calling soccer football.
As for the American football, that's just Rugby for girls.
But agree with you're post, if someone does do this it will never make it to television as they cut away from the action.

Generations of working class people have called football football. Soccer is a name for football people who dont come from the heartland of football or understand the game use to describe 'our game'.
Rugby and American football hardly use the foot on the ball, so claim to the word "football" as a name for the sport isn't even descriptive of the game. Now go streak. |

Actually because of the protection used in modern day American football injuries have become fewer but far more serious. When American Football was born little to no protection was used.
If you ever see the guys who play Professional American Football in Person, I'm pretty sure you won't say that.
That being said, My brother played soccer and even competed against some European teams, so I've seen good soccer and greatly enjoy watching the World competitions. Soccer played at that level is a joy to watch if you understand the game is more often about what the players who don't have the ball are doing.

Still, I know you'll call me stiff, but I'm studying law and as I see it, it can turn out really bad for the person who does it and even worse for the people who offer isk here...
That would be one hell of an amazing campaign for CCP now, wouldn't it? Even if only 20% people check what's eve online and only half of them make an account, it' still like 10% who will buy a sub, so 100.000.000 x 20% x 50% x 10%... That still leaves us with a million accounts. I mean SUBSCRIBED accounts! I based the % on my book about marketing, I guess they are rounded up, but still... Make it even half again, still 500k subscribers... My God, that's a river of cash. And a nice lag...

I think you have got your calculations a bit wrong. You really think if 20% of that many people do actually check what eve is I dont recon 50% are gonna make an account. No way. I think ccp will be lucky if 1% made an account and hardly any of them will actually subscribe.

For those unaware of the actual history of football games and their terminology:
"Football" is a name for a family of games, so named because they involve moving a ball while afoot (as opposed to mounted,) usually by running. (association football is actually unique among football games in banning most positions from using their hands to carry or move the ball.) Rugby is one of the oldest football games with a wide modern following, while soccer (a shortening of the proper name of game: Association Football) has broader international popularity. Despite popular belief, the term "soccer" is a native British term, and is properly used to distinguish Football Association Football (heh.) from other popular football games (Rugby, Austrailian Rules Football, North American Football, etc.)
The ethnocentric arguing about what constitutes "real" football is as pointless as it is silly. Rugby is rugby. Soccer is soccer. They're all football, the North American version just doesn't really have another name.

That is true to some degree.
However, football as we know it in europe was invented before americans began to call it soccer.
