As much as I try to get back into eve, I just can't do it.
I chose a role, which was pirating, and I beleive its dead. I mean you have the following.
- Criminal Flagging - Security Status penalty ( I love having -10, which is why I hate npcing, because it increases the status) - Warp to Zero - Low sec just isn't full of traffic as it used to be. - Low sec is just full of pvpers looking for pirates. - Sentry Guns
Now I mean, I do enjoy pvp, but I always have in my head, thats why profit, thats my why to make isk. If im not going to make jack sh it on it, I don't wanna do it. I guess you can call me a money greedy pirate. But can you blame me. I buy 2 90gtc's every 3 months. Thats expensive for a person who hasn't really played in 2 years, only hsa come back here and there.
In my opinion, pirating is dead. You might disagree, but how much do you make pirating and NOT high sec pirating. That used and may still be profitable but im sick of it, it actually made me rich back in the day when I had the patience to npc and jump back and forth from empire to get my status up. But im a impatient person. In my opinon, pirating is about small numbers, which is why I hate the senty guns so much, because the more people, the less profit.
I mean, I found a way to make a small profit making a living pirating, but im not going to say just incase I come back.
But what im trying to say is. What can get me back into the game? There is so much to do to get into the game, me being a pirate requires a alt to get stuff from empire. Its like way to much trouble to get ships/equipment. Its not only the trouble, its the time consumption JUST to get a ship. Theres not enough fast action. Theres to much going to buy, negotiate, transport back, finally get the ship, and then you prolly lose it the next day. It just seems that there is to much work to get a ship/equipment for a ship that your most likely going to lose very soon, with all the traps located in low sec.
If you mention 0.0, I hate 0.0, last time I was active was agout 5 months ago and we move to 0.0, all it is is blob and killing a POS. That will be the seocnd time I quit because I moved to 0.0. I hate blob warefare, because its just click and hopefully one of my missiles hits the target. I don't give a crap about killmails and all that. I do like pod kills =D. My sort of game is 3 pilots roaming and killing but im caldari and theyve become known as the ultimate npcers ships. (the missile boats). All though, the onyx is my favorite ship in the game right now especially with low sec. I love lcoking down the asian farmers that cuss me out in their own language, I translate it, and talk right back at em. I mean that was fun for a time.
But my main biggest concern is this. ISK. How do I make isk? Ive been playing eve since beta and I really don't know how to make isk. I mean, I made a vow to never do agent missions again after I got one the first macherials in the game, which sold for a handsome price of 7b. That was the first day I become a billionare. That isk dwindled, I then suicided in jita to make more billions, which was fun, bought myself a carrier and found out about the cosmos LEGIT missions which can be repeateable with a certain cerficate to the 'general' if you will. I then made 13-14b with that. That dwindeled because I swaped about 2-3b isk for gold in WoW, Which was a mistake, but I was into the game atm (dont play it, its a waste of life, I have actually sold every character I played in that game to make myself feel better, but it did offeer a GOAL, a time consumption when you were bored). So then I was broke again. I then sold my carrier alt for another 7b, so I was back up again, I suicided in jita with -10 sec, which was funny because I did it with arma smartbomb at a gate ( i avoided the cops just in time to get to the perimeter gate) It was a good laugh but most of the time I just made back what I lost.

After the 12th paragraph, I started getting light-headed, and had to stop and set up a base camp to rest while the Sherpas went ahead to scout out the rest of the post. But after a long nap and some serious re-hydration, I was able to push through and finish my ascent. I donÆt know that IÆve ever been more proud of myself.

Edited by: Commander Joya on 08/06/2008 21:02:55 Pirating isn't dead... some pirates need to become more creative. Goods need to be transported one way or another. I aint going to help you out, its something you need to find out yourself.
EVE is changing with every patch, you can't expect that players don't change their playstyle with those patches. If you really don't like the changes, quit EVE and play another game you do like.

Edited by: Tank CEO on 08/06/2008 21:07:28 I wasn't done. You guys responded to much heh.
Basically what Im trying to say is. I mean, I do have a goal, but it requires to much time in real life that I can't do it, which is why I remain lonewolf.
I feel like a noob again becauseI really havent played in a long time.
Im not saying im going to quit. I havent canceled my account in almost 6 years. Im just tryin to ask, what is there to do in eve for a lonewolf person like me. ( I probably already have a answer for that) But how do you make isk in this game that is more profitable then the average person. I dunno, I guess im trying to get myself back in the game.
Even if the expansion fails for me, I will never cancel my account. I will train and train and train until I go broke in eve. I guess you can say this is yell for help to ask, what is there to do in eve for me? Give me ideas that I don't know, I dunno.

You get to a point that the game is no longer interesting no matter how good it was in the past it just doesn't interest anymore. I have rarely met anyone who can rekindle the fun that they once had. You come back but in a few weeks it gets easier and easier not to log in and before you know it months have gone by.
Just nature of the business.

Its legends like tank that got people playing this game, low sec has been dying for along time but dont give up hope just yet, FW is just around the corner and low sec alliances are becoming more common, the targets are there and i know its hard to stay motivated but with the right descions you can still have alot of fun in this game. I hope u dont leave because reading about ppl like you got me interested in this game and things do change but if you look hard enough there are still areas of this game where you can still find fun and enjoy yourself.

Who the f*** are you ?
Killing macro-haulers and spamming in Jita local and whining 23/7 makes you a famous pirate? Lols. Try C&P, lots of real pirates in there. Or just try going into low-sec on TQ, tons of real pirates who are active and never make forum post whines.
Complaining about WTZ and security hits are about as carebear whining as possible. Adapt or GTFO.

Listen, I named the topic wrong a bit, It was more of a question. I think eve is a great game, its the first game I have owned for more then 4 years (starcraft was the other).
I just posted my thoughts on the game as to why I don't play. People can take em in and people can ignore them. Im just posting as to why I can't get back into eve. Now I will try out FW. I haven't decided wether or not to be the bane of the fW or to join a militia.
I guess my biggest whine is, theres not enough instant action. Theres to much going to point a to point b to point c to get to pvp. You know what I mean? I hope FW changes it. Trust me, I love the new expansion, its actually bringing people into low. But I do fear that blobs, which I dislike, will become low sec. Which I hope they won't
I do however am anxious about the frigate sized battle zones, or the cruiser. I mean that is a good move. But pre faction warefare, that is just how I feel. Some people might take it as advice and alter the game accordingly and fairly.

i think with FW knowing there will be fights and not a bunch of looser that either run away or outblob you is what this game needs and i think FW will deliver. i tested it on sisi and it was really fun i mean yes i lost a few ships and yes people are complaining that the rewards arnt great or what not but FW isnt another source for carebears to get isk, this is here for the PVP oppertunities and feeling like that single kill you have has contrubited to more that just stats on a killboard, your contrubiting to a bigger fight
i think all the people that are whining before it come out are looking at FW from the wrong direction
never trust any link i post =P you have been warned |
