I was getting bored also
What I did was buy faction bs, outfit it with officer gear 2-6 billion value, then go PvP in 0.0 with just 1-2 gang members.
It doesn't last long but it gives a real rush, I can't think of anything else that comes close in computer games.

Hey Tank, good to see ur still hanging on, well just, by the looks of things :P, hang in there bud, im about to reach my 5th year aswell, ive taken a step back to help all the new guys get into Eve, within our Corp of course, It has its satisfaction within, :) but i still hav lots to do b4 i think il even think about leaving Eve...

He seemed to be complaining about frigates not beeing able to tank low sec sentrys.
With 4b isk i surely would spend it on something else than t1 frigates.

I remember in late 2003, middle of 2004? Maybe little later... not sure now - I was fairly new at the time - I was coming from the City of God and was on my way over to Empire High Sec... when I saw this Scorpion zooming to the gate, just as I was warping to the next gate, and no I did not know that Book Marks existed at that point...
So this Scorp zooms in just as my Indy 3 zooms out... and I am at the next gate 15km... I knew it was bad news, because the only player in the system was this dude... Tank CEO, and he did not look too friendly...
So, I lay in the AB, and try to get to the .5 system in front of me... and the Scorp shows up behind me, I am 10k away from the gate when the torpedoes start slamming the indy.... I am peeing my pod, and really really hoping to run...
Funny thing is, I had a bunch of Secure Cans in the hold, empty, because I had couple extra after hanging them around the ruins, there were some juicy rats there, and me and my mates were using cans as storage... anyway, the Scorp is tanking sentry fire, and I am laying in the AB, and wonder to myself, why am I running? I have no implants, I have no loot, but the guy looks scary as hell, so I am running....
At some point a few seconds later my Indy blows up... and the secure can pops out, thats what saved my ass. Tank goes for the secure can first, while still locking my pod, but, by that time I am already at the gate, and just as the first torpedo hits my pod I am jumped.... since I made sure to press jump... jump.... jump... button...
I wind up on the other side in a .5 system with little over 1% of structure in the pod, and thank my lucky stars.
I sent Tank an eve-mail few seconds later, saying that it was pretty scary and exciting all at the same time, and asking how about taking me into the fold and teaching me a few things about cool stuff like that... I received a reply, "I don't Teach." that's it... the rejection, it broke my heart... for a little bit, and ****ed me off at the same time.
So, once I am rearmed and ready, and two of my friends are ready, we are all noobies in Thoraxes and we go back to get revenge on Tank CEO for killing my empty Indy 3....Tank was still around, probably cursing about the empty secure can Indy... well, anyway, needless to say we all died to his Scorp... and that was it...
Anyway, Tank, you be allright, take a break go do something else, train the character more - still, you will be OK one way or another.
I just thought I would share a story of how I met you for the first time...

Well you could raise your status and just freelance around the universe. Do jobs for people. I did that for a bit, it was pretty fun.
Or you could wait for FW to come out and see if that will boost some numbers in low sec.

Well... piracy is both fairly time-consuming and not a very high profit activity, unless you get something really lucky; and it's very easy to waste the ISK.
I find that it's fairly important to be a cheapskate and keep your gear cheap as possible to make actual money off pirating, and then it does trickle in at a not too high pace; that said, I'm finding that I made approx 2.5-2.6B profits so far in roughly 9 months of piracy or so (with two breaks off EvE due to RL obligations), so it's not that bad.
The alt business for resupplying is annoying - I'm finding myself harrasing corpmates to do it and trying to sell loot locally a lot.
That said, I don't think I could be nearly as profitable if I wasn't in a corp, I'd just lack firepower for a lot of profitable things and couldn't have intel/etc/etc which make it far safer to pirate.

Only tank-fit BCs and BS can operate under sentry fire, and when you understand that losing ships is inevitable when pirating (said tank BC can most likely be broken by a gankier T1 frigate once agressed and under sentry fire), you want the ships you're risking to be something as affordable as possible.

I had the some problems with eve... Got bored very fast etc etc. Started playing in 2003 with other character & then quited. Started a new character (current).
I notice the changes trough eve & I know how the old days were...
But that was then.
Now I began like a few days ago with piracy & I never had so much fun in eve. There is always something that you could do. Other people layed some solutions for ya what you could do. Its now up to you what you going to do.
You could always start something new. New "code" for pirates, website dedicated to pirates? Enough posibilities to discover, you just need to discover what your new goal will be.
Bit oftopic: About flying frigates. I fully understand you. I would love to fly those 2. But just because of sentries I can't be as effective as in my cruiser. (Even for those who have 4b isk, flying frigates will be always fun!). But atleast you could try to hunt down people in belts.
