Hey.
Since the eve-dev.net page isn't up yet, and probably wont be for a good ammount of time. I took the liberty to putup a forum to get more centralized help for the EDK board.
url is: http://evedev.killmail.org
Hopefully people will use it, both for sharing mods, getting help and such til such day that the eve-dev.net forum will be back up.

Just goto the forum, and download the tar.gz file thats linked there. And extract it with winrar or something similar - then you got all the files aswell :)

I d/l that tortoise thing so I'm good, but thanks for the reply :)
For anyone else as stupid as me, to update I just uploaded all the old files to the kb dir and it seemed to work. Didn't have to run the install dir, seems to work ok. I'm sure you prolly need to run the install dir but the kb works for now so I'm happy :)

You shouldn't have to run the install scripts if you have an already working KB. All they do is setup the database tables and configure the general settings, which you will already have. |

What about the database update with the new region, the female corpse item and the gift ship?
Any sql script availalbe to add them to existing killboards?

Thank you for offering up a new parser!
Unfortunately I have to echo the above request. Those of us without extensive database tweaking knowledge would much appreciate a database update for new ships and regions, an update from 326 to 327.

To get the parser working you just need to overwrite those 2 files with the new ones from the SVN using your FTP program. BACK UP FIRST :)
As it stands, to update the ships etc you need to use something like phpMyAdmin to run an SQL update.
I think it's a case of wait for the Eve-Dev guys to get it sorted if you want an easier method.
P.S. I'm no expert, so could be talking out of my afterburner! |

I personally am just waiting for Ralle to announce he has updated his upgrade script, which can fix it all in one swoop.
But if your into the whole phpmyadmin stuff and all that, you can use this update (taken from the other thread on how to fix the EA mails)

Was the revision 327 killboard you posted on your site developed by the EvE-Dev.net group? Because it if wasn't I wouldn't use it especially if you have the API mod. It is too risky. |

The Rev327 is made by Exi himself. I put up the forum to make it easier for all EDK users to get help and mods again - i am on the #EVE-Dev IRC channel myself and regulary talk in there.
And if your worried that i will steal all your stuff via the API, then no i wont and cant - and i haven't rigged the API Mod (it aint even in the original EDK source anyway)
So if you dont have anything else to do than make stupid accusations, i would love if you would just go out and hammer your head into the nearest wall till you pass out - thank you

Just seems stupid to start question my motives anyway. As you can see i host free killboards for people, i host TS servers, im a well known person in EVE (well - sorta anyway) - so if i began stealing API Keys and it got out, how'd you think my business would go? :P
So no, im not stealing API Keys, im not thinking of stealing your mom - and the source ive put up is the original source directly from the EVE-Dev SVN, and if you don't trust what ive packed down - you can get it from the svn directly. |

Again, I have offered you an appology. If you can't accept that then I can't help you. I have never heard of you and don't know of your business, but I can say that in this game you can trust no one. Out of that concern I posted what I did. Again it wasn't a personal attack. I don't know you from Adam. So please don't take it as one.

pretty much, move your current files to a backup directory, upload the new files - and copy the old kbconfig.php into the library with all the new files..
and voila it runs :)

What about the installed Mods? Do I have to reinstall them? Are there new tables for the new systems and ship types? What about those?

Pretty much just move Common and Templates to the backup directory (and all the files in the root) - thats the only ones that needs to be updated from 322 to 327 :)

I received this error.
Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir './cache/templates_c' does not exist, or is not a directory. in /home/pirtat5/public_html/cankb/common/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1095
I backed up my board. Deleted the contents of the directory the board was in and pasted in the new boards files. Then copied over the config file. Did I do something wrong?
Also, there are no updates to the database for the new systems and ships? |

you removed the cache dir, make a folder called cache, and inside that folder make a folder called templates_c
and make all folders below cache chmodded with 777 :) |

Ok, that worked. 2 other questions:
1. The kb now reports version 326. Is this correct? 2. What about the new tables for the new items that EA brings to the game? Ships and Systems for example? |

The new 327 rev shows as 326 - since it hasn't been changed in the global.php file. As far as the missing details and such, no clue.
And no, the new items and the new region is still not added. We're all waiting on the new data export from CCP, but they are slow as always ^^

Look in the other theads in this forum for the SQL queries to add the Corpse Female, Apotheosis and new navy ships. There are also ones for the new systems and stuff in Black Rise, but it's lacking some details which we'll need to wait for CCP on.

If you follow the instructions on this post (i.e. run my SQL file then the queries in Gandj's post) this will insert solarsystem entries including all columns (as opposed to the earlier SQL which only added system names).

Do a search on these pilots in the kb3-pilots and check their corp/alliance numbers. One of your mal-formed KMs screwed them up. Simply edit them to the correct ones and viola!

You guys are the bomb, thank you for all the help! The only problem I had was the API mod. After I installed it, and went to the Home page, my killboard crashed with an error. I uninstalled it and the killboard returned to normal. So unless there is an updated API mod somewhere I guess I'm SOL.

Am I correct to assume that to fix our killboards, all we need to do is overwrite the folders from the R.327 file and it will work.

I don't have access to the MySQL server on my host but I figured I could get the new systems and region into the DB by modifying the install packages. So I went ahead and did, but for some reason it will not insert 67 (66 in rev 327, so + Black thingie makes 67)regions into the DB even tho I changed the amount of rows in table.xml in the regions package folder... I have found that after a kill mail post the corp member (pilot) record in the database gets it's corp ID set incorrectly. That is why they don't show up anymore. I have manualy changed them back and disabled kill mail posts till the issue is resolved.

Edited by: MegaJ on 23/06/2008 12:03:22 Edited by: MegaJ on 23/06/2008 11:58:51 Maybe some1 can help me with this problem:
I don't have access to the mySQL server on my host but I figured I can add the new systems and ships by modifying the eve-dev KB install packages which contain the tabledata that get's imported during the install. So I did and all seems to be fine for the new ships and invtypes, but the new region refuses to get imported into the database.
I'm using this sql file instead of the original regions.sql which does not contain the last line:
TRUNCATE TABLE `kb3_regions`; INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000001','Derelik','-7.7362e+16','5.0878e+16','6.44331e+16'); ... ... INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000067','Genesis','-2.6003e+17','1.48896e+16','1.5432e+16'); INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000068','Verge Vendor','-2.42498e+17','4.11701e+16','-5.15575e+16'); INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000069','Black Rise','-2.20000e+17','-3.22000e+12','-1.44000e+17');
The installer informs me that only 66 regions have been imported and so the check says: FAILED. I can't figure out what is wrong with my sql file?? Any ideas?
pic: FAILED import Note: it says 66/68 total but it should only be 67. But during the time of making this pic in increased the table size just to make absolutley sure there was a free row.

TRUNCATE TABLE `kb3_regions`; INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000001','Derelik','-7.7362e+16','5.0878e+16','6.44331e+16'); ... ... INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000067','Genesis','-2.6003e+17','1.48896e+16','1.5432e+16'); INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000068','Verge Vendor','-2.42498e+17','4.11701e+16','-5.15575e+16'); INSERT IGNORE INTO `kb3_regions` VALUES ('10000069','Black Rise','-2.20000e+17','-3.22000e+12','-1.44000e+17');
I found the error, the file needs an empty line after the last region
