What's the practical difference (isk and lp aside) between scanning down FW engagement sites and taking them from agents as missions? |

Sites don't give isk/LP In missions you usually have to kill some NPCs; in sites you have to hang around a structure for 10-20 mins. |

Edited by: Lord WarATron on 12/06/2008 07:57:04 Edited by: Lord WarATron on 12/06/2008 07:56:15 FW Engagement sites are already mentioned. FW missions from agents have major problems in that
1. You have to travel lots of jumps 20 jump roundtrip in pirate/wartarget infested low sec is norm 2. I heard you still lose faction if you fail these missions, but the nature of these missions is that a lot of these will fail 3. Lack of isk/lp rewards. Better off doing normal missions for income and focusing on engagement sites for fun 4. Too much randomness in hunting these runners.
The agent missions, once you are in them, are really really good and well designed. Seriously, I mean it. Some of these missions put you in the middle of a Caldari vs Gallente NPC battle and other missions might have the usual blob vs you, but you only need to kill, say, their leader and make a run for it.
Solution for fixing missions
1. Put FW missions close to agent. i.e 1 jump or so away. This means more people will run FW missions and also This way solo pvpers can know where to go to hunt runners.

well 1 jump is just too close but yeah, make them closer. i did several of them (being sadomazohist i am, 18 jumps) but unless they're closer to agent OR there are much bigger rewards - screw them. Noone will ever do them on regular basis. P.S. Does anybody notice "FW missiones are easier" VS travel distance and "we turned navy NPC in a monsters" contradiction? Those missiones are harder, alot harder. ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |

I have one that is hard as heckfire. It is a level one, so I am in my punisher against 8 npc's half of which are cruisers. I still haven't completed it because I had to warp away 5 times after only killing 3 of the NPC's. And the reward is only 30k isk with the time bonus which I already missed. If this is what the missions are going to be like, this will be my last.

Edited by: Ulstan on 12/06/2008 14:19:44 I will not be running the missions until the number of jumps is decreased. I just don't enjoy having to jump 20+ times for a single mission. I don't do courier missions. ;)
Oh and the sites you scan down by flying to a planet and using the onboard scanner and searching for anomalies. They seem way too rare IMO. Once you find them and warp to them, a beacon shows up that everyone in the system can warp too. There will be a control point that you have to be near for 10,15,30 minutes to 'capture' the point while fighting off NPC waves.
I'm not sure about the missions - haven't run one myself and haven't really run across anyone running them either, but in theory they create a beacon in your target system that anyone else can fly to, but instead of the capture point you have your normal mission objectives. |

they do create a beacon but considering they are usually deep in the (bip) noone bothers u most of the time. Not that it makes them any better.... P.S. Also making only 1 jump between amarr and monkeys wasnt the smartest idea. It was the first time i saw 50+ ships gatecamp in my life ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |

Just a reminder: The jump clone thing might seem like a good idea at first but is completely impractical as many times you'll have to fly back to the station (10 or 20 jumps) the mission was issued from to turn it in. Not to mention you can't JC but once a day.
Right now though missions are so difficult for their level that I'm not going to touch them until they're tweaked. I've personally seen a battleship go up (it was tech II fitted) in a level III mission.
