I swear I am having to run 2 reppers in missions where I only needed 1. Normally I can aggro just about the entire room spawn in a T2 tanked Domi with very few exceptions.
Now it seems like some of the missions like Massive Attack seem to be doing way more damage than before.
I was under the impression only navy faction npcs got a combat boost. Or is this all just a figment of my imagination or am I an idiot and missed reading about it in the notes?

I do agree that the missions seem harder. I have actually had to warp out of a few missions and haven't had to do that in a long time. I think they have tweaked NPC damages with the latest release.

couldn't agree more... lost a zealot the other day in a mission i usually dont have any problems with especially in a hard hitting, hard tanked zealot... |

Plus, the loot doesn't seem to be as good now. Maybe they are wanting to push people out of the mission business and into the militia business instead. Neither is making me much isk at the moment

I mean I am tanking 80-90% resists and dual repping and barely keeping up. I had been running missions all week and it's obviously repetitive so it was quite a shock to see my tank getting beat down now out of nowhere since the patch.
I thought I had the wrong hardeners fitted at first because the 2 reps weren't keeping up with the dps.
I think the navy npc buffage rolled over into the standard npcs as well. I could be way off base, but it sure seems odd.

It does seem harder than before, accidentally triggering 2 waves of drones in Rogue Drone Harassment overwhelms my tank briefly, and I lost a Kronos in Angel Extravaganza Bonus room far quicker than I thought possible.

I havent noticed any change.
I run only 1 lar and have no problems at all. I completely afk ran pirate invasion and never had my tank break at all.
A few missions may have been changed and perhaps have been made more difficult.
Today I did a mission I rarely get. "Cargo Delivery" with serps. The first wave had 2 battleships instead of just 1. I never triggered anything though. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

yes i believe that the npc's have had their damage abilities boosted asi read this in the patch notes:
Navy NPCÆs have had their abilities significantly increased. The damage output from Navy ships is now considerably higher than before.

I'm happy to hear this as I just lost a Faction/T2 Navy raven to a L4 and was so embarrassed. Well sounds like we need to start running more runners with each mission.

I think that's re: the navy NPC's that attack you when you enter a hisec system and you're -5 or worse to that faction. I think.
Haven't noticed any increased difficulty. Then again I decline missions vs. navies, so maybe those did get boosted as well?

*Scratches Head*
"pirate invasion (Sansha)" - Raven no issues "Assault (Gurista)" - Rokh no issues "worlds Collide (Gurista/serpentis)" - Rokh no issues "All rouge drone missions" - Raven no issues. Even triggering full room agro on most of them.
Those are just the ones off the top of my head. Haven't noticed anything different in missions yet. I do expect missions against empire navys to be harder but I turn those down anyway.

I haven't played for a week, but I just wanted to mention that after every major expansion there's an outbreak of people saying that missions have gotten harder and that loot tables have gone to crap.
For all I know, it's all true this time, but just sayin'... * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

But I want to blame losing my raven on something other than I forgot I was running a mission and got pawned.

Well, there's always the other old standbys on these forums: "ZOMG LAGS" and "Drunkenmission blackout".
These are nice in that they don't require a patch. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I run a ton of missions and haven't noticed a difference. I did Angel Extravaganza level 4 Bonus room yesterday with no problem at all.

My apoc is currently struggling a bit in sansha Blockade. Came to the forums to see if anyone else noticed a change.
Either T2 NPCs have higher resists now or perhaps drone damage feels a little lower than normal? I can't tell but it's taken me damn near a half hour to get rid of half a dozen Centum Loyal Beasts. Granted, tracking disruptors, but I've never seen my drones struggle so much to take down even a T2 NPC.
The T1 ships seem the same, but I'm just a little suspicious of the T2 ones.

Are all the NPCs that one encounters during missions navy NPCs?

Even though i'm pretty new to this i'm not unused to doing the same mission multiple times(usually lvl 1) and i was doing one today i've done a bunch of times before but the ships were a lot more powerful and it was the same mission from before Empyrean.

So far I did AE, Gone Berserk and EA, and found no difference. Not even the Navy NPCs in EA were buffed as I was afraid they might be. So the way I see it, this is just another mass hallucination, like a lot of the 'whaa our loot was nerfed again' outcries.

before i stopped running missions for good, it seemed that more and more missions had NPC's IGNORING resistance....(i mean scourge missile hitting for 376dmg t 95% kinetic resists... and so on for all dmg types....:S), maybe much more NPC's are doing so now? -sig-

Hard to say since I just started doing lvl 4 again after an almost one year break, but I haven't had to much of a problem so far. AE was super easy in my standard Raven, only had one Mission where I had to warp out (forgot the name of it, but it was Minmatar ships).

Loot tables suck after every major patch -- I think it's dynamic code trying to 'balance' payout vs. timesink. You may also remember mission LP going to minimum after major patches last year. Wait a few weeks while nobody loots and it'll go back to normal.
As far as hardness: not sure. I haven't noticed anything.
Nighthawk still appears to tank as well as ever, which pews down the ignoring resists theory. Rats seem to die at the same rate -- at least I haven't noticed a significant increase in mission run times.

Also I needed to warp out from missions which I usually finish without warping out or kiting.
I consulted moralists to learn how to appear philosophers to find out what to think and novelists to see what I could get away with and in the end it all came down to one principle:win or die. |
