Isn't there a lot more episodes left? What are they gonna do for those last few episodes, explore radioactive ruins and stuff? The only cool thing about old BSG was that it eventually got to earth and met earthlings and got up to earthly hijinks?
I hope it doesn't turn out to be some cyclical mumbo jumbo, where it turns out the BSG crew are the ancestors of modern men or something.

The planet probably is Earth, since Gaeta confirms the constellations match after the jump, but yeah, sucks. I hope they don't pull some **** like the survivors being the ancestors of modern man in the final episodes, that'd suck. Also, cylons can't ressurect anymore, right? Shoulda killed them all and be done with it, wtf?

You might be right, Roslin is still alive after all, remember the prohecy said that the leader of their people would not live to see their people enter the promised land. They found a planet, maybe even earth, but they might not be meant to colonize that area of the planet to begin with. Of course, the leader could also be Lee (wouldnt that be a twist worthy of Shyamalan). -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I've just thought of a hilarious possibility. What if they've somehow managed to get turned around, and they are in fact back on Caprica? The viper pointed them there because it detected that same beacon that Athena and Helo tracked down in the first season. __________________________

Being chased by a fleet of runaway robots, preferably.
"Hey guys, my genocidal robots are way tougher than your genocidal robots..."
In all seriousness, I liked that episode. Great twist, but I'm really wondering where they're gonna go with it now. I've been kinda predicting a "ancestors of modern man" finale since the beginning, so I wouldn't be overly disappointed with that, although I'd prefer something I haven't thought of. Fact is, a really awesome series is a difficult thing to end well, and I'm very interested to see how they do it. ------

I was thinking perhaps Starbucks shiny new viper was the 5th cylon. It certainly knew the way to Earth, so it fits at least one criterion.

I'd have to see the episode again, but one of the larger bits of ruins looked *just* like the Brooklyn Bridge.
My money is on it being Earth, long ago nuked. Any other "woops wrong turn" eventualities would be lame compared to the "wtf do we do now?" scenario.

The problem now with us guessing the final fifth is that they're not in the fleet. So I guess Leoben was lying afterall, and got tossed out the airlock for it way back when. Not to mention it can't be any of the blood Adama's (IE Zak, Lee, & Bill) is that they're doing a spin-off of their ancestors on Caprica.
Although I do agree it would be a groaner if they pulled a "wrong turn." Yes they have to have the WTF do we do now bit.

The spinoff will be set during the beginning of the war. So it will feature the Admiral's father/Apollo's grandfather.
Also the creator has stated that neither of the two living Adamas are Cylons.
Thus Zach is still a possibility.

Late reply I know and apologies if this has been said before...
But I just got round to watching the final episode before the season break, and something I have been thinking about for a few episodes regarding the 5th cylon..
If both the final Adamas arnt cylons.. what about the Admirals wife? That would mean both Zach and Lee are cylon "hybrids" and not actual cylons meaning the creators could get away with saying "No their not cylons".. |
