I started playing this game two weeks ago for the first time and I was very happy with the game. It ran smooth and looked great. After the Empyrean patch though in most of the central systems such as Perimeter, Laah and Motsu I get bad delays trying to do anything.
I know this isn't my computer setup nor is it my connection because I routinely get 30-75FPS @ 1680x1050 with every setting set to maximum. I also get between 1Mb and 2Mb per second on my Cox cable connection no matter what time of day it is.
Has anyone else had this problem?
My Setup: Intel QuadCore Duo 2 @ 2.66Ghz w/ 2Gb of DDR3 1666MhzFSB GFX: MSI Nvidia 8600GTS OC Four Western Digital 80Gb HD's RAID 0

I'm noticing considerable lag (not graphical) in several systems such as Irjunen and Waskisen, never had that until today... ------------------------

Welcome to EvE. Lag is a persistent factor in this game. It's been a problem for years due to overcrowding in central systems. It's not to bad on the outskirts but whenever people windup in excess of 100 in local things get buggy.
It's amusing that CCP is advertising on TV during prime time in the states and other places. This will inevitably translate to more lag. Good call CCP.
As for Emperyan Age, yes I have noticed some additional latency even in fringe areas where local topped less then 20. I blame factional warfare and the new epic blobs floating around lowsec/high sec.
/rant about CCP's stupidity. ------------------------------------------------- **** You're out of your mind!

I was in a 140 ship fleet last night and we got a bit of lag entering some systems but the FC switched to splitting jumps across wings and it was fine. Today I was in a 42 ship fleet and there was no lag.

oi, you say you got some lag around perimeter and laah? well i have something that may be why, those systems are kinda right next door to the most populous system in the game, Jita, a MAJOR trading hub, alot of lag there, just a thought

I wonder if the lag overall isnt less than before faction warfare, considering that everybody who takes part in faction warfare are not grinding npc's that explode every second.
But I dont know, will have to wait for ccp info on that one.

Actually, Jita is on its own node. But this thread reeks of stupidity anyway.

I have noticed lag in odd places with few players in systems to just me. I would suggest checking your memory settings in game. Some of my settings seemed to have been reset. When they added that option into the game I had lag everywhere.
Once i started messing with it I noticed when i have it set to "none" the game ran as smooth as before. I've done it recently and the problem has been corrected. I have noticed that the lag appears to happen most when aproaching the militia stations for some reason.

Quote: Our systems are showing everything is working fine with no lag. It is your computer and/or ISP.
aaahahaha. EVE doesn't lag, it's your computer guys.

Was it not so that a system can lag even when almost empty if it shares it's node with a system being lagged by a 0.0, or recently, FW "blobvsblob"?

I noticed a little more lag, but that's probably only because I'm having to use Eve voice now.

I have noticed lag as well, though it is not so apparent, just went up a little bit.

Some of my characters are sitting in same systems they were sitting in before factional warfare and now post-patch I've noticed they are definitely getting more lag. It takes 30 seconds sometimes to open up some windows, stripping or putting on fittings also goes much slower.

Definitely more lag since FW. System has 50 in it mostly, in a sparsely populated region.
