So the 4th District finally show their true colours behind all their rhetoric. Having hung around in the Gallente/Caldari war zone for a day or so threatening Strix pilots who enter Caldari space, they have finally declared war on us.
Why do I describe this as 'cowardly' you may ask? Simply because Strix are but one corporation engaged legally on behalf of the Federation in it's defence. Our orders to enter Caldari space come from our militia commanders who are directing the war. As the 4th District are non combatants in the war by their own choice we have not aggressed them in low security space, and simply endured their rhetoric in local comms channels.
If these so-called loyalists felt that our actions demanded a war, then they should have done what every other pilot who feels this way has done - joined their militia. Either that or declare war on every pilot in the militia should they be too afraid to face the Gallente Navy. Now they will simply use the idiotic rules of engagement to attack in high sec while the Gallente Navy refuses to engage them - whereas if we enter their high sec space we will be fired upon as war targets of the State.
This ridiculous situation cannot be allowed to continue. We are a loyal Gallente corporation at war with the State on behalf of the Federation. Cowards who use their 'non combatant' status to directly impact the war should be able to be legitamately targetted by our allies in the militia and the Navy. Sadly, this not being the case, the upper hand goes to those of highly questionable moral fibre who use this to their advantage.
If you feel so strongly about Caldari affairs, sign up to the legitimate militia and face us on the field. Whilst you remain in your own external organisation you cannot claim to represent anything but your own selfish interests.

It's funny as your declaration had half the substance 4th district has for declaring war on you.
Hypocrisy? I think so, maybe you should ask your friends in U'K to come and help since the time PIE have seen any of your ships they've been hanging on their coat tails.

Just to correct you slightly here, to the best of my knowledge Strix never flew under a UK commander, or even allied with a UK fleet. Our operations involved cooperation with EM. As to your assertation regarding substance, I find that somewhat laughable.
And just for the record, I do not condone the use of tactics such as employed by the 4th District here by either side in the conflict. If you wish to support the war effort of your government, join the militia. If not, then limit your wars to legitimate disagreements between private organisations.

You're like the proverbial broken record.
In answer to Gerrard, sorry i got U'K and EM mixed up, its mainly down to the fact we hardly ever saw you and when we did it was short and brief, so it was easy to get confused with who you followed.

Svetlana Scarlet again shows her true colors indeed. Hiding behind the broken CONCORD regulations and attempting to strike a blow at a corporation attempting to protect the Federation against the unprovoked hostility of the State.
In any case, good hunting, Strix. --- This post is not the official statement of my alliance or corporation.

The notion of rallying for a patrol with the Federal Defense Union, and being blind-sided and taken out by a roving gang of hostiles who pick me out from a fleet of fifty ships, which have to stand-by and watch helplessly as I'm laid to waste because of a clever use of the rules of engagement, certainly has it's amusing moment.
However, since that seems to be very near to the intention of such a declaration, I do believe it safe to say that this declaration comes not at all from a desire to fight in the war, so much as to undermine the war effort while enjoying certain- protections.
Please though if I've somehow misread this situation, feel free to correct me. I'd love to hear some thoughts on the matter. _______________________________________________ What a terrible, necessary, dissapointing pursuit, peace is. |

the 4th district choose a loud mouthed Federation Loyalist corp for a war, they could have went after some of the misguided industrial groups who think to manipulate the concord guidelines for a lazy war with safe space to run home to when things get hot. but they picked you, as they should. if you can't handle war then go back to your ore fields. Or you not comprehend the very nature of the conflict that has become our new reality.

The reasons for the Fourth District's reluctance to participate in operations with the Caldari militia are covered in detail elsewhere.
However, we have made it very clear that our decision to remove ourselves from the Caldari Navy's official chain of command, made in protest to Tibus Heth's usurpation of executive powers, should in no way be construed as a lack of dedication to the State or its sovereignty, and we are as determined as ever to protect it from foreign aggression.
If you dislike the rules imposed by CONCORD's bizarre Emergency Militia War Powers Act as much as we do, we suggest you not participate; or, failing that, place the blame where it is due: on CONCORD itself. We are, sadly, bound by their inconsistent dogma as much as you, and I suspect we like it even less.
If you wish to avoid hostilities with us, your path is clear: Stay out. Enter sovereign Caldari space only if you are willing to accept the consequences. Participate in militia actions within your own borders, and odds are good that we will have little reason to pursue you there.

The terms are simple, we in the Fourth District do not wish to see members of Strix Armaments in Caldari space. The Fourth District has already stated that we will not involve ourselves in the invasion of Gallente Federation soverign territory, our only goal in Black Rise is to maintain the existing borders between our two states. We do not condone the actions of Tibus Heths expansionist agenda.
With these terms given, why would we seek to pursue you into Gallente territory?

I will be posting a longer statement on our GalNet portal later, but suffice it to say that while the State has not seen fit to allow the Fourth District to fight under their banner, and we are not particularly interested in following orders from Heth and his lackeys, we have made it clear several times that we intend to use what force we can to assist in the defense of Caldari borders from Gallente forces.
The forces of Strix Armaments have violated Caldari space repeatedly, and apparently have not learned the lessons we tried to teach them last summer when they were assisting the illegal strike and terrorist actions of the Brothers of Freedom. This situation will not be allowed to continue, and we have declared this war to allow our pilots to engage these Gallente paramilitary forces at will.
Needless to say, this will hardly be our last target during this conflict, and our intent is not to back the illegal government of Tibus Heth or his ill-conceived aggression against the Federation in this matter. However, Black Rise is Caldari State territory, and Gallente paramilitary forces operating in the area expose themselves to defensive actions by doing so. Those forces which restrict themselves to defending Gallente space from aggression by Heth loyalists, as they are certainly entitled to do, will not be targeted by Fourth District fleets. Our position on this matter has been extremely clear for quite some time, and if Mr. DuNord and his corporation did not take our warning seriously, it was a mistake they made at their own peril. -- CAPT Svetlana Scarlet CAIN Chief of Diplomatic Staff

I mean no disrestpect to Strix Armaments and Defence but I have never heard of them. Nor do I know of them flying under any Ushra'Khan operational commanders. It sounds like PIE are confused again or possibly just lying to try and gain more allies in their failing Crusade. Trying to stear more Caldari from their war to come and die in the Bleak Lands fighting yours?
I must disagree with Gerrard on principle though. While I welcome the war I cannot and will not bow to the will or leadership of the Republic. I am Ushra'Khan, I was fighting this war before the Republic created the Tribal Liberation Force and if they ever change their policy I will be fighting it after the militia has been disbanded.
Alliances such as the Ushra'Khan have been left very few options when engaging the enemy in this new theatre. Concord sanctioned wars are however still one of those options and still legitimate.

So, the first casualty of 4th District's 'defensive' campaign has occurred. It should be no surprise to anyone familiar with the lies that freqeuntly get uttered by these villians that it occurred 6 jumps into Federation space, a long way from the Caldari border. Perhaps the $th can now admit the truth that they are simply using the CONCORD rules to single out a militia corporation and attack them without their militia and Navy allies being able to intervene. Frankly the 4th appall me - at least the Amarrians PIE and VV, whilst vile slavers, showed honour on the battlefield. God help the Caldari people if their choice of direction is Heth or the 4th.

Illegal in what way? You simply don't like that the State is being lead by the the patriot faction within, and you're unable to accept that the same Megacorps you've blindly followed in the past decided to do something you don't like. The ignorance of a few pilots here is quite astounding. Or maybe just their reading ability. I don't care about fighting the 4th, I simply destest the fact they have abused the new rules of engagement regarding militias to attack one part of the militia whilst being protected from the rest. I don't want them to stop fighting, I want them to cease hiding behind their CONCORD status as an alliance and fight the whole militia, not just one corp, whether that be us or anyone else.
For a long time pilots from all sides bemoaned the CONCORD regulations stopping them from engaging the other side's supporters and navies. The recent act allowed this to finally happen. I await with pleasure some of our enemies finally appearing in full from behind CONCORD's skirts.

Please read our words carefully. We never said we would not pursue you into Gallente space; we reserve our sovereign right to defend ourselves from aggression, on whatever ground. The notion that we should be required to to stop at the border like an old holoreel sheriff at the county line is, obviously, absurd.
What we said is that, if you refrain from entering Caldari space, we will not have reason to pursue hostilities against you. Several of your pilots were seen in various parts of Black Rise yesterday, often flying with Militia fleets. We will fight you wherever we wish until this ends.
Also, the first kill in this war occurred in Oicx, which, while certainly Gallente space, is right on the border and definitely not "six jumps in." Perhaps one of your pilots neglected to report his loss? You may wish to look into that.

Your militia accomplices are certainly welcome to engage us at the cost of their CONCORD security status, just as we are required to lose sec status to engage them. If they lack the will to do so, if they are so afraid of the shadow of CONCORD that they can't bear the thought of taking any independent action at all, then perhaps you need better allies.

I suppose as well, that so long as any one pilot enters, you'll feel free to cross the border and lay waste to every pilot you find, as well? How long do you consider a refrain, that is to say, is there a timer by which you measure how long after a trespass, in your eyes, is required until you no longer give chase?
Why not save the pretense? I feel comfortable in saying that I've had, and still have, no real quarrel with those who have put me among others on their list.
However, we reserve our sovereign right to protect ourselves from the forces of a madman who would use the threat of a Titan-class ship in a populated system to gain what he wishes. If that means having to cross the border to secure a buffer of safety in this war of defense which has been forced upon us, then let loose all the safety protocols and we'll just have to see how things turn out.
These next words are purely my own, so take them as you like.
I truly hope, whatever else, and some of you on the other side have had the pleasure of hearing me speak of peace before, don't think STRIX or I so irresolute as to be forced to bend knee before another threat, when there's so much more at risk.
You've chosen for yourself a course. Now we'll choose as well.

If your corporation cannot control its members, that is not our responsibility.
Quote: How long do you consider a refrain, that is to say, is there a timer by which you measure how long after a trespass, in your eyes, is required until you no longer give chase?
Until we're satisfied you are not a threat. The sooner you begin, the sooner that will happen. I note that at least one of your pilots is in Black Rise on militia operations as I write this post.
Quote: However, we reserve our sovereign right to protect ourselves
Then we are in agreement, and events will play out on the battlefield. Why the whining here if we both acknowledge the reality of the situation?

Probably for the best.
If you can't accept that Tibus Heth obtained power lawfully, with the support of the CEO's, you likely shouldn't represent the state in any of your actions.
Makes perfect sense, though I wouldn't say you are free from the criticism of being dedicated to the state. Clearly if you can't respect rule of law, there is some question about your dedication.

I've had little time for Strix in the past. Their unimaginative approach to the questions that plagued the Federation and ultimately led us to this deplorable situation made that inevitable.
I'll say this though. They aren't wrong when they point to the 4th District war declaration as exploitation of the war-declaration system and arguably cowardice.
The 4th District themselves refused to join with Heth, it wasn't the decision of the state to exclude them from the militia.
If you accept that Heth is a bigoted peddler of race hate, then why fight to support his regime?
If you feel the depth of patriotic fervour that dicates you fight for your state, then fight for it.Don't pretend that the traditional concord bribe that you just forked out is anything other than that; a bribe that enables you to attack a single corporation in the militia with the singular advantage of Strix allies being hamstrung by their inability to pay the same bribe to attack you in return.
A war declaration on a corporation inside the militia should involve a retaliatory declaration from the miltia itself.
Failing that, any and all interested Federate parties currently not involved in the Federal militia should declare on 4th.
In addition, maybe the Elders should pay a visit to Yulai once more.
