Greetings.
I bring forth eye candy. Our corporation is gearing up for the extension of factional warfare that we expect will come in the future. In the meantime, I've pieced together this visual aid that will explain what us pirates are all about (mostly flashy pew pew). Special thanks to Kale Ryoko for his feedback and Kai Zion for creating an enlarged Angel logo from scratch.

pfff ...the editing was to good to use andrew kramers text tut ... that text tut its really overused I even used it 6 mounth ago in a movie ... perfect camera moves/positions really that song needed more sync ...good wmv compression 20mb/min with high quality , nice :) and good content too gj 8.5/10

You've changed my perspective of not being a fan of non-HUD vids, to thoroughly enjoying them. Historically, non-HUDs to me take the borecake, but you've (and a couple others) have found the right blend of editing, camera work and soundtrack to make them highly enjoyable. I tend to view non-UI vids from the point of a view of somebody who knows what EVE is, but doesn't play.
edit: just to clarify..I *do* play eve...I just like vids which I feel would interest me even if I've never played it before.
As such it seems your vids tend to not have much "narration". The start Ghost Festival effect is uber cool, and it starts off well, but by the second half, it becomes clear the vid is a bunch of cool looking shots put together. There's not really anything to bring it together. It starts to get, dare I say, boring. (Or maybe I'm just jaded)
Personally I like Corelli's never outgunned vid, simply because it at the start it sets the scene "Enforcing the interests of our shareholders" and at the end it brings the vid together "With OSY cleared the operation is ended". There was no long exposition or wall of text, only a few floating sentences to give the barest of tastes of the story and background to the viewer, leaving the rest to the imagination, which imo is perfect.
I'm sure with GF's RP backgound at least some sort of story can be made up and included.
Overall, 7/10. I'm show this to people I want to convince to play EVE, but only to show off how good EVE looks etc. I'd show the Corelli film to tell them about the story, and depth of EVE, which for me is what EVE is about.

Ghost Festival is a very new corporation. This, and the video was not intended to be anything more than a mere recruitment video. That is why there is no story, and that is why it is all eye candy. I've already ideas for a 'narrated' video, but they won't come to pass for a few months yet.
I'm glad you have all liked what I have to offer in the meantime. The praise is humbling.

A fantastic piece of editing, with some great shots as well.
I am still to dip my toe in the world of After Effects, and the results here really are stunning. Great work Kyoko. This is on par (if not better) than anything I have seen so far on these boards in terms of audio syncing and use of effects. I look forward to your next piece.
A little constructive criticism; it lacks over-all structure. I understand it's a recruitment video, but there is nothing hooking me in. Why is Ghost Festival so damned bad-ass? What's their story? The shot placing seems rather random, with no build towards a final spectacular (bar, of course, the kersploding Moros).
These are just niggles. Brilliant work. Oh, and I liked the TOXIN kill in there too...

Again, thanks for all the comments! I'm glad my work is enjoyable.
As for your suggestion Dash, I fully agree with you. Very early on I knew I wanted to use this song and cut it short, under three minutes. It's fast paced, and there isn't much room for story or explanation, admittedly. As the first video I've put a significant amount of work into, I didn't want to make things complicated. All I wanted was to hone my After Effects skills, the end product reflecting the jaw dropping style of The Exiled or Welcome to the Syndicate. Editors like yourself and Dire were the inspiration for me to do better.
Now that my corporation has been alive and well for 6 months, I feel I can more fully realize the narrative. There are definite reasons behind our actions, and there is absolutely no doubt I'll be getting to that in my next video, bringing all the necessary elements together.

EVE lends itself very well to 'cinematic' visuals, whereas other MMOs are more about individual characters. That's why you see a lot more narrative features eminating from other titles, and there is clearly a market for it here judging by the incredible success of Clear Skies.
In terms of editing mind, nothing comes close to what we have here. Kyoko has raised the bar for us all and has finally given me the incentive to get nice and snuggly with After Effects. What's that baby? You want to do more motion-tracking? Come 'ere! |

I loved it, but I didn't enjoy watching it. It's a great quality video, but far too many explosions, camera rumbles and flashes, it gets tiring to watch and makes you want it to end: Take that into account when making next ones.
Again, don't get me wrong, it's a really nice video and I liked it a lot.

I've looked and looked for this on my hard drives the past couple days and I'm sorry but I just can't find the original project file. I moved to England for study recently and bought a new computer. Unfortunately I think that means all my original data from this video is back home in the States.
On the upside, I bought a new, more powerful computer. I'm hoping the effects of this get to be presented before the end of the year.

The music is complete and utter crap, but that's a matter of taste, not directing skills. The video is TOP NOTCH work! Absolutely stunning! This goes into my favorites immediately, in spite of the music.
