If skimpy is all that turns you on, then I feel kinda sorry for you. ;(

We can also ask, why female players are sometimes playing male characters.
The only differences between a male and a female character in EVE is how the portrait looks and to be honest, I like female faces more then male ones and that is the primary reason, most of my characters are female.

Wrong game to ask this in. Better to be asked in AoC. Or even WoW. Or EQ2. In EvE we don't even have boobies to look at. More's the pity.

An alternate question is why does it bother you enough to make a forum post about it?
Are you annoyed you can't chat up female avatars for fear of there being a guy behind them or are you just insecure?

Why not? Its a RPG. As someone who has roleplayed pencil and paper for years, I see no problems with men making female characters.
Its totally a non-issue as far as I am concerned.

Why not?
I have 2 main characters the and three alts (which I don't really use) 2 are blokes (as am I in real life) and 4 are women... of the two mains I have one bloke one women.
The only reason for me rolling a female character is I like the pictures of them a little better.

The internet: Where men are men, women are men and children are FBI agents.
Let's say you know a guy who plays a chick. Another teammate doesn't know this yet. Just with the HOPE that this person might be a RL chick, he treats the person who he thinks is really a female a LOT nicer than he would otherwise. I think that's what it's all about. Watching someone make a fool of themselves.

Who said it bothered me? Oh thats right you assumed it bothered me merely because I asked "Why?" You didn't work with Miss Cleo did you, such deep understanding of people with such little information to work off of. You need to ease up on the hateraid. Try cutting down to just two glasses a day.
At any rate, interesting responses. I just wanted to get a birds eye view of the whole thing since all the guys in my gaming group had all the same answers.

I agree, its a game, I care not if the players are actual male or female. And I have to say, I have used many female chars earlier in games, mostly because I like to look at girls more then men :P.

I just follow a simple rule of Age Old Drag Queen Etiquette:
When in Female Form, "He" is allways refered to as "She", or any other applicable nomenclature fitting that gender.
So, Fellas... If I call you "Darlin" or some-such, and you immediately reply "Hey! I'm a Guy!"... Keep this little rule from an alternative lifestyle in mind.

Edited by: Tommy Reslin on 20/06/2008 21:29:58 People need to stop insulting the original poster. You're all jumping to conclusions. He never once said anything bad about it, you're merely assuming that he thinks badly about it. I once asked this same question without ever thinking anything bad about the people who do play as female characters. I was just curious much like the original poster claims to be.
I personally prefer making male characters due to the fact that I roleplay occasionally. It's easier to associate with males because I am one which also makes roleplaying one quite a bit easier. I'm also very different than most people in that I don't associate video game characters as "hot" nor do I really stare at real female body parts either.
This doesn't make people that do wrong but some people are different and therefore don't understand why some people make certain choices. It's actually rather fun to figure out why people do certain things or make certain choices. So keep the insults down to a minimum please. No one's being hostile. :)
*Edit* What I'm trying to say is that no one thinks alike so whereas your choice as to why you do it might be obvious to you it's not obvious to others. So while it might seem like a "duh" it really isn't because everyone thinks differently.

Wait, so you mean the rolling eyes, "ughs", "ewwwws" and condescending tone aren't enough to "judge a book by its words and actions"?

Ah, I wasen't aware he did any of that. I saw his first post and his last one. Most of the people insulting him were quoting his first post. It seems I messed up, in that case, fire away. :P
*Edit* I thought it was someone else but I see what you mean. A few replies in he made the comment "But isn't there some other word for men 'roleplaying' as girls." I apologize for trying to defend the wrong person.
