Edited by: VicturusTeSaluto on 22/06/2008 22:33:33 there is a known issue with these cards and eve.
What seems to be occuring is that EVE is sending some kind of completely gibberish command to the card, causing it to enter an infinite loop. If you run in fullscreen it seems to usually be able to do a VPU recover.
There is no fix at this time. What you need to do is just keep complaining to CCP(and be as detailed as possible in petitions and bug reports) and hope that they decide that it is important enough to address.

I would not state something to be a fact if it had yet to be confirmed as such.
Now we just need to keep telling CCP to fix it.

your Card overheats or is to hard overclocked...
just try these :
Clean Coolers or lower the clocks a bit.
No this has nothing at all to do with overclocking or overheating. This only happens in eve. I can play all sorts of VERY new and VERY demanding games without this happening. This is an eve issue; Why? Because it is triggered by something in this game: GATE FIRE or JUMP BRIDGES. There are no ifs or buts, CCP needs to fix this or atleast ****ing acknowlage that they made a ****-up in latest patch.
I've had this problem with Radeon-cards and other games - it's not exclusive to EVE. I've got no solution, only that I've switched over to Nvidia. But that's not related to this specifik error.
I had no issues with various ati cards and eve(or any other games for that matter) until the trinity patch and this card.

Edited by: VicturusTeSaluto on 09/07/2008 10:33:00 Look, you are just not terribly informed. The VPU recover by itself is not like some specific category of problem. VPU recover is a protective feature to stop the computer from hard-locking and can happen for any broad number of reasons.
In this instance, it is called by eve sending improper calls to the card, and causing it to enter an infinite loop. It is not like this problem is in any way lacking documentation.
