Well it looked bloody pathetic to me. I went to Tama in search of some action since the Amarrians aren't exactly puttimng up the fight down south... I see the great blobs and hope for some fireworks, but no... Just 2 grups of noobs looking at each other... Go back to 0.0. tbh....

What, no slaughter? Outrageous! Must have been two good fleet commanders - get them back to 0.0 quick!
The above is irony with some added truth and speculation. :)

Please stop reporting on Carebear Warfare, engage in some real pvp where the battles count instead of this arena style crap. It's nice new players and non-pvpers can get some experience with FW, but these fights are meaningless and are simply an entry point for players to get into pvp.

Really... The Caldarri blob is sitting in .8 space, so you can't really expect the Gallente fleet to jump in. Given this, the Caldari blob had all the advantages. The enemy was on the gate, but couldn't jump through obviously. The Caldari blob could have jumped and raped them instantly with missiles as noone was aligned or particularly fast. Bad FC'ing on the Caldari side IMO. The Gallenteans were vulnerable on the gate, but effectively kept Caldari out of their own territory...

If you'r such a brave man, why didn't you engage ? Maybe the rest would have followed you in the fight.
On a more serious note, the reason might have been the fear of lag. If the fleets are eaqual, the one who's jumping in will lose the fight, especially if the other side deploys drones. The jumping in fleet will have ships decloaced while fleet members are still in the session change process, others will have an emergency warpout. The side who is defending can focus fire on the few who didn't have too much lag and pick targets that jump in after lag or are warping back from emergency warpout one by one. Such cases happened in the past, so some FCs are quite cautions engaging equal numbers.

In 0.0 you have to maintain your own outposts, manage your own shipping chains to keep POS's fueled and construct ships and modules. You have to manage politics, defend your space and take over more when you desire it, carefully balancing how much you and your allies are capable of defending with the potential gains. Entire systems of government and economy are created to meet the needs of the fragile environment...
So is FW the same as 0.0? Well, everything revolves around NPC stations and NPC corps, no player involvement, everyone can hop over to their trade hub in an instant whenever they need something, the contested points being fought over are meaningless and don't benefit the victors in any major way...
Tldr: You are completely wrong.

Actually this sounds like some diplomacy has reared its head. Maybe Both fleet commanders have realised that shooting each other solves nothing and had a nice cup of tea with some biscuits.

they better be hobnobs
they ROCK EXTREMEEEEEEEEEEEE
if you say that gallente has caldari stuck in there own sapce then it was the caldari that needed to push forwards since they need to get into low sec .... why would gallente need to move into caldari high sec when they dont need to, caldari need to move into low sec and so gallente had the higher ground
Gallente win
the end... now that was a nice bed time story

No but the PvP part is the same. What your saying is 0.0 is full of advanced politics, trade routes, Sov, building of your own allaince markets.
The PvP is however the same, you fly out, you take over space, you manage your ships and modules, you take over space you push and pull territory.
So yes it's 0.0 lite. But this doesn't make the PvP fake, it's not an anera style combat system it's the same as any empire war before it but with a small sov system and a free war dec. And nothing is wrong with that, it's fun.
Players coming out of FW will know how to fight in 0.0 specially with the changes coming to 0.0 warfare with the timer system. relax FW is just training people in a space where there are normally running empire markets to provide ships instead of having to actully understand logistics.
So don't bash it's PvP just call it PvP for people that want it easy :P
I hate these posting saying it's fake PvP, which honestly it's an internet spaceship game, it's ALL FAKE.

Vak you're right, if people want more meaningful pvp (which in turn requires many many hours of their time to defend poses/take part in defense operations) then 0.0 is their goal. However if they'd like to engage in fun, quick n dirty pvp (with little commitments) FW seems to be their avenue. Theres little reward at the moment in FW other than well ... fun.
At the end of the day things go boom and people have fun, Is that so evil ?

The problem is that no one in the State Militia forms and goes through other gates into Black Rise except Tama. So the Gallente just come to Tama and sit on the gate. Then nothing happens, other than a few noobs jump through and get killed, and the Federation KB gets padded a little more.

I think you guys are reading a little too much into it. As far as the Gallente fleets I've been in go, we just want fights. Even if they are against the odds. We're not really concerned with holding the field afterwards, etc... because it's meaningless.
Even the fight with EXE that was called a "massacre" didn't bother us. We had the fleet reformed and heading back before EXE and RA finished.
