Having the same issue. Running Windows 7 64 bit. Repair tool (latest version) completes, but doesn't fix the launcher or the exe. I had a BSOD when I started the launcher the first time today (worked fine yesterday) and when I get back to windows I got the following error when starting the launcher or exe.

I had the same problem. Windows 7 64 bit. The repair tool completes then throws an error when closing, and the patcher crashes as previously described, with the following log :
Exception in thread Thread-1: Traceback (most recent call last): File "threading.pyc", line 530, in __bootstrap_inner File "threading.pyc", line 483, in run File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 117, in DownloadPart File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 136, in _DownloadPart File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 762, in callback FileSyncError: data corruption
I've now fixed it though. The ESET posts before made me think that firewalls might be involved. I was behind an Untangle Corporate Firewall (which has never been a problem for patching in the past). So I VPNed out to Los Angles (VyprVPN), and presto, the patcher works.
Looks to me like a firewall incomatibility glitch (possibly in combination with Win7 64), combined with bad error messages. |

EDIT: It seems to be a firewall problem since I can't even redownload the client after I deleted the existing one. I can't even download manually because the 'executable' file gets the same error as the automatic installer. "An unknown error occured while downloading the installer payload."
EDIT: Uninstalling AVG anti-virus did not change anything.
Hi,
Can you try to
1. Open the eve client directory, 2. Open the launcher subdirectory 3. Delete the cache folder. 4. Open this in a browser http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt 5. Force refresh the page (CTRL+F5) 6. Start the Launcher again
Please let us know how that works.

Curious.
Who is your Internet Provider?
What Modem/Router are you using?
Do you have any software firewall outside of Windows 7's built in firewall enabled?
I am curious as to why CCP would change the Patch Download ports and such from the previously working patcher's, (if that is infact the case). But either way, new change is always a bit buggy for any game that makes a big change for the future. Go play some EA games with Origin and see how you hate CCP then. :P |

I deleted the whole client to try a fresh install. But now I can't even download the client. I tried the automatic installer from the account management and the manual one (executable). But they don't work. I get the error "An unknown error occured while downloading the installer payload." after selecting a directory to install in. |

Not anymore, the error was the same as those with ESET NOD Antivirus. Repair tool, cant remember really, just said it failed. And the eve installation program also fails... Starting to think I will have to reinstall my entire PC, again... |

I ran exefile.exe in /bin folder, downloaded the patch, it ran, installed the launcher, and the launcher is now working.
Now I am hit with another problem.. sweet..
Launch has a loading bar down the bottom saying
(1/3): Creating EVE_Online_349998-3500962.patch
I loads up to 25%, and then jumps back to 0% and starts again. It's been doing this for almost an hour now
edit, oh and for some reason my eve online folder is 42GB is size... |

Import patch file manually to the 1.09 launcher. Then close, kill launcher process if still running and rerun it. It worked for me. |

He already RageDeleted everything. If he can get the full client downloaded he will still need to patch it. :/
Now if you download the client file, and it gives you an error for being corrupt or anything before even reaching the patcher, you have a problem with your system and not CCP. |

Crap happens. Though this launcher is sort of needed and will definitely improve over time. Every MMO out there has one now and while there are times of pain (I had a run with WoW years ago and discovered my Ram was not stable in my Overclock which caused the hash checks to error out every time which was painful with 6+G downloads). Once all the bugs are ironed out it will be 95% network/system issues. Hopefully they do add a torrent form of patching to help those with direct server issues and overall lighten the server load while having good integrity check built in. |

Hi, I'd appreciate it if you could provide me with the contents of /EVE/launcher/cache/launcher.log via Pastebin or something similar. Thanks! |

Odd but where does it fail, in the downloading phase or the patching phase. One can be a networking/connection issue, the other could be a system stability issue that may not even crop up during a reformat/reinstall. (I have seen it many times) |

This is during the launcher installation, there isn't even an EVE folder.
I just tried the manual again and suddenly it seems to be working. I'll post back if it doesn't.
Thanks!

Same. I had a load of exception errors earlier, saw the note on anti-virus software, but I don't have any. Restarted pc, tried the repair tool - nothing so ended up uninstalling and trying to reinstall via online downloader - however, this keeps failing and directing me to the manual links which have also just failed. Getting frustrated now as everything worked fine before patches and launcher and other people seem to have it working just fine. |

I too am getting the missing or corrupt file issue when downloading. This seems to be a CCP server issue as the downloader loses connection with your server (timeouts). The only other resolution to this is putting the client update on a torrent site to download or some other storage site. |

Add my name to the list of people with patching issues. I now have more than one useless installation of EVE; one set on 64-bit, with the incompatibility issue, the other set on 32 bit with no reaction at all. Repair tool flunks out with some errors, downloading (3rd time since the new launcher!) the game client fails as well.
Frankly, I do not want to pay for a game that I have to download and re-install every time I want to play or whenever there's an update. This has been the case ever since the new launcher came out. Before that I've never had an issue.
I've opened a petition and I will wait for the response, but I've got to admit I am rather de-motivated at this point.

Has anyone had any luck with this?
I'm getting sick of this. ever since the launcher, every update has been a painful process. I would always have to reinstall the game. and the installer always says to install manually. then I go and download the payload files. there was this one file that always stopped at 1.1 g (but is actually 2.2 g). and I'm sure its not my internet connection, I have a very fast connection (20mbps, 50mbs within SG) and downloading other bigger files was not a problem. This has been the scenario for me every single update. and today, I am having the same fcking issue. i click on launcher and it updates and then it says its incompatible with my windows version. If I run exefile directly, it *seems* to work fine. I am getting tired of all this BS that you are releasing. I have a notebook and a desktop both 64bit win7 i7 and its the same fcking problem. Please do your job CCP and give us a working game. I usually spend 10 -15 minutes a day to play this game because of some personal stuff I have to attend to at the moment and I cant hang around for hours trying to figure out how to get this to work so that my money wont go to waste because my character is not training any skills. This kind of response is acceptable if its an isolated issue. but a lot of us are encountering this sh*t of a problem. These problems should have been caught during testing so you don't release this crap on us. its not like we are running P4s on our grandma's 486, these are new hardware that should have been tested with your fcking launcher before it was released.

Anyhow i managed to get EVE working again. Thankfully I had long skill queues. After multiple client downloads and running the repair, I can get it to run on Win7 64 bit pro.
Even then CCP, this isn't cool, you wanna keep tabs on this issue. |
