Never under any circumstances pay a pirate and expect him to know the word honor. You just can't tell. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

If that happened in Invicta the guy would have to pay the money back. Its not about honor, its about biz. Some ppl thinks its cool to act like *******s in game and they r mostly leet kids (exceptions do exist) Some guys grief with a style and still gets respected while doing it.
We prefer to be on the second category and we do have regular customers who are paying us to be left alone and it works nicely for both parties.

I remember when my buddies blew up a freighter just as he decided to pay the ransom.
We gave all of it back.
People who blow up their targets, and steal the ransom just to make more money ruin the market, essentially. If the idiots...i mean if the humble pilots are blown up deliberatley after paying a ransom , then it's less likely that their story will encourage people to pay a ransom over being blown up.
Some people in this thread forget to acknowledge that it's not about giving money to the pirates. It's about the time and effort into getting the ship they are being ransomed in. I bet it took a long time to the navy mega. Now, if this person had the option of losing their prized possession, and paying a fraction of it's cost to keep it alive, then the choice is simple.
I really hate the *snippers* who blow up the nubs after being payed a ransom. You ruin it for me and my buddies doing an honest days work. >_<

Um... i been in low sec with gang ransoming people before... very rarely would they actually not pod wether or not isk was paid, a bit out of order but what? you actually expect good manners from Pirates? Not sure whats odder tbh....
How did you manage to get into pvp with your navy mega?

and this is why i will never pay a ransom. and i will laugh in the face of 1400mm arty as i tell this to the fools scramming me. and i'll be laughing as my clone activates and as they weep at how stupid their idiot pals are for dishonoring ransoms.

All wordsmithing aside, you CAN play the game honorably, and be a pirate. If you disagree, go watch VETO in action for a few days. If you are still not convinced, then you're probably just another soon-to-return-to-WoW player that's just mad they can't get everything the easy way on every mmo they play.
