Like Iran doesnt deserve it...
But besides that, if you think talking to a dictator such as Iran's(honestly, I know his name I just cant spell it )would work you obviously dont take these guys seriously.
And lastly, in the end wanting to start a war isnt exactly racism, it would only be bigotry if it were against all muslims(whether it be physically or verbally).
Honestly I had another point to make somewhere but the forums ate it
Yeah and starting a war does, just look at Afghanistan and Iraq... Don't think it matters anyway. The closer they get to being a president the less they are going to change. Ralph Nader is my favorite, but there is only room for capitalism in american politics so i don't really care about who wins the election.

Only 2 people I've met from the vietnam era get completely tanked on the 4th when the fireworks go off and they end up in a closet.
Well the second one is always drunk. He got out on a section 8.

I would really like to see mccain get in office, mostly because of obama's proposed 40% tax increase, which would be crushing.
And anyone who thinks high gas prices are good because we drive less and save the environment is a mental case. Not to mention the Death tax he wants back, why should i pay taxes because i died. -------------

The poor medical treatment after breaking his limbs in from ejecting and the subsequent torture afterwards as a prisoner in vietnam left him unable to raise his hands above his head without feeling alot of pain. He's just dealt with that issue for his entire life and doesn't make a big deal about it in public.
As for the elections, if McCain wins be prepared to see more accusations of election fraud. The last congressional elections had them and then promptly disappeared when it was discovered that the Dem's had control of Congress after all.
Also be prepared to see more debates about the paper vs. electronic method of voting. Despite 4 years this issue still hasn't been properly addressed. Its like we procrastinate until it becomes a media issue.

Afghanistan was harboring the person who attacked us.
And there were several reasons to invade Iraq, they had a ruthless dictator incharge, they are a powerfull nation in the middle east and thus would serve very well as a central hub of the other view(against terrorism)in the middle east, they could have had weapons of mass destruction(not necessarily nukes, chemical weapons yes), and there was a very good chance they harbored terrorists aswell.
But like I said, this post isnt about this... And we should drop it before we go deeper in political bull.

Originally by: Remata Lakira I lost interest in the policies of each candidate once Ron Paul got kicked out but I'd rather that Obama becomes the next president. As I said I don't know as much about him as I should but I do know that he is trying to remove the influence of lobbyists from the US government (kinda like Ron Paul but to a lesser extent) and he gave a speech on how more African Americans need to act like men and stick with their families rather than run away. he also said that the black community can no longer use their grim past as an excuse to act like thugs.
McCain authored laws to remove lobbyist influence from the government. In fact, McCain and the RNC in general, have only raised some 2% of their money from lobbysist, and I believe a figure from some quarter report had Obama and the DNC at 4%. That doesn't mean Obama still isn't getting oil exec money for example. In fact, oil execs have been sponsoring campaign funding events for Obama (or, "soft" campaign contributions). End of April, Obama took in over $330K from oil companies. Some execs, while not donating through PAC's, and personally campaigning for Obama and "bundling" that is collecting their own pool of donators and sending them to the campaign. Two oil execs have bundled $150K for Obama. In comparison, McCain got $445K from oil companies. All corporation donate to both parties.
If Obama wants to live up to his campaign TV ads, he would send the money back. In fact, he would live up to his promise of a publicly financed campaign where funds are limited, but he threw his promise out the window last week.

ok i give my last reply and then we drop it. the hole afghan war isn't a big iffy you had a UN mandate so fair enough. although you might argue that the afghan people, most of which had nothing to do with 9/11 is the ones suffering, and i don't think two wrongs make one right.
To the Iraq thing ofcause they could have had weapons of mass destruction, but then again intelligence told us they didn't (i.e. Hans Blix) ****** was a dictator correct but so is the royal family in Saudi Arabia and whoever is leading Kuwait, so why Iraq? There were plenty of countries to choose from Saudia Arabia would make much more sense since they were harboring terrorists aswell and you could look outside the middle east the list of countries with dictators are quite long. oh and by the way ****** was not a religious dictator, although my bet is, that is how iraq will end up when you choose to leave.

I like McCain. What's worse than the anti-christ? That's what I think of lobbyists in any case.
Whenever I have a discussion with people about Iraq it always generates this snide cynicism about weapons of mass destruction but hardly ever does anyone mention that Iraq was starting to stock pile and had used chemical weapons. They are not restricted to trench war fare and it was just a matter of time before he found an opportunity to equip guerrillas or jihadists with them to carry out the attacks he was afraid of receiving retaliation against for doing it himself. Ever wonder why a dictator would have a biologic weapon for destroying wheat crops? Sure the whole war thing is a mess but what do you expect from a war. Took that reality a few years to set in for the people that wanted it in the first place, not that it really matters to the people that profit from it.
I think it is a mistake if America wants to cut loose and completely withdraw from Iraq even with all the bad publicity and people thinking Americans are violent and malevolent it will look like a sign of weakness and a new cycle of violence will start all over again. America made it their mess and obligated themselves to developing a country that may not be ready for it yet. There have been a lot of technological advancements but civilization is still fragile and the U.S. has a lot of it's own work to do. Obama seems like too much of an idealist to me and just wants to play with a giant piggy bank.
Politics is boring sorry for the wall of text.

Even if his policies weren't pretty awful I wouldn't vote for him simply because hes way too old.
Both sides have horrible policies, but between the two I think i'd rather vote for mccain simply because he has a better past record(obama has alot of...Dealings with racist and rather iffy people).
Just my two cents.
Yes, because McCain singing "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys' Barbara Ann was in no way racist or iffy.

Why not though? After all Saudi Arabia has a worse human rights record than Iran (at least women are allowed to drive in Iran!) and yet the US seems to be very happy to talk to them.

obama lying at aipac - sucking up to israel and doing what israel wants
why do you think israel is a very important ally anyways?
because they think they are "gods chosen people" haha what a laugh.. jews are not gods chosen people, everything they are raised to believe is a lie and a falsification of history.
but "gods chosen people" have a lot of pull, as long as they keep saying that they are.

I will vote for McCain, but Obama will win.
All I can hope for is a stalemate in congress for Obama's full term (hopefully only 4 years) so that he can't actually pass any of his ultra-liberal policies like national health care.
He's too far left of center to actually get anything done, so his presidency will just be a waste of time IMO.
I just can't see McCain winning though, Bush ruined it for Republicans this time around.

I rather like Obama, his approach to internationnal relation seem to be the most levelheaded, and not with letting personal feeling get in the way of crisis resolution.
I was wary of clinton, because she seems to be a particulary cynical politician, and too willing to resort to dirty tricks.
Huckabee, well, he was funny, sort of, but also scary. His claim that AIDS-infected people should be quarantined... Well, a raving lunatic, to say the least.
McCain, now, seem a bit more subtle, but I find him a lot more scary. He's displayed some worrying ignorance about the world outside US border, been already been caught lying about Irak (He was filmed saying it was safe to buy things at a market in Irak, but kept his bodyguards out of the camera field, and cut at editing the little fact that the seller he was chatting with said customers had to be carefull about snipers), and his various declarations about Irak stank of pig-headedness, even to the point of denying reality. In short, another Bush in the making, expect a potentially more energetic Bush.
I may be wrong, but that's the impression I have from them... ------------------------------------------

Edited by: Buxaroo on 26/06/2008 14:05:52 Edited by: Buxaroo on 26/06/2008 14:04:29 I would have voted for McCain in 2000 if he had gotten the nomination. But Bush and his cronies made sure he lost in South Carolina with a bunch of racist rumors about him having fathered a black child and thus lost the primary there. But the McCain of today.....he's too busy getting close and pandering to the ultra conservative religious morons who everyone thinks is the backbone of Republicans. And his biggest mistake is wanting to stay the course in Iraq....there is no course. Out military is getting weaker by the day. Pull out, let them fall into chaos...they are going to anyways when we leave even if its 20 years from now.
So my money is on Obama. Regardless of some of his hypocrisies, he's going to make the better candidate long term. Some of the guys above me don't like the idea of universal healthcare. And your saying what we have is better? Every country has this except us. So what if it wreaks of socialism. If our system is broke and everyone else's isn't...
But the lynch pin to Obama getting my vote was the one thing he said that everyone else gave him flack over: "Bitter voters are turning to guns and religion". Yes, they are. To me that signals that he will be a rational thinker as opposed to going with your gut kind of stupidity that is the Bush thinking process or lack thereof.
Having said that, if McCain or Obama wins, we will be MUCH better of in America and the rest of world no matter who wins. Bush will go down as the worst presidency we have had in a very long while. Our constitution being trashed for partisan gains, our military becoming too stretched to go after REAL wars as opposed to stupid wars, economy on the rocks, oil prices sky rocketing thus effecting everything....all the while Bush is asleep at the wheel.
Are we better off than where we were in 2000? And no, CEO's need not respond.
If McCain wins, I hope all this pandering to the neocons was just an act...if it isn't.....then more of the same failed policies.

You can keep it tbfh...
In any event, the Republicans will have enough seats in congress to block it. That's all I'm care about. Hillary tried the same liberal BS years ago as first lady.
I refuse to vote for lesser treatment than I get now, and have it cost me more money in taxes than what I currently pay in monthly insurance fees now. No thanks.

How would non americans feel about us offering opinions on who they should choose to lead them?
