I've got to say that CORE is probably the most well developed Corp I've been in. Unfortunately for their choices in the Caldari nature, I'm not a suitable member for them. If there are ANY caldari members who need a home though, I would HIGHLY recommend these guys. They are very active and a great group of people to chat with.

My way to the CORE:
You might call me pampered as in my MMO experiences (I did start playing those almost exclusively back in 1999 - before the MMO-term was even coined) I always had much luck with my servers/guilds/alliances/clans/corps. They always had their own top-notch forum and additional communication possibilities (from irc-channels to teamspeak servers). My luck did hold, as the same is true for the C.O.R.E Research Expedition.
But even more important than any technical aspects could ever be are the people. In this regard I was lucky as well as I did always find very nice friends among those playing with me. Many of whom are still my best friends years after I quit playing the respective online game where I got to know them. One of them even became my brother-in-law. :) My luck did hold, as the ppl in the C.O.R.E. Research Expedition are also friendly, helpful and all-around very nice :)
Thus I do feel quite lucky to be part of the C.O.R.E.
Many ppl seem to be changing corps because the ones they are in atm are inactive, not responsive or not progressing at all or even disbanding around them. That is always sad to hear because interacting with other ppl is the one unique feature of online games (in comparison to other single-player games). And I am happy to tell you that I got lucky in this regard as well: It is quite impressive to see the growth and progression in the C.O.R.E. (and this even though I myself am quite new to it and this game).
What made me join them in the first place you might ask? Well the recruitment post on the eve-forums made me look at the portal page. I was searching for a friendly environment in which I might explore the world of EVE. The info on the page suited my needs quite well: From the strict NRDS policy (as I am no fan of PVP) to the way the corp history was presented. From that you can see a nice progression taking place. The portal also hinted at possible RP content under development (of which I am a fan). My next step in my information-gathering process was the forum itself where I had to submit my pilot papers. I was happy to see that beginners (like me) were also welcome and was also happy to see the Roster. Even though at first glance the EU side there was not over-represented it did show a corp neither too small nor too large to be impersonal. Perfect :) The rest they say is history. Thus I am quite happy about my lucky choice to apply. |

I'd been playing Eve solo for nearly 8 months and was looking for a corp that would help me focus on specific goals and show me areas of the game I hadn't seen before. CORE are a friendly, easy going bunch who have helped me develop in a number of areas in the short time I've been a member. I feel like I'm making a valued contribution to the team effort and am looking forward to helping CORE grow and expand in the future.

Major Update
Our regular and competently developed activities include, but not limited to:
Mining: Corporate Sponsored Mining Program/ Mining Operations & Multiple Orca owners for Operational Support. Most and best of all is our industrial group of players. This group loves to mine, help, chat, build ops and try new things. Any miner/ new player would benefit from joining and befriending this group of people.
Missioning: Agent Missioning (L1-L2 Support & Coaching / L3-L5 Solo to Fleet Operations), Cosmo, Complexes and Combat Sites (Escalation) via exploration. We have some great pilots some of which are walking EFT's and a lot more training and learning the trade. If you can blend your game with our corporate visions we'd really appreciate the chance to talk and prove we're worthy to call your home.
Exploration: Actively tracking down Gravimetric (Mining), Magnetometric (Archaeology/Salvage), Radar (Hacking), and Unknown (Combat Sites). We have a handful of experienced explorers, several training and learning the trade. We're always looking for more pilots interested in joining our Exploration Division.
Skunk Works: Our research, invention, manufacturing (T1 & T2), marketing and trade division. We maintain a large POS (10 Labs & 3 various manufacturing arrays) within Empire space and have plans to build another in the near future. We provide various supports and reduced cost to all of our full members. This support ranges from free T1 ammo to free ship upgrades to new EVE players along with "at cost" manufacturing for our veteran pilots.
Our MFG abilities include all ammo, rigs and racial ships up to cruisers including the T2 versions. We then narrow down to Caldari and Industrial ship classes along with several capital parts: Covertor, Retriever, Mach, Hulks, Orca and growing. Our T2 manufacturing extends to Battleship and below.
Black Sanctuary: We own and maintain our very own alliance. This simply means a safe place within dark space.
Our short range plans (SRP):
Now that our financial and industrial arms have been established we're working on the following:
PVP skills, individual and group combat training.

I cannot recommend C.O.R.E. enough for people who are hopping from corp to corp or staying in their rookie corp wondering if any of those "WTFPWNBBQ" type PvP corps will be interested in their slightly more laid back attitude.
If you are sensible, mature and dedicated in intent then C.O.R.E. is ideal for you. We don't expect you to play fifty hours a week. We don't expect you to give us all your money. We don't expect you to spend all your play time in fleet ops.
We do expect you to be polite. We do expect you to contribute you knowledge. We do expect some of you time.
All you people in the rookie corps might also be wondering "What can a corp do for me?". We can provide you cheap ships and ammo (in some cases free). We can provide you with services that assist your occupation. Do you like to mine? We will buy your ore from you so you can avoid any refining inefficiency and sales tax. It also eliminates you from having to haul. Do you like to mission? Run higher level missions with friends to increase your fun and profit. Do you like exploration? Feel like you are contributing by giving over those sites you can't handle to people who can. If you scratch their back you'll get a scratch back later.
There is such a benefit of belonging to a corp I don't know how I puttered around in little ten person corps with some friends before or in the rookie corp before that. C.O.R.E. is a corp that will respect you and where you can find a wealth of experience and companionship.
