The EVE Online: Empyrean Age 1.0.1 patch will be deployed on Tuesday, 1 July. We estimate that this patch will only add approximately 30 minutes to the regular downtime. Tranquility will be down from 11:00 to 12:30 GMT. This patch consists mainly of fixes to EVE Voice and it will also include the previous optional patches.
Patch Notes will be made available later. Updates to the notes may be added should any further items be cleared through the Quality Assurance process. These updates will be highlighted with green text. |

After the installer runs if you hit Finish rather than launch you wont lose your settings. Found that out the hard way |

Edited by: Razin on 30/06/2008 13:55:12 Is the OOG EVE voice client in development? When do we get the patch to fix the erratic windows behavior?
edit- Is it now possible to assign mouse buttons 3 and 4 on a Logitech mouse (G9 in my case) to activate talk? |

Yes I am aware of that, and for the last +yr it worked, but last patch killed them off anyways. |

Yeah, click finish. Never let the game relaunch itself.
And the stupid fleet & drone windows still move around at will. |

Hi I've had the "moving windows" problem too. When I undocked all my windows including drones, overview tec. moved to random positions.
Solution:
1) Uninstall the client 2) Manualy delete the folder in which the game was installed 3) Delete User/Application Data/CCP/EVE this folder slightly differs on XP and Vista bud it's name is always CCP. This folder stores the game cache!
Done :)

4) Install the client which you've downloaded from internet ... |

I hope the push to talk mouse button issue is fixed. I use mouse button 4 for all voice chat in every voice chat program and game that has voice chat that I play and they all work fine...except in Eve, where only the middle mouse button works. |

Only problem with having to be logged in, is that when eve crashes or lags (which it tends to do a lot), than your voice comms go down. If it was OOG, you could still talk even tho your eve just crashed. This is really the only thing holding it back from being really widely used. |

quick question, conssidering you were gonna release this patch 1 week after the optional patch why not wait a week??
Please tell me that the optional patch wasnt being playtested on TQ by anyone who downloaded it, and once it was deemed okay then added to the compulsory patch??

Yeah, during FW so far EVE voice has functioned through the lag, obviously not through the DCs though... not being able to tell your fleet-mates that you disco'ed and are logging back in kinda sucks, especially with it being in addition to the auto-boot from fleet 'feature.'

Because the bugs the optional patches dealt with were annoying enough in some situations that some of the playerbase (ie, those trying to run multiple clients and no longer able to, etc) would rather be able to try out the fixes even in a 'beta'-like version I suspect...
If you don't want to beta-test optional patches, don't click yes when it asks if you want to install them |

Thankfully it's not your decision. Hence those that desire this functionality (for purposes explained in this thread) use TS or Vent, and will never use EVE voice to any great extent unless this feature is provided. |

Out of curiosity, why are there no patch notes yet? I mean you are going live with the patch in a few hours? Why are the notes not ready yet? I don't like patch announcements with any kind of heads up whats in them. Granted, you guys are getting much much better at implementing and updating (no more 2-3 days of bad server per update). Just would like to know whats coming.

Edited by: ireishego on 30/06/2008 22:15:18 And what is the chance of this patch fixing the previously "fixed" window movement when docking/using F11 map/using solar system map etc. etc. - I have installed all patches to date and renamed my cache/settings folders and made up new overviews etc. and it is exactly the same, everytime I undock or use the maps my scanner, drones and people and places windows pile on top of each other, my overview snaps to the right edge of the screen and the "commands" window snaps to the top of the screen. I have tried changing snap distance to no avail...

Unfortunately this is a UI issue and therefore not considered an actual problem. Bug reports on the subject are rejected with "Intended Game Feature" or some such nonsense as the reason. |

According to the company who supply the voice software, there's an OOG client as standard; it's not mentioned anywhere except the technical notes though, and google fails to find a download...

Dear CCP Wrangler, any chance of a small mod, that if/when your drones get hit/shot at, they can flash red, similar to gang/fleet members in the View gang members window?
I cant see that being too hard to implement At least give it a thought, that is all i ask

Drag your drone window separate, open it up and then open the drones in space by double click on it. Resize to show 5 drones, then you can monitor them for taking damage. |

CLick on the little icon to "unpin" the overview so it is grey and not see-through. Then open those offending windows; they will work correctly.
Afterwards you can reset the overview to clear and it stays working correctly, at least it did for me. |
