Thats in my top 5 if not top 3 chronicles. ____ Telltale sign of their presence is non-linear teleportation (www.eve-online.com/races/theodicy/Theodicy_All.pdf)

I think this is absolutely brilliant. Too bad there are too few of these things! It would be nice if there were periodic chronicles like this, not just one!

A good story. BTW, those that wonder why the Caldari were able to get to Luminaire so easily and have Fouritan agree to give Caldari Prime will find the answers in the Empyrean Age novel.

when i first heard of the president surrending the planet to the caldari i thought of him as a coward and the same for the whole federation, but this story proved that wrong, i hope to see alot more from the gallente and its president.

Wow, this was an excellent story. It really gives you a perspective on the Gallantee side of the war. And how they veiw the invasion. As a Caldari character that likes to RP I found this incredibly insightful. Can't wait to read the next one. There is no glory but that in battle |

1.this is a good story 2 i found part of a poem that explains this in a confusing way .
"turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand." The Second Coming by william butler yeats veritas vos liberate |

I grew up free. I fiercely defend the US Constitution. I served in Iraq as an airborne infantryman in order to repay my debt to the nation. I learned a few things on the way.
Hate is ultimately an unsustainable power source. Foiritan is not allowing his momentary rage to eclipse his judgement. He's planning surgery on the situation. His use of the clone is proof positive. Dispassionately striking down the threat is what is called for, and he is putting in place the pieces necessary to do so.
The problem with the Caldari, the Amarr, and even the rage-filled Minmatar outlooks is that they require constant self-aggrandizing to stem a collapse of self-worth. The crueler they speak of and strike at others, the more their cycle of hatred and misery continues.
If you ever meet a person who speaks about how great he or she is at length, they are guaranteed to be self-loathing. It's a testament to Gallente understanding that other than promoting the great flavor of Quafe, the Federation doesn't go around telling everyone how they righteously hold others as slaves or make wage-serfs of its own people. The moral cowardice of the other empires is self-evident.
Maybe one day, they'll figure that out. When the Jove put down the Amarr and sent them back home they had a chance to realize that they aren't "God's" gift to the cosmos. They were too dense to get it.
Well, I'm not going to force upon them a lesson they have to learn for themselves. That's what makes me Gallente. If I have to kill them to ensure the survival of the Federation's freedoms, then I will, but unlike the other guys, I don't need to brag in local desperately seeking external validation for it.
-A Realist
P.S. I would love to see every self-professed Amarr or Caldari loyalist live a week on Saipan in the shoes of a trapped expatriate prostitute or sweat-shop worker and come back talking about how great slavery and economic exploitation are.
P.P.S. Superb story, Abraxas. |

Neither do we... We know that your soul will burn in hell one day, together with all the other heathens, heretics and evildoers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the best stories I have read in Chronicles and follows nicely after the Empyrean Age novel. As I was reading the novel, I was shaking my head in horror at how the Gallente got it so wrong. The strongest economy in New Eden but quite possibly, the least prepared military too.
However, this chronicle makes me proud to be a Gallente. There needs to be more good guys in New Eden as the universe is just too full of bad guys. Yeah, I know - welcome to EVE but can't one be a little bit optimistic and strive for the common good?

Originally by: Tek'a Rain I don't think you are correct. The President loves peace. He loves tranquility and democracy, Freedom and the noble spirit of togetherness that lies in the very core of the Federation.
He so loves these ideals, these perfect shining stars of our potential, that the acts of cowards and dogs, the so-called State, may force him to commit unspeakable acts to defend them.
Exactly.
