I think it's because of the way I named the files. It works fine on my Firefox Browser.
I can simplify the naming, and that should make it compatible. Are you using Internet Explorer or FireFox?
I'm using FireFox 2. Thanks! Specifically, I am looking for the Russian version.
Edit - Now it works. Thank you very much! ...

You mean the exact number of belts? That's not the purpose, as that information is readily available everywhere. The purpose of the map with belts is to enable identifying systems with good combinations of belts/moons/sec status/routes/location.
If there are two very similar systems that are a good combo of sec/belts/moons/routes, then it's quick to show-info on those two systems to determine which of the two is exactly best down to 1 belt accuracy.

Will someone fix it or are we doomed to see the silly errors of Babelfish proportions?
Originally by: BamseTheDane "Nullsec"(Nul-sikkerhed) and "no-sec"(Ingen sikkerhed) are both viable terms, within reference to 0.0 space =) Even if the map is in Danish, I think they should keep the English terms, by that simple statement: They both sound utter ridiciulus in Danish :P We aren't that good at shortening terms and making simple stuff in our language compared to English.. It just sounds.. WRONG!
I agree 100% with this. Danish is good at many things but shortening terms, and especially foreign ones, isn't one of them.

This isn't made by CCP, only by Serenity Steele, by himself, he spend a lot of time doing this, so tbh, quiet normal that he asks some money for it, I mean, you get a nice book (awesome actually) filled with maps of your favourite or less favourite regions :D

The Ombey 2D maps are superior in every aspect ...
Without re-hashing another post, I'd be quiet happy to challenge your "The Ombey 2D maps are superior in every aspect" statement.
For starters Let's take the unambiguous aspects where ESM is superior: - Top/Bottom/Left/Right orientation of the 2D translation matching the in-game map. - Key systems in neighbouring regions included on region map - Ability to identify distribution of moons/belts at a glance without reading detail on every system. - Display of COSMOS systems and beacons - Visually similar to the style of EVE Map - Layed out to fit on single A4 page
Feek free to Debate.

- in-game map orientation is irrelevant, the ingame map can be rotated any way you please - key systems chosen by you (market hubs etc), my own key systems may be different so not relevant - moons are only relevant where you can set up a POS, for navigation they are irrelevant and can be gathered easily from ingame - complex / cosmos identification also in Omey maps - visual similarity ? well the visual of the ingame map is the one thing why other maps are needed :-) and I prefer white background so I can write there my own notes ... - layout irrelevant, I do scale to A4 when printing and I have no problem reading the maps
Omey advantage: - free of charge - I can print them as I please ... f.e. a wall poster of the my home region with enough space for notes
anyway I should correct my previous statement: The Ombey 2D maps are superior in every aspect for my needs. --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Thanks, that I can understand. Different players have different needs.
BTW: Tip: If you're hiding/running without bookmarks then a system with a lot of moons (and hence planets) is easier to hide in.

warp (to planet or other POSless body), drop bm in the middle, warp to bm, warp to another body, drop bm in the middle, warp to bm, log off ...
moons are clustered in close proximity (1AU or so) around a planet so number of moons is irrelevant ... and I would neve try to hide at a moon without prior scouting because it can have a nasty POS anchored ... well unless I have a cloak fitted.
oh you did not address my suggestion on notes on the printed map itself and custom sized prints :-)) --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Planets can often have small armies of players at them, either waiting to go somewhere or looking for victims.. Also, a proper map wouldn't need notes, as it should contain all the info you'd want from the beginning
That being said, I don't really use maps for the reason I've mentioned. None of the free ones contain all the stuff I need and atm, I don't feel like paying a bunch of money I don't have for the printed ones

Anything can have armies around ... just no POSes that complicate matters further around planets or belts.
I generaly make a large enough print of Omey's map for the region I am interested in and make hand notes where needed ... serves my needs very well ...
I just can't see the reason to buy a book of maps. If it came on CD so I can print custom size and make notes in it, that might be another story. But why pay for something you can have for free ?
I give full credit to Ombey and his team for the maps, they are great for what they are. --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Edited by: Steiner on 13/07/2008 08:38:52 The Icelandic translation is good but some of it needs to be revised.
Glµsih=par? srsy wtf? I can't even see where you got that word from as the original (Constellation) one means "Stj÷rnumerki" in Icelandic which translates Zodiacs in English. There are few words that can replace that like "S²sla" "Sveit"(Maybe not a good one) or "Umdµmi" but that "Glµsih=par" gotta go.
Also "Stj÷rnubelti" (the supposed Asteroid belt) is referring to a belt of stars?! it should be "Smßstirnisbelti".
If you are looking for a translator for the Icelandic map I'm sure you can find a Dev or one of us willing to do some little translation on it and or making sure it sounds correct for (us) Icelanders.
edit: Just saw that translation thing on the site, going to look it over. ---

Thanks for the suggestions for corrections. As you can see from each of the downloadable maps, they're all translated by players.
If you feel one of the translations needs a lot of corrections and are the person to make them, please eve-mail me and I'll send you the original translation file to adjust.
New ones I've received to convert to Legends are in the original post.
Thanks, /Serenity.

Thanks to all the people who sent translations while I've been away on holidays.
Please email/check first .. you may be doing an existing translation, and it's better to update/improve the ones already there.
