In Eve, there are little if any consequences, despite claims to the contrary. There are no real punishments, and perhaps more importantly, little if any social control. In fact, there seems to be a strong supportive culture for behaving like an *******. There are many groups that support and reinforce exluding of other large groups of people from the "us" circle, thus limiting or eliminating normal guilt for bad deeds done to "those people".

A large part of Eve is built around preying on the weak (whether that power relation is temporary or lasting), and again, without the inhibitors rl society has, well, this is what you get.

I firmly believe most people behave pretty much as is expected of them, in RL.


However, it's also worth remembering that most "bad" people irl, whether the common ******* or a career criminal, seldom see themselves as the "bad guy". Rather, they rationalize their behavior, often by blaming their victim.

totally true, most these d1ckheads in the game would probably be thieves and murderers in RL if there were no laws and police.
