The idea came about that planetary defense systems would deal massive AOE damage to orbital targets, but the system can only task one gun per target. So as more targets became avilable, the more aoe damage they did. One or two dreads can tank the damage easily start shoving 5 of them and your going to start losing ships. hence the juggers where supposed to reduce the number of targets and increase the amount of firepower so you can tank the damage with 4 juggernatus and do the job of 12 dreads without losing them thus allowing support fire for any ground troops that need planetary strikes on demand and help the ground forces take out the planetary defenses and critical locations. It can do alot of damage to POS but the tracking of the ship is soo shoddy its not acceptable for anti capitol ship role, even out of seige mode.

I'd be happy if some of the existing ships were made a little less pointless. Like destroyers, or the cyclone (which is outclassed in every way by the hurricane).

we already have 24523434636 t1 ships in game. Why make more? What new fresh balanced roles and specialties would they bring to the table? Sorry, but there are plenty of ships right now that fill a lot of roles.
I looked at your ideas in the linked thread, and instead of wanting every race to have a ship that does everything why not learn the roles of the ships that are in the game now and using the right race/ship for the role you like? Oh and split weapons are not cool.. not as bad as omni tanking, but still not cool. --------------------------

What's wrong with split weapon systems? Sure they need more skills to be effective than regular ship, but the typhoon is an awesome ship.
I don't know what you're referencing with the omni tank comment. The proposed slot layout of the Minmitar ships? I made it that way because it's consistent with other Minmitar shield tanks, nearly equal amount of mid and low slots.
Oh, and Nova Fox, I'd love to see a few of your designs.

T1 Destroyer with tackling/ewar bonuses. T1 Battlecruiser with logistics bonuses.
