John Holt Caldari Tovil-Toba's Elite Guard	Posted - 2008.07.12 06:10:00 - [1] Plato Industries IPO Section 1 û Summary of IPO Section 2 û Background Section 3 û Business Plan Section 4 û Assets Section 5 û Share Structure and Dividends Section 6 û Exit Strategy Section 7 û Share Purchase and Buyback Section 1 û Summary of IPO Plato Industries is seeking 14 billion to finance the start up of a T1 manufacturing operation. Section 2 û Background John and Sarah have been operating in New Eden since August of 2005. They have already brought one manufacturing industry to maturity and sold it and the characters that ran it for a profit. John and Sarah also run the Plato Fund, a successful market speculation fund, that recently reached maturity. Section 3 - Business Plan Plato Industries will use 4 billion of the funds to obtain 100% control of the Plato Fund, 6 billion of the invested funds to purchase researched BPOs; and 4 billion to purchase minerals and to pay manufacturing cost. Three characters have been started to run this operation. One will be a production character, one a mining character, and one a transport and trade character. Section 4 - Assets John and Sarah will be investing 1 billion ISK into the business leaving 13 billion ISK open to investors. Of course we also covered the cost of creating and training the three characters started for this IPO. John Holt My Personal Eve Site

We expect returns to be between 10% and 15% per month. The remainder of July and August will represent our first period of activity; after that dividends will be paid monthly. During the early days while the characters are completing their training and BPOs are being purchased and researched Plato IndustriesÆ investment in the Plato Fund will insure that dividends will be paid each month. Section 6 û Exit Strategy Plato Industries will operate for at least one year. At the end of operations assets will be sold, including the characters and the full profits will be distributed to investors. The same strategy will be used if unforeseen events dictate that Plato Industries should shut down earlier than expected. In the unlikely even that both John and Sarah should perish instructions will be left on our computers for our children to dissolve the corporation and make returns to the investors. Section 7 û Share Purchase and Buyback At first this IPO will be made to former shareholders of the Plato Fund. After they have had an opportunity to invest then it will be open to the public. You may make reservations below. Payments will be sent to the corporation Plato Industries. Please wait to send payments until you have been notified in this thread that your reservation has been accepted. There is no maximum investment. However, the larger the investment the more difficult it will be to order a buyback of your shares. The maximum buy back the corporation will allow is 1 billion per month. During the first six months the buy back rate will be 75%; after that the buy back rate will be 95%. We will be happy to answer any questions perspective investors may have. I was wondering when the other ex-investors were going to make an appearance At the moment i have 2 more investments running here that will end this month.All my isk and the one that comes out end of the month will go in my own business wich i set up again a while back.So allthough i loved my initial investment in the plato fund i will not invest in this one at the moment.Also i have a second businessplan in my head wich will surely give a verry profitable return and after my initial business will be at it's investment limits i will put the extra earned isk there. Also on a sidenote so far i have not had any scams coming down on me so as long as my own business still can do with extra isk from myself i will not invest in any IPO atm .Quit while your ahead etc... I said "reserving" because he specified that current investors get first pick. Probably the same with most others. Holt/Tuttle seem to have a good enterprise running -- rave reviews and such. Speaking personally, I don't need (another) audit to know his business is probably legit.

You grew it from 1.2B to 4B in 7 weeks, and made an average of 16.6% profit per week. On 4B that is about 660M ISk profit per week That means 2.65B profit per month Now you want to trade it all in to run a manufacturing IPO that you estimate returns of between 10-15% on 14B, which is 1.4-2.1B ISK per month. Now my question is why do you fold a good business only to open a LESS profitable one. There are a few other inconsitencies: 1. I thought you did a buyback on the Plato Fund, so why do you need 4B to take it over 2. You state in the final report on 7th July 2008, that you will launch a new IPO in 2 months, but you waited 5 days? Now I may be wrong about the above 2 points, so please correct me. I just feel at the moment this seems a bit fishy, and that this MAY LOOK LIKE that you ran a very successful SCAM fund to further entice investors. I think that you should submit to a final audit of the characters in the Plato Fund to see if you did actually generate the returns claimed. If this audit turns out OK, then you should raise the capital easily. I would recommend Kaz or Shar for this. I don't think there can be any issues with confidentiality as they are completely trusted by the whole community.

They estimated the exact same % returns on the last one. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that industry is a nice change from staring at the market screen on occasion. Provided sufficient capital you also have the benefit of being able to fix your cost so you can only focus on the revenue side of the equation.

In either case, hind sight will no doubt be 20/20 The funny thing with business cases, allows people to make judgements. Now when doing trading there is no upper limit. If you can make 16.6% profit per week on a 14B manufacturing IPO then you are the greatest industrialist in Eve my friend

Do you really think I submitted my isk without running the numbers? Yes, there is a chance that the Plato fund was a set up to give them the ability to scam 13b from investors at a later date. There is a chance that the money I have given them will disappear in a puff of smoke. I'm prepared to take that chance based on the research I have done. Wether I believe that the other investors have done the same level of research or not is another matter, but I personally am happy with where I have put my isk.

Now you ran the Plato Fund which seemed very successful! You grew it from 1.2B to 4B in 7 weeks, and made an average of 16.6% profit per week. On 4B that is about 660M ISk profit per week That means 2.65B profit per month Now you want to trade it all in to run a manufacturing IPO that you estimate returns of between 10-15% on 14B, which is 1.4-2.1B ISK per month. Now my question is why do you fold a good business only to open a LESS profitable one. First, I would take exception with the idea I'm folding a business. My first goal was to expand the fund from 1.3 billion to 4 billion. I did that using investor's money. My goal now is to grow the 4 billion to 14 billion by using the fund AND an industrial approach. So I don't see it as closing a good business to open a less profitable one. I was conservative in my estimates of what the IPO would make per month. Just like your IPO, which I took part in, I'm only paying out a percentage of the profit (65%) each month. You are looking at the fund's contribution alone, but I think you need to take into account the industrial side of it as well. Quote: There are a few other inconsitencies: 1. I have no problem submitting the fund to another audit if that is what investors want. It seems a little silly since I had an audit which affirmed their profits just a few weeks back, however, I would remind potential investors here that not only did I return an average of 16% to the fund investors per week, but I also bought them out for their initial investment plus 20%. Your grieving children have to at some stage log onto a computer game which I would assume they know very little about and try to sell off assets worth a lot in some cases to try to recoup money. As cold hearted as this sounds as an investor the only concern I have for you in real life is that you are well enough to pay dividends. To believe that non players could attempt to break down a 14b IPO to repay investors is a stretch. Furthermore that they would really care enough to break down the IPO holding the rational that it is 'just a game' while totally justifiable and understandable still leaves investors out of pocket. By using someone you trust in game under some sort of inactivity policy your investors are assured of the security of their money. Not only is the attitude that investors should come secondary to your real life interests flawed it also shows the attitude you hold towards the overall IPO.
