of all the BS's that get fielded, which would be the most likely to be called primary last?
considering reputation for tank and amount of dps it spits out.
domi?

Edited by: DubanFP on 14/07/2008 18:58:05 I'm thinking maelstrom. Lots of tank, not the best DPS. Why would people bother? Then again it does have a good alpha which comes in handy when your targets go instapop. _______________

I dunno. Rokh DPS output if it's sitting at max range is pretty laughable, and it has a stout buffer to boot. Maelstrom (indeed any minnie ship) is pretty poorly regarded in general so they may be low in the list.
Personally, in my fleet combat experience it didn't seem that the average battleship was being selected by anything other than random choice. Yes the ecm boats and other support ships are early primaries but after that it's just russian roulette as far as I can tell (I CURSE the fact that my name starts with a D - I've only survied ONE fleet battle and I blame the fact that I show up early in the lists )

I don't believe a Dominix is called primary very often, probably not a Tempest either. Although one would think an Apoc would be primaried, I've never been primaried and I've flown in multiple fleets. In fact, not a single shot hit me...the Osprey popped before me.

plate abaddon
no matter what fleet your in... this ship is the most pointless one to shoot first :P
just the insane amount of HP + uber resists makes this one a long kill.
domis are easy... 2x rep tank breaks for a decent gang really fast... same for maelstrom (unless its pth x type tank fitted... seen a few these fielded... stupid whit crystal set :P) ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Edited by: Gimpb on 14/07/2008 20:36:00 Domis might not be a hot shoot me item like a brutix or something, but they get at least their fair share of the heat from what I've seen.
The domi is nicely suited to whipping up on sub-BS hulls or playing a support role and both of those things can draw a decent amount of ire, especially when it starts repping the primary or neuting that abba/mega/nano.
The abba probably does have a good chance to be last, especially since a neut is probably better at disabling it than pew pew is.

Cruise Ravens (combination of decent tank and low dps). Torp Ravens have to die asap on the other hand, and short of throwing lots of money at the problem won't have a so good tank.
Domi actually have to die early as a lot of their dps is not jammable and they often pack the like of neuts and tracking disruptors that mess with your own damage dealers.
Many other variables, like age of char count also. You try to keep the 3 year old with HG slave in an hypertanked Abaddon for last , they actually want you to shoot him. Also depends a lot on what jammers your Falcon have fitted if you have one.
That's my perspective of close range gate fighter, I suppose for sniper fleet order would be a whole

(active) Shield tanking ships tend not to have the greatest buffer in the world, so things like Ravens in particular are often called primary since they drop pretty fast.
Exception might be the Rokh, due to it's resist bonus and low DPS, but it still won't have nearly the same EHP as a Plated 'Baddon ...

Let's look at it the opposite way. Which battleships are called primary FIRST? Obviously the Scorpions. After those are vaporized, Gallente battleships are usually called. After that, I think opinions differ.
On the one hand, Minmatar BS's do lol damage, but they might be easy to kill. Amarr BS's do more damage than the Minnies, but can be very hard to pop. Caldari BSs maybe somewhere in the middle.

I always call softer BS/BC targets first after ECM so Raven, Temp, ect. Quick kills gets their fleet DPS down, then go for the harder targets. All depends on the situation though tbh. ------ // This is by design. When a ship jumps through a gate, it clears all aggression. // - BH ******** Pew on gate, if it gets hot, jump through and Ctrl-Q. Game mechanic endorsed by CCP. |

In large fleets Dominixes will not be primaried but they will also not come in last. They still have very capable remote rep abilities.

I can't think of a single useless battleship for fleet work. People putting down Domis and Ravens are ignorant at best. I have to go with Minnie ships being called primary last or the Abaddon. Did someone seriously say the Scorpion should be primaried last? Good luck with killing anything while your fleet's dps ships are jammed then... _____________ Hai. |

Tempests are easily the first to be primaried IMO
But ya, domi would be last. Total lack of DPS while being, generally, heavily tanked.
Close range I'd call ravens first, their volley dps is insane with torps, probably call rohks last at close range

uhh yea i think
wut?! as the maelstrom will be doing more damage than the tempest. them extra guns, and midslots for tracking comps/sensor boosters
and depending on small/med/large gang or fleet fight that will change the calls quite a bit.
and a sentry domi, with sentry damage rigs, and loads of damage mods...
and well shit, I never really thought what I would call in a giant fleet fight, <3 small gang

You're kidding me right? The ships with EASILY the least amount of EHP? I mean, they do less damage sure, but their tanks range from a joke to non-existent.
