I do alot of solo 0.0 stuff, but I'm also part of an Alliance which owns the space. If you want to do the same, I'm afraid you will either have to join an Alliance too, or else you will be hunted wherever you are found.
And Yes: Low-sec is much more scary than 0.0 is.
It goes like this; if I'm flying around in a system with Sovereignty: BoB/IAC etc I consider it their space and so I leave it alone. If I'm in a system with Sovereignty: Angel Cartel I don't consider it their space... Even when a section of that alliance delicately asks me to go home (in the form of "Rah! We station camp in command ships aren't you a wimp... fear me please! I can't get it up unless you cry.') Which for my eve experience is rather pathetic and boring... hence my topic.

Some alliances are paranoid enough to isolate themselves completely by shutting down their space some do not isolate their territory but isolate themselves in their homesystems or thinking procedures.
There are very few (if any) alliances who really appriciate new influx from outside. Be it industry, military (NPC/Merc-wise) or just something like ideas, visions, expectations, etc.
The human mind seems build that way. If you can grab power, you hold and keep it and defend it from anyone who looks funny at it. All while ignoring the fact that isolating yourselve this way, you loose much more than you gain.
Anyway: zero sec doesnt have to be boring, you "just" have to find the "right" zero-sec space.
Fair point, I get that EvE is geared to be hostile and combat/competition related... so most alliances are closed on communication. I wouldn't go so far as to say our inclination of game play forms on a genetic level. It seems like a school yard mentality to me. I think its cool that people actually get into the game enough to fear losing this or going out here but there has to be a point of limiting player ability of limitation (If you get what I mean.) For instance get rid of the rats in archangel space.
My problem is mostly with the "Hey you aintz belong here you... wez been here first.' I get from high security rating pilots in piewat space protecting the farmer who won't undock until I'm chased out. So what are my options on experiencing more to eve... join an alliance and become the doochebag who chases pilots like me out? No thanks.
PS for those misguided pilots (generally anal-retentive caldari avatars) who think being a doochebag means your a bad ass - toughie. No the actual definition means your 'vaguely irritating.' So stop kidding yourself... oh and lastly because I generally don't get to type it, no I'm not impressed you can get that kind of damage out of a torp on a frig.

well said. this is the game that CCP wants Eve to be, as illustrated over and over. it is no wonder the game is so very small in subscriber base and concurrent players online at any given time.
now we'll have a chorus of gobacktowow from the furious little fanbois...
If you lack the initiative to find anything better, why don't you do just that?

it seems tiny to me. i am amazed everyday when i log on at how small Eve is in terms of players.

Confirming that alliance players spend most of their time gate camping the rare noob that wanders through.
Seriously. Why would we shoot our enemies when we could grief some silly frigate that thinks they're morally superior because they're trespassing?
To trust everyone in EVE is silly. It's not that kind of game. Your trust should be hard earned, but then you end up with people you know you can count on.
Also: Stop all the narrow minded carebear "I'm just in a frigate! Waaah! Why are you shooting me!" posts. You could be a scout for a hostile fleet. You could be a cyno ship. You could be a "non threatening" tackler who will scramble someone, then let the 10 friends jump in behind for the kill.

I lost every bit of innate respect I had for you the moment you said "gaijin". It was at that point I realized that you're weaboo enough to actually use the word "gaijin" when referring to anything other than Japan. I classify people who use gaijin within English sentences as I do with the people who say ROTFL or LOL in real life when they think something is funny.

Ever used the phrase Deja vu? Wow yet it isn't english. A common word borrowed into another language, and I'm just guessing here; happens because there isn't a term with the same implied meaning. I could say 'outsider' or 'stranger' yet you knew exactly what I was referring to with gaijin; being 'shunned outsider who finds themselves treated as an enemy.' Sorry but the troll failed.

To start with 'morally superior because they're trespassing?' Ok if I believed I was morally superior it wouldnt be because I was trespassing. I'm sure I'd have a very good and well thought out reason for such a belief. Next, how can you earn trust in the direction of closed off soverienty; meet an alliance members highsec alt?
And lastly, I'm not complaining about being shot at; nor gate camps; not even station camps. All of which I have a great deal of fun with. What I dislike is the absolute hostility any neutral explorer faces from pilots whos only purpose is farming for an alliance. Hey its the same as highsec only now I can get perma camped... no interaction outside your communities ftw in eve \o/
Ugh... I think I'll admit defeat and let the post die off. Even though the alure of 0.0 was strong the effect just isn't satisfying.

This post is not tinfoil hat business this really happened. Sacrificed Flower scammed me out of my seven Dreadnoughts by saying they were going to take them out into space they had friends in and then sell them for more than I paid for them and then give the money to me. Something Squishy should expect a wardec from SPEND corp within the next 48 hours because of this. I strongly suspect, although I'm keeping the evidence secret, that noted alliance IAC also played some kind of part in all of this although I'm still putting the pieces together. No this is not tinfoil hat business this really happened.

Flower don't let the replies get you down it just is a read between the lines sort of reply as to why there is less interaction than aggression.
Animals are territorial, and the human variety even more so than other species especially when it comes to resources. EVE is if you haven't noticed very competitive even compared to most other games to make it worse most people count it as an I.Q. test (which in the end shows more about their intelligence than they think it does).
It doesn't matter if you are a casual gamer or play 23/7, someone at every point the game goes on is trying to increase their own resources or destroy someone elses for fun, it doesn't matter if you are in a frigate or a titan, it doesn't make much sense to expect to meet a stranger very often that won't benefit or enjoy your misfortunes.
IF you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. It is worth it when you find people you can trust but it can take a long time and some risks on your and their part to find out whether or not they are or not trust worthy or decide out of no where they have a change of heart.
