Hey
i hope this is the right forum to ask. I wonder where snake implants originate from. Are they produced form rare bpcs or simply lp rewards for some pirate faction and if so from which? 2b for one snake omega seems quite high in case its a lp reward?

It's possible they're purchasable from pirate LP stores - that I don't know for sure.
But they do drop as a very rare loot from faction spawns.

Serpentis faction spawns and I would think the Serpentis corp LP stores.

Well, when a player and their agent love each other very, very much, they get together and spend some LP. Bingo bango, you have a toaster snake implant.

267,750 Serpentis LP + 267,750,000 ISK + 'Rogue' CY-2 implant -> Snake Omega
CY-2 goes for anywhere between 90 mil and 170 mil ISK in Empire, or you can get it for 79,375 LP plus 79,375,000 ISK in just about any LP shop.
Assuming you pay a huge premium of around 233 mil ISK for the CY-2 in Serpentis stations (just to save up that sweet LP and make our calculations easier), deducting about 100-200 extra mil for the trouble of getting the implant back to Empire space, you end up with a bit under 5k ISK per Serpentis LP... which is not particularly expensive seeing how you have to run missions in 0.0, and how some Minmatar LP shop items go for almost 3k ISK per LP (which are obtainable in Empire highsec, even if at a reduced rate compared to the 0.0 ones, but a greatly decreased risk).

hmm thanks for the comprehensive answer akita. though i reallly wonder which minmatar lp store item is supposed to give you like 3k isk per lp best ones i found were at the max 2k. I have no clue about mission running in 0.0 but the struggle is probably gettting it set up and become familiar with the surroundings/ finding the right place? after that it should not be that hard anymore? well i guess i will have to investigate a bit more into this :) . thanks

I can confirm that you can get them from Serpentis officer spawns. One of my corp mates got a Snake Beta this morning.
