Since I can't resist, I must comment on various parts of XirtamVotf's singular statement. I really don't mind a war but I believe that its very important for the truth to be known about the origins of any conflict. Wars come and go all the time but a big hit in reputation and trust will haunt a group for ever.

I must echo other CA writers comments about the dual nature of Xetic.
In game the players seem great, no smack and they show a willingness to 'go for it' and although they are taking heavy losses, I suspect that they are also learning from the experience. Kudos to you all, especially to the ones I have seen in combat around M53
Secondly the forum warriors seem to want to argue the toss about the rights and wrongs of this and that, quoting meetings from months ago and generally trying to present themselves as the wronged party. Unfortunately the basic fact remains, you destroyed a scorpion transiting your space, he wasn't mining/hunting/killing xetic members, so surely a bit of common sense dictates that you lodge a complaint with the CA council so it can be resolved and you leave him alone. Killing him has only caused your alliance a lot of grief and was not a pragmatic decision. The subsequent rapid escalation from the CA was a direct consequence of this action by your pilots.
Now lets all stop abusing the internet at work and see how this pans out in game

There is a simple lesson to be learned here. Don't attack a CA ship unless you are prepared for war. Xetic imo has been looking around and seeing all their BS's in their mining ops and chain spawns thinking "hey, we're tough now". Well my friends, it has never been about the number of BS's you have or the amount of isk in your wallet. It's a combination of experience, tactics, strategy, fleet coordination, desire to kill and tenacity.
