Yep, the site is hosted on the same box that runs eve-metrics, and they just pushed out an update. This updat included the newest version of Rails, which apparently the site's content management app doesnt play nice with. This is a big pain for me, because I was testing v3 updating code and now I cant (as easily anyways). Hopefully we will be back up soon(tm). ------

One feature that I found weak in v2, has been the materials pricing. I'd like for v3 to have the abilities of JEveassets (in Market Discussion forum), where you can choose to use various setups: buy price, sell price, average price and so on. In v2 I keep getting useless prices, ie if in Jita mega costs 4800 on buy orders, in v2 it'll tell it's 4300 or something misleading like that. On the other side it'll tell trit is 3.10 isk while everywhere it's 2.8 and so on. - Auditing and consulting

Seems to be progressing, code is being commited often....
From http://sourceforge.net/projects/evemeep/:
Quote:
Version 3 news Version 3 is moving towards release. Our website hosting went down and we have had to change a bit on the updater to allow for mirrors and make sure this does not hurt us again. New files will be hosted here and eve-files along with other volunteer's servers. This feature needs testing, and more plugins need to be finished before launch.

ok, so I threw together a google site, so www.eve-meep.com is back. All the version 3 screenshots are there, along with some news, which I will try to update slightly more frequently (as in slightly more-than-no-website frequently). We are trying to finosh up the plugins and then we should be good. ------

Excellent news!

Number one issue is that we had been using an SQLCE db for our backend, and while it was easy to make and compressed nicely, it did not play nicely when switched between XP and vista machines. We had to do alot of hacking around to get it working about 75% of the time, and thats just isn't acceptable. To fix this, we went over to SQLITE backend, which is even easier that I had first imagined

I was to drop your otherwise excellent software because you chose to use that clusterf*ck of MS SQL.

Well, I dont know a lot about databases, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Built-in visual studio support, I could generate the files from the eve db dump myself, and it compressed nicely. The downsides were it didnt work for like 25% of everyone, and due to the aforementioned lack of knowledge I really didnt feel like fighting it. I found that sqlite had the same kind of VS support, and after that it was an easy decision to make. Plus there are various other developers out there that publish sqlite databases, and they should be compatible with meep in case I take too long pushing out an update. ------

Now if only someone could convince CCP to stop using MS SQL.
While their at it could build the website on Apache and it'd be so much better. With ASP.NET they're locked into a tiny lil box with no real support from the wider industry. For starters the session management might actually work lol!
You know I'd actually apply for a job if they didn't use ASP.NET and MS SQL. Having experience with it I know that no amount of money is worth the pain that the systems cause for developers. I wouldn't take an ASP.NET job for anything less then US$200k, just to cover the earlier death from stress.

Same. When accepting jobs I already know if the clients are hopeless noobs just by seeing what platforms they are using. I mean, it's not like there are not functioning proprietary solutions (if one company refuses to use open source), so why not use them. - Auditing and consulting

Hi there
Just a quick question.
When the flag in the inventory is set to None, whan does that mean?
I have been looking for some lost items for some time now, and now it shows in the inventory list with a 'None'flag and a blank location field.
Could it be stores inside a ship or container, or maybe at another corpmembers personal hangar?
Thanks for awesome nice program.

I've only been playing around with this program for a week (and in that time mainly just playing around with the Reprocessing calculator). A couple questions about updates though... The "Latest Version" never changes from "Not checked" and I'm not sure if it has something to do with the way I installed it.
Also, I noticed there are new files on the Sourceforge page, but I'm not sure if they're updates for this version (and if so, what to do with the new files) or if these are test files for a future version.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Sulu555: good question, I think none applies to items sitting in a hangar, and also the default I-dont-know value for the flag.
Kalasz: The files on sourceforge are indeed the files for the latest version, save for the main app and the updater. This is so we can test the updater to make sure everything is working (we had some pretty annoying vista/7 issues due to lack of admin privs).
Lord Helghast: Version 3 uses Eve-Metrics in the fullest, from getting prices, to getting all open orders and market history. We then process that and pretty much spit out exactly what eve shows when you look up an item in the market. We also do cross-referencing with eve-central on most of that, but that makes less sense now that eve-central directly grabs eve-metrics data on a continuous basis. ------

Maybe I am just stupid but I can't for the life of me figure this out, when I add something to the reprocessing calculator how can I remove it? I don't see any delete button on there. Kind of kills the use of the thing for me.
Other than that though, fantastic tool!
