Not sure if they've fixed this:
Lock a target at a gate, see their ship pop up as an active target, and cycle weapons... 0.1 seconds after the target jumps and end up shooting the gate. In Empire. -
Life is pain...anyone who says differently is selling something. |

locked onto two battleships having a war in a 1.0 system to see how there tanks were doing, my destroyer dident last long when one shot at me by mistake, dont think the guy was too happy about losing his ship to concord either, autolock was never the best feature in eve....

Yeh for the most part that is the first thing I do, set autolock to 0.

Worst thing to do. Make yourself noticeable. Like hauling a 1.2 billion load SOLO afk travel.
Even in high sec space waving a flag around like bragging about your loadout or doing anything that gets someone to look is a great way to end up in your pod.
Ive played enough open PVP games to know that standing up with your hands in the air shouting for attention is a great way to get yourself shot.

This. Twice in two days. I couldn't face the time to recoup the loss by hand, hello GTC....

I've never lost a ship in high-sec except for those I've lost as a result of falling asleep during lvl 4 missions...
Conversely, I've never lost a ship in 0.0 due to falling asleep and I've fallen asleep in 2 high traffic 0.0 pvp hubs (once on the gate for 2 hours in a hostile system in a fleet Rokh, I'm assuming they thought I would jump out or was bait or something) and didn't die(though lost many in "other ways" )
Jumping through from 0.0 to low-sec in an inty or some such and not realizing it and being popped by the gate guns is something of a specialty of mine... |

Falling asleep at keyboard is totally my biggest vice.
Being gang leader having my corpmate in industrial screaming out to me in teamspeak to wake up as the rats are killing me, trying to fit a 125mm railgun to his iteron mk3 to save me. Not being able to warp me out as I am gang leader
Waking up to a pod, mostly happens in either a mining ship or a faction fitted CNR/Golem inside a mission instance. |

High Sec Smartbombing: Helping a corpmate on a level 4 mission where he was having problems with a tonne of small frigates that he couldn't kill. He warped in to join me after I had engaged them and wandered within the SB radius....Megathron....pfftt. Running a mission while waiting for a GM to show up for a mission bug petition. GM appears in his invisible ship (or so he explained to me)...within the SB radius....Megathron....pfftt. I got that one back though.

This is why you don't use smartbombs in highsec unless you're suiciding.

My main was doing a LV4 in a raven with a smarty fitted. My alt was in a deimos salvaging and assisting with drones. Set my alts drones to 'Assist' my main who was shooting a target about 5k from me. My drones, being strong willed decided they would rather go orbit my main who is killing tacklers with his smartbomb
As the drones got into smartbomb range I realised that the little blue + next to my main indicated my alt had not yet joined the corp. Concort arrived shortly after to confirm this for me in an inpressivley explosive manner.
I have never since fitted an smartbomb to my mission ship.

don't tempt and then attack an ore stealer unless you know that you are definetly better than them, just did that and my capskills weren't good enough so although I could tank his caladri navy missiles I was running out of cap. My computer crashed as well but that didn't help. Also remeber that they might be fitting a warp jammer....

Fair enough, maybe I'm just a little pessimistic when someone has a crash in the middle of a fight.
