With the upcoming nano changes will the Zealot (amarr HAC) still be any good? It can still easily orbit people from a good distance, and all the changes that affect speed are for warp scrams/disruptors and with the zealot range bonus it can still orbit people outside scram range. So, will nano-zealots still be viable

Not all the changes were to Scram / MWD, Nanofibres now will affect Agility and speed not Mass, so they will be a crossbread of Overdrives / Inert stabs, Also Overdrive injectors are getting nerfed, oh and so are Polycarbs + it will all now be stack nerfed. Enjoy.

It won't be as fast as it can be at the moment, but I don't think it'll be slow either. So still useable, just not sure how it'll compare to the rest of the ships.

Nano-zealots? Probably not.
Tank zealots? Possibly, I don't know much about them.
Sniper zealots? You bet.

Edited by: Epegi on 25/07/2008 22:17:12 so they might be a little bit slower. can't a tracking disruptor with tracking speed script make up for that?

Remember that the only reason why the abomination that is the nano-zealot (speed-zealot is more accurate, not really that fast) exists is the additional turret. The drain on grid and cpu caused by the fifth turret made overdrives and nanofibers a natural choice when all ones enemies travel at 3+k/s.
Sniper Zealots are just plain evil as are the tanked versions (who expects it nowadays). Instead of fitting the speed modules try using the cpu neutral Adaptive Nano Platings, the T2 version was boosted recently and the Centii/Corpii C-types are a bargain on contracts.
Zealot is hammer AND anvil rolled into one. Damage potential is immense with above average range and tracking.

Sniper zealot is completely true, I think.
But tanked zealot, what can it do that a Harbinger cannot reasonably do?
All in all, Harby is a better tanked laser boat.

The tank Zealot is still reasonably fast (ca 1800m/s ) and has a good range ( 35km with scorch ).

Nope. All HACs are ruined. CCP also nerfed all forms of resistances, and reppers for HACs only. Might as well re-process __________________________________________________

They will be a lot slower. A Zealot fit that can go at maybe 4 km/s right now, will probably only be going something like 2.5 km/s after the changes.

Ab zealots would probably start being used more(ie you fit a tank and use the ab to dictate range).
Nano zealots will probably lose most of its affectiveness.

I would welcome this change since the zealot fits beautifully with an afterburner. __________________________________
