Astrophysics student during the school year, astronomy researcher during the summer.
Currently I'm tracking Alpha Virginis (Spica) to confirm that it exhibits Beta Cephilae variability. I'm also working on light curves for comets LINEAR and NEAT, because with all the random behaviour of comets (with eruptions, spinning, etc) we may be able to learn something. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. Welcome to the world of Eve. Press 1 to submit an escrow offer. Press 2 to retrain your level 5 battleship skill. Press 3 to submit a stuck petition. Press 8 to repeat these options. Press # to self-destruct.
Essentially, I'm the guy you want to punch in the throat.
I used to do that, till about 9 months ago, but ours was more:
Welcome to the World of Eve, what would you like to do? Buy another battleship. Did you say trash your battleship? Errr, NO! BUY another battleship! Battleship trashed AArrgghh!!

What firm, I just read through three pages waiting for someone in the same industry. Admittedly I didn't take a job in banking, I thought noooooooo lets be in Technology division instead.
Great move. Now I watch people with the same amount of time at the same company earning $200k a year guaranteed minimum.
Not that I'm bitter.

Those at this moment, I'm bit over worked. (Ok, so over worked that skipping from project to project takes half of my workday and I'll have to organize things around "wait times until customer gets annoyed")
And yes, I do crawl under tables in suit.

Work for a US "Super Regional", outside of NYC/Chicago/LA.
For what it is worth, when I started in banking 10 years ago, it was the tech guys making $200k/year and the bankers crying the blues.

Since others did not scare people away when they expanded on their research, I will give it a try...
I study the biochemistry of hyperthermophiles (heat loving organisms that grow >90 degrees C) that live in the deep abyss's around the world where volcanicaly heated water is spewed from the sea floor into the cold water making black clouds of iron sulifide. These hyperthermophiles may hold the key to what the original life form was like that spawned all life on this planet.
... Hello? Where did everyone go? I only used two scientific words! Hello?

I have measured and described the stars, their great and countless multitude. What man has seen their revolutions and entrances? Not even the angels see their number, yet I have recorded all their names.

We won't talk about how many cruisers I lost this weekend, nor how many nice railguns, or T2 enhancers. We're going to skip right over that. We're going to talk about my new Raven. It is like flying a small city, and the city's only export is missiles.
