I'd just like to ask if CCP are aware that if you're podded and lose attribute implants, you continue to train your current skill as if those implants still apply.
I realise it might make me rather unpopular, but I'd suggest this bug be rectified so that podding confers the correct consequences.
So, if this is a bug, how would I check if its already bug-reported? Cheers.

its this way because the skill server only checks skill training when you change a skill or it completes.
skill server doesnt know that you have been podded and lost implants until your skill finishes or you change/stop skill ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Describing the circumstances under which or why it happens does not make it a non-bug. ;-)
It doesn't make sense from a gameplay perspective, it's not logical and was probably not intended to work this way, but it was declared a non-issue or "won't fix bug" by CCP apparently.
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

Shhhhh, it's saved me some ISK in implants when training skills (I was podded a number of times over a couple of days) and just kept training till it finished,

Thats interests me...
You say its "A non-fix" by CCP apparently - how do you know? where's this info? Is there a bug list with resolution plans available for us to see?
Cheers.
Oh and it makes common sense: pop > no implants > slower training. But meh....

I'm pretty sure destroying the implants so that the -next- skill they train doesn't have them is good enough as far as consequences go.
If they're going to re-buy the implants, then they could also just go ahead and do that immediately after being podded as well.

he's describing the mechanics of the skill calculation system. It was designed this way therefore in my eyes is not a bug. A bug is unintended whereas this is a design issue.

That's not a bug. Now, the case where your training is finishing in a session change and you don't get the level, THAT's a bug Incidentally, the GMs can't see this in the server logs apparently, so it's a "feature" i'm told...

they probably will not "fix" it ever...
for the simple reason that it would increase load on the skill server.
atm the skill system does 2 checks
when you start a skill.. it checks your atributes and the SP on that skill currently. then it multiplys it whit the rank and you have set training time.
now when you stop a skill, your client sends info to server that you have finished the skill. server checks the SP left on that skill and saves it and also calculates time remaining.
when a skill finishes the server doesnt do much.. it just saves the new level and thats it.
as the skill system works very much independant from the game server... the skill server doesnt know if you have been podded or not... only when you stop a skill or start a new.
if they would fix it that instantly when you lose implants or your atributes change during training... that would mean ALOT more communication between the game server and skill server.
also more operations for skill server... as the game server sends your new atributes to the skill server... the skill server has to stop the training and calculate new end time and resume....
dunno if CCP intended it to be like that or not... but i dont think it will change.
PS: i dont pretend to know how the eve servers work... i just guess how they work from little bit of experiance i have in the IT field ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Do you have proof that it was designed to do this? I think it's highly unlikely. Just because it doesn't cause a crash doesn't mean it isn't a bug.
You can have bugs in code, bugs in design and bugs in documentation and none of them need cause a crash. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

its a "feature". Afaik because a skilltrain database entry just lists the "endtime" of training.. so as long you dont change a long skilltrain after dying, your fine and dont need new (learning) implants ;)

All they would really have to do is have pod death automatically terminate current skill being trained. When you restart the skill, the new values would be used.

90% of the time you only need to relog to clear that, it is a cache issue. Another 90% of the remaining unrecorded skill increases are resolved at DT.
And you can petition if it persist after relogging and Dt and it will be cleared.

You even perfectly describe WHY the bug happen to occur.
Why is it a bug? Simple: you get podded and don't have any implants in your head any more - so you shouldn't get any benefits from any implants, right? Especially not since they are all destroyed with your old clone.
How to fix it? After podding let the server check for implants and adjust training time. Shouldn't be difficult to stealth interrupt the training serverside for 1/10 sec and start training it after the adjustment again.

I think you hit on why it isn't done yourself. With so many players online, imagine how much podding takes place, especially in fleet battles. Now multiply that by the amount of data that needs to be transferred, the amount of calculations that it requires and you can only imagine the load on the server. There is enough lag during fleet battles as it is without adding more calculations into the equation.
Let's just call it a bonus for now. You've lost your ship, your pod, your implants and now have to buy a new clone as well. Jeez, give us some benefits for having a go at PVP will you.
