Plan, start early and keep going till we pass out....

Depending on the size of the group, starting down in the Austurstraeti area of town is the best bet. I think the Nordica has a shuttle bus that goes into town right near there, and there are quite a few places around with a good pub atmosphere, which, on a Wednesday night is probably the best option.
Last year a lot of people hung out at Glaumbar, as there was a deal on there for fanfest attendees. In the general vicinity of that are quite a few other places - Organ is good, sometimes live music there and can be a bit loud. Just across the street The Dubliner is fun mid week, as is the English Pub, and Bellys is worth a mention for being about as cheap as it gets. Moving up towards the middle of town, Celtic Cross is a popular hangout, along with 22 (previously called Barinn) and Boston.
I would say that if you make it to all those in one evening, you probably won't really care where you are after that, as long as they still serve you ;)

If you plan to hang out in the Nordica bar for a few hours I'm game.
Reason beeing I'm not landing at the airport until 15:30 - So it'll most likely be at least 17:00 before I get checked into Nordica...

I am up for this! Our flight lands at 06:40 that morning. We will probably start drinking shortly after arriving. We will head down to the bar around 14:00 if we are still able to walk.  |

I'll be there on the 4th. I'm also a big disc golfer if anyone has heard of it and I heard somewhere there are a couple courses in Reykjavik so if anyone wants to hit them up on the 4th let me know. Or more importantly if you know where they are......But yeah I'm staying at the Nordica so I'll find ya guys.

Well looks like we are finally starting to gather some peeps for this, for those that are arriving late to the pub crawl, assuming we have left the hotel bar by 1700 I will leave a rough itinerary with reception of pubs we will hit first (2-3) whilst we may be sober enough to give a damn where we drink and to ensure late comers can find us.

Just like TornSoul I won't arrive until 1530 though, and if memory serves 1700 is a good enough estimate of when I'll be checked in. Fashionably late is the way to go.
