oh noes, people who are trying to organize a fleet to take down a capital ship, arent completely correct in their spelling, and dont spell check every sentence they write
i mean seriously people, it would really help to take down a carrier if we took that extra minute to correct every little mistake in our spelling, why cant you guys see the advantages of it?

I'm not a native speaker (German, to be exact) and got nearly all my English from books, movies and the internet - and there were _maybe_ in the vicinity of 3 questions I had to even think about consciously. Didn't learn more than the basics at school, btw.
Although I have to add that probably 80% of everything I read and watch since a few years ago is in English, and I've easily been reading about 50-100 books a year - just prefer to experience what the original author really wanted to express, and not an interpretation by a third party (the translator, obviously).

Somewhat OT: Does anyone (probably most likely fellow grammar ****s) notice reading a correctly spelled word falsely in the mind, especially the often and stupidly misspelled ones? I often catch myself at that these days, and it's annoying me.. can't really satisfactorily explain it. Guessing it's because of the subconscious assumption that it's going to be one of the bad posts by statistic probability. Heh.

Half the time, posting on forums is done from the top of the head. Although good grammar and spelling is nice, it hardly matters if the general message comes across. If the OP is so hung up on other people's spelling and grammar, maybe he/she should be seeking psychiatric advice instead of posting on public forums. Failing that, maybe the teaching profession would be more suitable so he/she can pass on their 'expertise' in the English language. Just don't be surprised at how many kids don't give a damn.
BTW, IQ tests are meaningless. You can have a very high IQ but still fail at very basic English. The tests do not indicate your ability to read and write properly, they merely show your ability for abstract thought and therefore your ability to solve problems easily.

Score isnt too bad for me as i never did too well at school in my english subjects.
although i must say that this test dosnt really show how well people do with stuff like this, as this gives you a choice of answers so its possible to bluff your way through and also that even though you may know when and how to use correct spelling and grammar, you may not use it as well as you would in practise. i for one know that i usually use the wrong spelling for things but if given the option to correct my mistake from a list of 4, then im pretty sure i know which one is the correct one to pick

I think the test was way too easy though. Maybe its for high school kids?
